Man, I was looking at Becks throwing percentage this year 209 for 356. 58% . I mean I like him he moves in the pocket good and throws a nice ball . Don’t want to lose him , but I thought he would be better than that , for Florida player of the year!
Completion percentage in high school oftentimes is very misleading. His coaching staff is putting the game in his hands and not just giving him short passes that any QB could complete.

I was looking at the Composite Team Rankings a minute ago and noticed there's a fairly large gap between us and Georgia for the top spot. It got me curious to see how large the gaps have been between the #1 and #2 ranked classes over the last 10-12 years so I did some research. Here are the results:
2019 - Alabama over Georgia - 14.63 point differential
2018 - Georgia over Ohio State - 6.25 point differential
2017 - Alabama over Ohio State - 11.73 point differential
2016 - Alabama over LSU - 7.01 point differential
2015 - Alabama over USC - 0.22 point differential
2014 - Alabama over LSU - 20.42 point differential
2013 - Alabama over Ohio State - 16.15 point differential
2012 - Alabama over Texas - 13 point differential
2011 - Alabama over Florida State - 1.47 point differential
2010 - Florida over Texas - 12.55 point differential
2009 - LSU over USC - 3.87 point differential
2008 - Miami over Notre Dame - 7.03 point differential

That 2010 Florida class is still insane, especially when you consider how poorly it turned out. Wonder if that 2018 Uga class ends up the same way.

Well, technically, if you remove the four players from that class who are no longer on the roster their score drops down to a 311.64.
They would have been behind Ohio State by 5.42 points if they re-calculated the classes.

I've posted that a few times and it really angers our resident downvoting dawg

LINK ]Alabama continuing after FSU DL commit Quashon Fuller (BOL | embedded video)
quote:
Alabama is still on the hunt for one or two more defensive linemen in its 2019 class, a position it’s already had great success at coming out of the Early Signing Period.
Guys like Alabama commit Byron Young, Miss. State commit Nathan Pickering, Ishmael Sopsher, Jaquaze Sorrells, Jared Harrison-Hunte and Florida State commit LINK ]Quashon Fuller are all in the mix. The latter plans to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa the last weekend before National Signing Day.
You may remember, Fuller told BamaOnLine that the coaching staff FaceTimed with him after they won the Orange Bowl last month.
“I’m just hearing how there might be coaching changes, but they’re still on the same mission,” Fuller said of the staff’s pitch as of late. “They’re trying to get back to that game and win a natty next year.”
The Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Senior product says he’s still hearing from Alabama on a consistent basis despite the staff turnover. He said as of late it’s been Craig Kuligowski and new assistant Sal Sunseri reaching out. “That was a good hire,” Fuller said of Sunseri who he knew at Florida. “He’s a really good coach.”

Nick Saban and Denzel Devall stopped by to see Fuller and his mother on Monday. “It was really good,” Fuller said of the visit. “I felt like me and him have a really good connection and my mom likes him.”
The All-American defensive lineman admits it’s a little bit surreal having Saban at your house. “I was like ‘Mom, you don’t understand, this guy is like a celebrity in the football world, like a big celebrity,’” Fuller said.
As for the Seminoles, the nation’s No. 196 overall player has been committed for nearly two years, so he’s very familiar with everything the program has to offer. “With Florida State, I’ve seen about everything,” he said of his upcoming visit. “I’m just going to be chilling on my visit.”
As for the Capstone, Fuller is looking forward to getting a closer look before National Signing Day. “I’m trying to see everything,” Fuller said of Alabama. “I want to see the atmosphere, I want to meet some of the players, see what they’ve got to say about the program, I want to meet my D-line coach, talk about the schemes and things like. See if I can feel at home.”
One of the longer tenured 2019 commitments, where does Fuller’s pledge stand with the Noles? “It’s there,” Fuller said.
The 4-star defensive lineman says Saban and company are making it hard to turn down Bama. “I’m about to pull my hair out,” Fuller said. So where does that leave the Tide in the equation? “They’re right behind (FSU),” he said.

Pac-12 Spotlight: Five big late signing period questions
quote:
While the early signing period dominates the late signing period from an action and drama standpoint now, there are still plenty of questions that need to be answered heading into the late signing period, which kicks off Feb. 6. Here are five big questions to answer out of the Pac-12.

