I think once nadab puts some muscle on he could a serious safety. Hopefully he gets a Bama bump here soon lol

Yeah he seems like a safety to me as well. I don’t think he’s as fast as someone like Kirkpatrick to play corner now days.

Look at his are length. He is just learning the game. He should he able to take the coaching well should be a beast eventually.

Our secondary is going to be a huge question mark next year regardless of how well we recruit this year.

Stepp goes to the same school as Emil that should help with him. Has nice film. Look like I might have to watch the Polynesian bowl this year.

Jobe says Alabama has a 120% chance to flip him and that Alabama is recruiting him the hardest. We are the only OV he has set up.
Posted on 12/6/17 at 7:56 am to chattabama
Hank went ahead and CB'd Jobe to Bama. Multiple insiders on BOL says its a done deal.

Well this is refreshing. Recruiting turning up a bit. Saban doin work per usual.

One recruit put us up to 11....
Posted on 12/6/17 at 8:25 am to Tide or Die87
Jobe would put us in the top 10 assuming nobody else behind us gets any commitments between now and then

Saban lands commit on in-home visit
The Crimson Tide added a major piece to its 2018 recruiting class on Tuesday night.
Alabama fans received welcome news on Tuesday night as four-star cornerback Nadab Joseph committed the Crimson Tide after an in-home visit from Nick Saban and Joe Pannunzio, BamaOnLine has learned.
Joseph is the Tide’s twelfth commitment in the 2018 class, which bumps the program to No. 11 in the 247Sports Team Rankings after residing outside the top 20 following offensive lineman Jarrett Bell exiting the class last month.
The Miami (Fla.) Norland product, a former LSU commit, chose the Tide over the Bayou Bengals and Georgia, among others.
“Playing time, championships, and the family feel,” Joseph cited as his reasons he likes Alabama in the past. “That championship mindset they have around there and just knowing how I would be challenged every day in practice.
“Coach (Nick) Saban said he's coached in the NFL for a while and I have some of those qualities, and he can help me get there. They basically let me know I'm the guy they want.”
Joseph's guardian, Vick Evans, weighed in with his reaction as well.
"It's great to finally have the process over with," he said. "Something he's known he was going to do for some time now. Tonight I guess he felt like it was right."
Evans talked about Saban and Pannunzio's reaction when they learned the news.
"They were excited that he was ready to go public with it," Evans said. "They knew for some time that he going to come. He was a silent commit. When he told them he was ready, the were excited."
The foundation and stability in Tuscaloosa was ultimately a big driving factor in Joseph committing to Alabama over Georgia and LSU.
"I guess one thing that he really pointed at was everything going on with the coaching changes, the coaching staff at Alabama has a lot of stability," Evans said. "You're not hearing their names come up and even if they are, it's being handled professionally. It's not like kids are wondering if a coach is going to be here or not going to be here."
Alabama clearly had momentum for the 6-foot-1.5, 180-pounder after offering in the summer at camp despite his pledge to LSU. Joseph made a pair of trips to Tuscaloosa prior to reopening his recruitment in August. While he never named a leader, Alabama looked to be the favorite (and landed a silent commitment from Joseph) with its push to land him and its need at cornerback. UA solidified its standing during Joseph’s official visit to the Capstone for the LSU game. A late official visit to Georgia last month raised some eyebrows, but ultimately did not sway Joseph from where he was leaning. The Crystal Ball was trending 100 percent to the Tide at the time of his announcement.
Joseph is rated the No. 19 cornerback and the No. 199 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. Credit defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley and special teams and tight ends coach Joe Pannunzio with landing the talented defensive back. Ansley visited Joseph last week.
"Coach Ansley is a big factor," Evans said. "We've gotten to know him a lot over the process since they really got on Nadab. Coach Ansley has been on him a lot, talking and texting every day. He has the relationship with Coach Ansley that he had with Coach Raymond (LSU), and that's big."
Joseph joins in-state corner Jalyn Armour-Davis as the second cornerback in the class. Alabama will stick in South Florida to try and land a few others at the position in five-star corners Tyson Campbell and Patrick Surtain Jr. Miami native Josh Jobe is also a priority target, but is finishing his high school career in Connecticut. The Tide staff also covets the nation’s No. 1 junior college cornerback in Saivion Smith.
It goes without saying that Alabama hoped to make a splash at the cornerback position this cycle after signing three safeties in the 2017 class.

Joseph brings Bama to 12 commitments. With DWA, S.Smith and Caleb Tremblay all likely signing with Bama in two weeks, that brings the number to 15 and with a Josh Jobe flip imminent the number will be 16.
Who gets the final 6 spots to fill up this class.
Also, if Michael Parker doesn't sign with Auburn during the early signing period, he will likely blue shirt to Bama.

Storylines: Alabama football recruiting early signing period
As we enter the heart of December, Alabama football recruiting is heating up. With the Early Signing Period for college football in its inaugural year, recruits in the 2018 class will have the opportunity to sign National Letters of Intent from Dec. 20-22, instead of waiting until February. This change in timeline could have major implications on how programs approaching the recruiting process going forward.
Alabama football is currently ranked outside the top 20 nationally, per the 247Sports Team Rankings, but anyone that thinks Nick Saban isn’t going to finish the 2018 recruiting cycle with bang is fooling themselves. One of the foundation pieces of the class is four-star defensive end Stephon Wynn, who is the Crimson Tide’s highest-rated commitment, ranking as the No. 3 strong-side defensive end and the No. 69 overall player, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. Wynn plans to sign in the Early Signing Period and enroll in Tuscaloosa in January. He has the potential to contribute early in his career with the Tide.
The biggest need in terms of Alabama football recruiting is at the cornerback position. The Tide did not sign a true cornerback in its 2017 class, and is expected to lose a big chunk of its current secondary after the season. The focus for Nick Saban and staff will certainly be on its defensive backfield and defensive line. UA already has a pair of commits at each in the aforementioned Wynn and Army All-American cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis.
A couple of top uncommitted targets for Alabama football that plan on making decisions during the Early Signing Period, if not in the days leading up to Early Signing Day, include four-star cornerback Saivion Smith, the No. 1 junior college cornerback in the country. Smith left the LSU program last spring and has immediate impact ability with past experience in the SEC. Another big target of Nick Saban’s is four-star offensive tackle Penei Sewell, who plans to sign during the Early Signing Period, but enroll next summer. Alabama football already inked a stellar offensive line class in 2017, following it up with a player of Sewell’s caliber would be huge for the Tide’s recruiting efforts.
