As far as DBs, what about Horn or Dean being back in play after Tennessee burns to the ground?

We would have to miss out on the DB's that's in front of them. Horn wanted to come to Bama but he couldn't commit

He needs to lose about 35 pounds to come in as overweight as Da'Ron Payne did.

Michael Parker, TE, Westminster Christian

6-foot-6, 230 pounds, 3 stars

Parker's biggest offer is Auburn. Should Alabama offer, it would likely become the favorite as Parker's brother, Jacob, is a senior walk-on tight end for the Tide. The younger Parker visited Auburn for the Mississippi State game. He's expected to make an unofficial visit to Purdue, which was the first Power Five school to offer, in the near future.

Jalen Cunningham, DT, St. Clair County

6-foot-6, 315 pounds, 3 stars

Cunningham grew up an Alabama fan and the Tide are the perceived favorite. Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Auburn are among the others in the chase. Cunningham, who had foot surgery in the offseason, visited Alabama on Sept. 10, according to 247Sports. He also went to Atlanta to see the Tide's season-opening win against Florida State.

Timaje Porter, DT, Theodore

6-foot-2, 344 pounds, 3 stars

Porter's recruitment has seen a couple of close calls. He was expected to choose between Auburn and LSU in March, but held off. Porter told AL.com in July that his leaders were Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, then he set a commitment date of Aug. 25 to decide between those two schools and Florida State. An announcement did not come. Porter told AL.com's Ben Thomas this week that Alabama and Auburn have shown increased interest. Porter added that his current focus is helping Theodore reach the playoffs.

I would be giddy with that. A couple people that I know have seen him play and raved about him. Said he moves incredibly well for his size. I'm almost completely finished with my desire to take guys that weigh over 340 on the DL, but this is my exception here. Everyone seems to rave about him.

Coynis Miller almost assuredly not choosing Alabama

Coynis Miller has been a major Alabama target for about a year now. The in-state defensive tackle grew up a Crimson Tide fan, but it doesn’t look like that will be enough to land his commitment this Saturday.

Miller hasn’t been in SEC Country’s mock signing class since August. He had made comments around that time about Auburn and Florida being ahead of Alabama, and after digging around at the time of his remarks, it turned out to be true.

It’s surprising because defensive tackle is one of Alabama’s biggest needs in this class, and early playing time is definitely obtainable next season.

Even though Florida is Miller’s public leader, expect him to commit to Auburn this Saturday. Here’s what SEC Country’s Auburn recruiting reporter Ben Wolk had to say about Miller’s upcoming decision:

“Relationships are everything in recruiting, and at Auburn, Coynis Miller has many. It started with the Tigers being the first Power 5 team to offer back in June of 2016 when Auburn defensive line coach Rodney Garner was recruiting now-Tigers defensive lineman T.D. Moultry. As other programs have caught on, Garner and Auburn have always been there. Garner is one of the most proven closers on the recruiting trail, and he’s never an easy position coach to turn down — especially for someone like Miller, who has been so close to Garner for two full recruiting cycles.

“On top of that, Miller’s former high school teammate, Moultry, ended up at Auburn. Moultry isn’t the type to tell Miller what’s in his own best interests, but the connection won’t hurt. Neither will the fact Miller’s high school coach Tim Vakakes — someone Miller respects and trusts dearly — is an Auburn grad. Last but not least, Miller has a long-standing friendship with Auburn running back commit Asa Martin dating back to his time in Decatur, Ala., before moving to Birmingham, and Miller seems to like the Tigers’ chances of landing their top defensive prospect remaining. In the end, Miller’s many connections to Auburn will be too tough to overlook.”

A dude on BOL who knows this Vakakes fella in real life says he is the main reason Miller is going to Auburn. He's apparently a huge believer in pushing his players to the Plains. As always, TIFWIW.
