Prepare.... Ben Davis had his picture taken next to a car at a gas station, wearing a nice looking watch.

Don't let the car and watch distract you from what is really important... he is wearing cargo pants.

Couple of recruiting tidbits from yesterday:

- Clay Webb spent time with Brent Key on the field before the game.

- Penei Sewell and Cameron Latu were hanging out together.

- Ansley was with Emory Jones on the sideline.

- Paul Tyson was seen speaking to Joe Namath on the sideline. I bet that was an interesting conversation.

Here is how members of AL.com’s 2017 A-List of top senior recruits in the state performed in Week 9:

1. Justyn Ross, WR, Central-Phenix City: Ross returned a punt 57 yards to set up a field goal and also had a 40-yard TD reception as the Red Devils beat Lee-Montgomery 52-30 on Saturday morning.

2. Jalyn Armour-Davis, CB, St. Paul’s: The four-star Alabama commit did not play against Vigor due to injury. His team lost 27-20.

3. Coynis Miller, DL, Jackson-Olin: The Auburn commit scored on a 2-yard TD run, but his team lost badly, 46-14 to Hueytown. He came out of the game after the half with an injury and didn't return.

4. Asa Martin, RB, Austin: The Auburn commit ran for three TDs and caught an 89-yard TD pass for another as his team defeated Muscle Shoals 42-14.

5. Seth Williams, WR, Paul Bryant: Caught two passes for 83 yards and a touchdown in his team’s 25-20 win over Bessemer City.

6. Harold Joiner, RB, Mountain Brook: Did not play as his team beat Oak Mountain 31-28.

7. Jack West, QB, Saraland: Completed 14-of-24 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. He also was intercepted once in his team’s 34-7 loss to Spanish Fort.

8. Andres Fox, DL, Mobile Christian: Fox had five tackles, one assist, one sack and four QB hurries, but his team lost its second straight game, 21-14 at Clarke County.

9. Shedrick Jackson, WR, Hoover: The Auburn commit caught six passes for 77 yards in the Bucs’ 17-7 victory over Vestavia Hills.

10. Tank Jenkins, OL, Park Crossing: Helped pave the way for a 34-19 victory at Sidney Lanier.

11. James Foster, QB, Sidney Lanier: Foster was 10-of-25 for 236 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He was intercepted once and ran for 15 yards. He was ejected with 14 seconds left in the third quarter for a personal foul. Lanier lost 34-19 to Park Crossing.

12. Myles Mason, DB, Hewitt-Trussville: Did not play in his team’s game at Huntsville. It was the third straight game he missed due to injury.

13. Tae Provens, RB, Madison County: Rushed eight times for 59 yards in a 21-14 loss to Sardis.

14. Allen Love, DL, Huffman: The Ole Miss commit’s team was beaten soundly by unbeaten Thompson, 41-8.

A commitment this weekend would be nice.

I think we'll pick up at least a couple commitments in the next couple weeks. My "prediction" is Sewell soon, and Bobby Brown in early November on whichever date he's supposed to commit.

I was at the game yesterday. Saw several recruits. Ekiyor and Sewell impressive on the hoof. Ekiyor isn't tall, but is built like Chance Warmack (VERY good interior lineman build). I didn't spot Bobby Brown. Was a VERY good second half atmosphere. If recruits at the game weren't highly impressed by that, then they're not going to be impressed with much of anything. I've been to several SEC stadiums, and Bryant-Denny was rocking in the 2nd half.

3714,
Saban has a plan for everything, have you heard what his plan for Tua is going forward? Barring injury, it appears Hurts has the job locked up through at least next season & likely the next 2 seasons. What is the plan to keep Tua onboard?

This has nothing to do with recruiting.

I'm hearing some rumblings of a two QB system, but everyone will think that the chances of that happening are close to 0. Who knows. Saban has shown that he can adapt. I honestly have no idea if this is something that's legitimately possible for next year.

Tua looks to be a very rare arm talent, though. I'm not sure that there's a college QB right now that can make the kind of throws that he makes with such accuracy, outside of maybe Rosen. I realize he's usually coming in when Bama's way ahead, but several of them are "wow" throws. And he also seems fairly cool under pressure, and can run. I'm sure they'll figure something out.

Didn't wanna make a new thread for it. If Penn State beats tOSU I think they may be #1 in the first CFBP Poll. Not that it matters, top 4 in the final poll is what matters. Still, just a thought. Could be used as motivation for the team.

Tua has not seen an elite defense period. He hasn't seen time in a real game period. Jalen has. That's the difference

The seeding does matter. If rather play #4 seed rather than #3 seed. But SEC championship game could be tough as it gets

I don't want to play TCU in the first round, and honestly, I'd rather not play them in the finals
They would give our defense fits.
