Alabama currently has the nation’s No. 24 recruiting class and the ninth best in the SEC, according to the 247Sports composite. The Crimson Tide only have 11 commitments, so for them to be ranked that highly shows how elite this class already is.
Coach Nick Saban said the team can only sign 22 Class of 2018 recruits because of the delayed enrollment in the 2017 class of center Hunter Brannon, kicker Joseph Bulovas and Jack linebacker Jarez Parks. Brannon and Bulovas were blueshirted and Parks was greyshirted.
How will Alabama fill out the rest of its 2018 class on the offensive side of the ball? Here are SEC Country’s latest projections:

QB: Jarren Williams
Analysis: Jarren Williams de-committed from Kentucky only to re-commit to the Wildcats, but another de-commitment could soon come. Williams is the leader and face of Kentucky’s recruiting class, but he has been listening to Alabama over the past few weeks and months. He visited Tuscaloosa for the Ole Miss game, where he received lots of face time with the coaching staff and even spoke with athletic director Greg Byrne. I think it’s likely that either Williams or Ohio State quarterback Emory Jones flips. Right now, I’m leaning toward Williams being the guy.

RB: Jerome Ford
Analysis: Jerome Ford says South Florida leads for him, but if Alabama pushes for a commitment, then it’s hard to imagine him passing on the Crimson Tide for the Bulls. Ford is the team’s top uncommitted target at the position right now. The Tide are expected to send an assistant to Ford’s game this Friday.

WR: Jaylen Waddle, Xavier Williams*
Analysis: Xavier Williams is committed to Alabama and hasn’t made any intentions of changing his commitment. He’s actively recruiting for the Crimson Tide.
Jaylen Waddle is Alabama’s top slot receiver target. Waddle, from Bellaire, Texas, has visited Tuscaloosa three times since early summer. He was last at Alabama for the Ole Miss game and will return for an official visit for the LSU game. At this point, it would be surprising if he didn’t commit to Alabama.

TE: Luke Ford
Analysis: Luke Ford told SEC Country last week that Alabama, Georgia and Michigan are now tied at the top of his recruitment; however, Ford was in Tuscaloosa this past weekend for the Arkansas game. It wouldn’t be a shock to see Alabama alone at the top now. It should be noted that Ford has said that he wants to play with 5-star quarterback Justin Fields in college. Fields committed to Georgia earlier this month.

OL: Tommy Brown*, Emil Ekiyor, Penei Sewell
Analysis: Tommy Brown’s father, Vince, graduated from Alabama in the early 1980s. Once Tommy received his offer from his father’s alma mater, it was only a matter of time before he committed, which he did July 21. He won’t be flipping.
Emil Ekiyor took an official visit to Alabama for the Ole Miss game, and sources close to the program feel like they have a very good shot at flipping Ekiyor from his commitment to Michigan. If Ekiyor and Sewell both want to commit to Alabama, you may see current Tide offensive guard/center commit Jarrett Bell look elsewhere.
While Penei Sewell won’t say it publicly, this is truly an Alabama-Oregon race. Sewell’s father has said his son is looking for the school that will give him the best chance of making it to the NFL. The Crimson Tide have sent more offensive linemen to the league than the Ducks.
Confidence level: 65 percent
No Jarrett Bell.

SEC Country's Mock Offensive Signing Class for LSU
quote:
RB: Chris Curry, Tae Provens, Harold Joiner
Analysis: Both Chris Curry and Tae Provens are solid in their commitments, and LSU very well could sign these two running backs and bolster their backfield depth in a big way. The elephant in the room remains Harold Joiner. The 4-star Alabama native named LSU as his leader, but that was before the Crimson Tide began to dial up the pressure on the in-state target. While Joiner maintains that the Tigers are out in front, Alabama remains a major X-factor.
Confidence Level: 60 percent

ATH: Justin Watkins
Analysis: Justin Watkins, a one-time LSU pledge early in his recruitment, has again been connected to LSU and could make a decision between the Tigers and Alabama before December. The LSU staff has been working hard behind the scenes in luring the 4-star athlete back into the fold and remains in a strong position as a decision approaches.

SEC Country's Mock Offensive Signing Class for Auburn
quote:
Wide receiver (4): 4-star WR Matthew Hill (Snellville, Ga.), 3-star WR Shedrick Jackson (Hoover, Ala.), 4-star WR Seth Williams (Tuscaloosa, Ala.)
I didn’t change anything here, though there’s less certainty than a month ago.
Seth Williams has been in my projection for a couple months, and there was often a high level of confidence with that selection. It’s still there, but it’s diminished some. Why? He hasn’t visited for an Auburn game yet this year. He was scheduled to be at Alabama last weekend, but I haven’t confirmed his presence. As long as Alabama fills up at wide receiver, Auburn should be able to secure him.
Shedrick Jackson is as solid as can be.
Matthew Hill has shopped around some. He’s been at a few Clemson games to start the season. He’ll likely take all five of his official visits. But this is just a prospect enjoying the process. Hill grew up an Auburn fan, and nothing has changed there.
As for the missing prospects below, there are two Auburn likely sits No. 2 for. These players could end up as the fourth guy in the class if they were to change their minds or if other receiver classes fill up.
Not in the class: Justyn Ross, Anthony Schwartz, Tommy Bush
quote:
Tight end (1): 3-star TE Michael Parker (Huntsville, Ala.)
Michael Parker and Tyneil Hopper both visited for the Mississippi State game, which was a sign of where Auburn was looking at tight end.
Every projection I’ve done this recruiting cycle had Parker or Hopper as the pick.
This time around, I’m riding with Parker, who made the last couple projections. Parker appears to be the more coveted of the two from Auburn’s side, which ultimately might be the difference-maker. He has several family ties to Alabama, so Auburn is conscious of the potential for a late Crimson Tide offer that alters the landscape with Parker.
For now, I see Alabama landing a more high-profile tight end prospect, and that’s OK with Auburn. The Tigers get their guy.
Not in the class: Tyneil Hopper, Luke Ford, Nic McTear, Dominick Wood-Anderson

Is it me or do we always have a possible flip from Ohio st. that we never get? I dont think Baron Browning was a flip, just think he chose them over us

It's likely. They have the same problem as us. Everyone wants our hat on the table and people flip from us because our roster is so stacked.

Shaun Wade was one I wanted. He could be starting this year and definitely would next year

We flipped Terrell (Hall) Lewis from them a few years ago.

Almost 2 months until the early signing period, things should start to heat up in recruiting.
Unless Bama just plans to sign 11 players this year.