WHERE DOES TO’OTO’O END UP?
Four-star linebacker Henry To’oto’o has been quiet throughout his recruitment but at the All-American Bowl he laid out exactly where things stand and it looks like a Tennessee/Alabama battle to the end for his services with Washington sticking around as well.
After that event, the Concord (Calif.) De La Salle hard-hitting linebacker took his visit to Knoxville and he absolutely loved it. The Vols could have further moved up his list after Alabama defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi left to take a job with the Cleveland Browns.
To’oto’o is still a top priority for Alabama’s recruiting class and coach Nick Saban remains involved in his recruitment. He will still visit Tuscaloosa and that could be huge because it’s always tough to beat Alabama, but To’oto’o did have a great trip to Tennessee and that coaching staff has made him a priority.

WHAT DOES HEIMULI DO AFTER VISITS?
After a week at the Polynesian Bowl, four-star linebacker Daniel Heimuli has once again turned his focus to recruiting with a bunch of visits being planned for the weekends before National Signing Day.
The Atherton (Calif.) Menlo-Atherton standout has been pegged to Washington for a long time and the Huskies, along with Alabama, Oregon, Utah and UCLA, round out his top five. If the feeling is that To’oto’o is leaning toward Tennessee, then the Crimson Tide might even make Heimuli more of a priority in the weeks leading up to his decision in early February.
Washington still looks tough to beat. But, again, Alabama is tough to turn down and the Crimson Tide have done a great job recruiting in Northern California in recent years.

Its funny i saw Sopspher doesnt want to play inside lol. Wants to play DE. Man whats wrong with these dudes.

Edge rushers make the big bucks. You have to be an elite interior dlinemen to get paid in the NFL, if you are productive at the Edge you will make bank. They are making smart business decisions.

Not Bama recruiting related but I saw where Bru McCoy is already thinking about leaving USC. He just signed at the early signing period.

LINK ]Alabama recruits that could contribute as freshmen (BamaOnLine)
>>> Note: TR = Travis Reier
quote:
One of go-to recruiting pitches for Alabama's Southeastern Conference foes is that freshmen don't play for the Crimson Tide. And while that theory has been debunked on numerous occasions (see the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game vs. Georgia), it still seems to come up consistently.
In 2018 we saw freshmen like Patrick Surtain II and Jaylen Waddle take on major roles for Alabama. Could 2019 see some of the same? It's certainly plausible for a number of the Tide's 2019 signees and commitments considering the needs at certain position groups.
Here, BamaOnLine takes a look at the incoming freshmen class (we'll include commitments at this time as well), looking at guys that could make an argument to start Day 1 at the Capstone.

ANTONIO ALFANO, 5-STAR SDE, COLONIA (NJ)
![]()
Named the No. 1 player in the country by 247Sports earlier this week, there’s no question Alfano is going to compete for playing time early, even with Raekwon Davis coming back for his senior season.
TR says: “Athletic enough in high school to play standing up as an edge defender. Combination of get off and length allows him to cover ground quickly. Similar to Jonathan Allen and LaBryan Ray in that he might be more of a factor outside early in his UA career before working inside as well.”

JUSTIN EBOIGBE, 4-STAR SDE,
FOREST PARK (GA)
![]()
The reigning Class 6A Defensive Player of the Year in the talent-rich state of Georgia, Eboigbe’s another name that adds depth and potentially immediate impact at the college level. The 6-foot-4.5, 263-pounder already looks the college part and will have a semester under his belt come fall camp.
TR says: "In addition to showing elite first-step explosiveness, Eboigbe plays with power, edge and energy. At nearly 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, projects perfectly for Alabama's base (end), nickel (end or tackle) and dime (tackle) packages."

JORDAN BATTLE, 4-STAR S, FORT LAUDERDALE (FL)
![]()
Alabama’s South Florida signees have a knack for finding the field early in their careers with the Crimson Tide, which is a testament to the level of competition they face in high school. Battle could certainly be in the conversation to find his way into the rotation early on, especially with Deionte Thompson turning pro.
TR says: "Being exposed to some of the very best competition in all of high school football moves Battle up a notch in my book. Not only that, he's been a part of a program that emulates a Power Five setup in every aspect. Already shows awareness and understanding of responsibilities while in zone coverage that most prep safeties don't. Very good with the ball in his hands, so he'll fit in well with a team that thrives on non-offensive touchdowns."
