Check out this beastly stat line:

quote:
Blake Barnett, QB, Arizona State
Barnett was 1 for 2 passing for 19 yards and an interception, which was returned for a touchdown in a 48-17 loss against USC.

Another name to add to the visitor's list:
2020 DT McKinnley Jackson Highlights
His coach posts on BOL too. This kid is an absolute animal.

I bet his dad is happy. Did he talk Blake into transferring?

Hank South on Nadab Joseph:
If we land Joseph and Saivion Smith this weekend I'd be pretty happy.

He told 247 last week he'd "probably" make a commitment on the visit for the LSU game.

Saint you do a wonderful job here, please update us on what the coach says, Cox could make this class special with our DL needs.

Where is the confidence coming from there? I haven't kept up with his recruitment since his original commitment to tOSU. Bama getting a lot of traction there? I think he's really talented.

Hank South did a Class Prediction, based on what he think it would look like as of today, so obviously things will change in the future:
QB: Emory Jones
RB: Asa Martin
WR: Xavier Williams
WR: Jaylen Waddle
WR: Jacob Copeland
TE: Dominick Wood-Anderson
APB: Slade Bolden
OL: Penei Sewell
OL: Emil Ekiyor
OL: Tommy Brown
DL: Stephon Wyn
DL: Caleb Tremblay
DL/LB: Andres Fox
DL/LB: Jarez Parks
LB: Jordan Davis
LB: Cameron Latu
LB: JJ Peterson
LB: Eyabi Anoma
CB: Jalyn Armour-Davis
CB: Tyson Campbell
CB: Nadab Joseph
CB: Savion Smith
P: Skyler DeLong
I love seeing Emory Jones and Asa Martin in our class. That said, I'd like to see less of the OLB/tweener types that we hope grow into DE's and more DL ready kids in the 275-300 LB range. We've already got a ton of the OLB body types--I hope we focus on the bigger trench guys when filling out this class. I'd also like to see one more DB than he projects.

Interesting. He's been notably stand-offish for us, so will be following this. Don't think we are doing much in the way of communicating with him, but would be nice to see a prized piece of Meyer's class fall out... (particularly if you guys take EJ as well).

Is UGA trending for Barmore too?

I think you guys get Ford since our staff is higher on DWA--for whatever reason. The other two are very much in play and could go either way.

The kid keeps showing up in Tuscaloosa even though the OSU coaches have asked him not to. He was even texting with our coaching staff on his visit to OSU last week. And the fact that OSU has started recruiting the UK QB commit hard tells me they now have very little confidence they can keep Jones from flipping. It's not a sure thing, but he's definitely trending towards Bama.

We were is first offer once the new film came out. Recent quote had him list 4-5 schools he'd be picking from and we're definitely squarely in the mix. Not sure where he is on the board relative to other DL in this class though. Love his film though. Likely a redshirt candidate with only one year playing football, but I think he will be a stud wherever he goes.

Oh for sure. I was totally kidding with that comment. People way too serious sometimes (not specifically you, but I do seem to have a serial downvoter here...

Thanks for the background. That makes sense for sure.

Hopefully we pound LSU this weekend, and make recruits rethink a 5-3 Orgeron led program. No way he lasts more than 3-4 years down there.

Jarren Williams still listening to Alabama
Alabama is in a good position with quarterback recruiting in the 2018 class. Emory Jones, a 4-star quarterback committed to Ohio State, and Jarren Williams, a 4-star quarterback committed to Kentucky, are both listening to the Crimson Tide’s recruiting pitches.
The team will only take one quarterback in the 2018 class, and it appears as if Jones is the team’s top choice. We reported on Monday that confidence is growing in Tuscaloosa that Jones will eventually flip. Ohio State is growing weary that it will lose Williams.
But if Jones does end up sticking with the Buckeyes, Williams could be next in line for the Tide. Jarren’s father, Anthony, spoke with SEC Country Kentucky reporter Joe Mussato to talk about the latest with his son’s recruitment.
Anthony said his son is still listening to Alabama and Ohio State, which could be a sign of where the Buckeyes think things stand with Jones.
“Of course Jarren has a relationship with a lot of those guys, dating back to about a year and a half now,” Anthony Williams said of Alabama’s staff. “They still reach out to him. Alabama and Ohio State are keeping in contact with him.”
Williams visited Tuscaloosa for the Ole Miss game. It’s his only known visit to any program other than Kentucky. Whenever recruits who are committed visit schools that they’re not committed to, fans and coaches, rightfully, start to worry about potentially losing them.
So, how would Jarren’s father characterize his son’s commitment level to the Wildcats?
“I don’t like to put percentages on anything. I mean, he’s committed,” Anthony Williams said. “I just know Jarren wants to win. Right now, he’s frustrated. And this is just something going on internally with him and his team. He’s frustrated because Jarren [has] put in the work. Jarren’s going above and beyond. When he’s seeing other players not doing the same thing, he questions their commitment.
“I think it’s to the point right now where he wants to win, and he wants to win [badly]. He wants to win now. I think he’s just kind of tired of being on those subpar teams that the athletes are really not committed. You really wanna be with a winning program. That’s kind of where his head is.”
To be 100 percent clear, his father is talking about his high school team, not Kentucky, in the above quote. Central Gwinnett is 5-4 on the season. The Black Knights have a lot of talent on their roster and should have a better record, so I understand why Williams, who’s having a fantastic senior season, wouldn’t be happy with where things stand with his team.
Jarren’s father called into Kentucky Sports Radio and said his comments above were “misconstrued.”
“I understand there was an article that came out that had been misconstrued. I just want to clear things up,” Williams said. “Jarren is committed and he’s looking to enroll at Kentucky in January.”
SEC Country stands by Mussato’s reporting. In fact, three trusted sources close to the situation, prior to that story publishing, have told me that Williams isn’t 100 percent locked in with Kentucky. So, his recruitment should be closely watched regardless of his father saying his son will enroll at Kentucky in January.
I actually think if Jones sticks with Ohio State, there’s a really good chance of Williams being the Tide’s Class of 2018 quarterback. I am telling you that both Jones and Williams are strongly considering a flip.

What happens if Emory Jones and Jarren Williams stick with their schools?
That’s when things will get a little weird.
Alabama is still recruiting 4-star quarterback Tanner McKee, who will take an official visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend, but he’s essentially a 2020 prospect. McKee will do a two-year Mormon mission trip after graduating from high school.
Outside of Jones, Williams and McKee, there aren’t any other quarterbacks who are being actively recruited to the degree those three are. We may see Alabama circle back with 3-star prospect James Foster, who de-committed from Missouri earlier this week. Foster, who is from Montgomery, grew up a major Alabama fan.
There’s also the possibility that Alabama just takes two quarterbacks in 2019 if it misses on Jones, Williams or McKee.
I don’t think that’s going to happen, though. I think Alabama will get Jones or Williams.
