Fournette looked really rough this year.

As a Jags fan it still makes me sick that the organization passed over Deshaun Watson and fricking Patrick Mahomes for Fournette. He was Trent Richardson level bad this season.

Spiegelman mentioned LSU thought they had reeled him in but things have changed as of now again and we lead for him.

What does that even mean? He was on board and then they said no to Rodney and now he wants to go to the best school for him not the one that offers a package deal?

LINK ]Tennessee athletics reports deficit of nearly $6.5 million (ESPN)
quote:

KNOXVILLE, TN -- Tennessee's athletics department has reported a budget deficit of nearly $6.5 million for the 2018 fiscal year, thanks partly to hefty buyouts for former football coach Butch Jones and athletic director John Currie.

The school reported revenues of $143.55 million and expenses of just over $150 million for the period stretching from July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2018.

Those expenses included $13.8 million in severance payments. The Volunteers owed $11.5 million in buyouts to Jones and his assistant coaches. Tennessee also paid about $2.2 million to Currie as part of a separation agreement reached in March.

Tennessee paid for the deficit through its athletic department reserves, which are now down to about $9.5 million.

The information was obtained through a public records request and first reported by the Knoxville News Sentinel.

LINK ]UT Vols: How Phillip Fulmer plans to remedy sagging Tennessee football attendance
quote:

The Vols’ announced attendance for seven home games in 2017 totaled 670,454. That represented a 5.1 percent drop compared to announced attendance for 2016. Announced attendance decreased to 650,887 for this season’s seven home games, an additional 2.9 percent drop compared to 2017.

Announced attendance reflects tickets distributed – not the number of fans who actually attend the game. As for actual attendance, Tennessee totaled 545,343 fans in 2018, which equates to an average actual crowd of 77,906. That’s more than the capacity of several SEC stadiums, but it means that, on average, 25,000 seats were empty at Neyland for a home Saturday.

...Fulmer noted that the NFL is moving toward smaller, fan-friendly stadiums to address changes in attendance patterns. Because UT doesn’t plan to decrease Neyland Stadium's capacity, Fulmer is focused on the fan-friendly portion of the NFL’s approach. He also noticed the fan experience while attending a game at Yankee Stadium last summer.

Our top gymnast, Lexi, was injured in warm ups. We scored .025 less than last weeks season high. The ladies that came off the bench did well, but LSU is just a strong team. LSUs score was a season high for them.

Was it that or are we just making excuses for the gymnastics coach while the rest of the league slowly slips by us?

The SEC has been a very tough league in the gym for years. It used to be Bama and UGA and everyone else. Now LSU and UF and Auburn have upped their game and are beating us. Auburn broke our gargantuan streak over them last year.

Duckworth isn’t a bad coach but she’s following a legend. She will never measure up and the program has/is becoming ordinary. Good, but ordinary. Can Dana stabilize the program and continue competing for titles or does it become just another program? That’s the question we need to be asking.

Probably a bit of both. We have the worst facilities in the SEC. Aub, LSU, FLa has passed us by. It may be Dana’s last year - to be honest, it’s tough to hold her fully accountable given the hand she’s been dealt.
