TE: Luke Ford
Analysis: Luke Ford makes his debut in our projections after Dominick Wood-Anderson committed to Texas. Wood-Anderson had told the Alabama staff the morning of his commitment that he was going to choose the Crimson Tide only to commit to the Longhorns. Ford has said that Alabama leads for him, and that hasn’t changed, but he is also considering Georgia. He has said he wants to play with 5-star quarterback Justin Fields in college. If Fields chooses Georgia, Ford to the Bulldogs becomes a strong possibility.

OL: Jarrett Bell*, Tommy Brown*, Penei Sewell
Analysis: Jarrett Bell committed to Alabama on Aug. 7, earning an offer from the Tide in July after a dominant performance at camp. Bell will either play center or guard in college.
Tommy Brown’s father, Vince, graduated from Alabama in the early 1980s. Once Tommy got his offer from his father’s alma mater, it was only a matter of time before he committed, which he did July 21. He won’t be flipping.
While Penei Sewell won’t say it publicly, this is truly an Alabama-Oregon race. Sewell’s father has said his son is looking for the school that will give him the best chance of making it to the NFL. The Crimson Tide have sent more offensive linemen to the league than the Ducks.

I actually think Tommy Bush might be the better WR prospect than Ross at this point. While you don't want to miss on a top in-state guy with a lot of upside, I'm not sure that Bush isn't even better. About the same size, faster, and more productive at the same stage.

Well, I'm on my phone, and accidentally gave myself a downvote.
I probably deserve more of them for my clumsiness now.

I just wanted to share this tweet from the the Jacksonville PD. Mostly because I'm impressed by the thieves

These two were caught stealing a JEA pole just this morning! Citizens watching out and officers cleaning up = partnership!

What's the market for a used JEA pole?
Posted on 9/13/17 at 2:21 pm to phaz
Would imagine you would need a fairly shady scrap metal dealer to purchase.
"Let's see, I've got three large bags of crushed aluminum cans. Oh, I almost forgot, I've also got a JEA pole on top of my KIA that I ended up not needing."

I bet they were counting on making a cool 13 bucks. Those evil masterminds

Any new news from the Penei Sewell camp?
From @WCTideFans
I talked with Gabriel Sewell, Penei’s father, Tuesday night after you asked this question. Here’s the latest:
- Penei, a 4-star offensive lineman from Saint George, Utah, has a torn labrum. Sewell is playing with the injury and is planning on having surgery after his season ends. Much like what Mack Wilson did coming out of high school.
- Because of the injury, Sewell has decided to really focus on enjoying his senior season and putting his recruitment on the back burner.
- Alabama and Oregon are still the favorites at this time, according to the elder Sewell.
- The family is planning on taking an official visit to Alabama on Nov. 4 for the LSU game. But, Sewell and his family aren’t locking in that date just yet because that Friday is supposed to be the first round of Utah’s state playoffs. Depending on the time of the LSU game, the Sewells are planning on taking the first flight out of Salt Lake City to Birmingham to make the game. Gabriel Sewell said if they make it to Tuscaloosa for the game, that will likely be the final visit before a commitment, which will come in mid-November.
- Sewell took his first official visit this past weekend to Nevada, where his brothers play. Nevada really isn’t a factor here, though.Things are still looking good for Alabama landing Sewell’s commitment when he makes his decision.

Who are the top targets on the DL?
From @insider_alabama
It’s important for Alabama to hit on its top targets on the defensive line because depth isn’t loaded moving forward. The names to know on the defensive line are 4-star prospects Coynis Miller, junior college target Caleb Tremblay and Bobby Brown. Jalen Cunningham, a 3-star in-state prospect, also is a name to know. Cunningham will commit to Alabama if given the green light. The Tide also have a commitment from Stephon Wynn Jr.
Right now, I see Alabama getting Wynn, Tremblay, Brown, and, if there’s space, Cunningham.

Is Alabama trying to get more CBs?
From @Chevycamaroz
Absolutely. This is arguably the most important position in the 2018 class for Alabama because only two cornerbacks return next season in Trevon Diggs and Nigel Knott.
The plan is to take either three or four cornerbacks. My prediction on Alabama’s secondary in the 2018 class is Jalyn Armour-Davis, Tyson Campbell, Nadab Joseph and Saivion Smith.

Where do we stand with Josh Jobe?
From @michaelmore41
Alabama is still in the mix for the Miami commitment. Jobe is one of the Tide’s top cornerback targets. Jobe is focusing on Alabama, Miami and Michigan. The good news is that he’s no longer living in Miami, so the pressure from his community isn’t as strong as what it would be if he was still in South Florida.
He transferred to Cheshire Academy in Connecticut because he was no longer eligible to play high school football in Florida because he’s 19.
The Tide are likely going to get an official visit from Jobe this fall, and we’ll see where things stand at that point. But, Alabama is squarely in the mix for him.

Is Alabama recruiting a quarterback for this class?
From @awesome_malcolm
Yes, Alabama is recruiting a quarterback. The two main names to know are 4-star prospects Tanner McKee and Emory Jones. McKee is essentially a Class of 2020 prospect because he’s doing a two-year Mormon mission after graduating from high school. Jones is committed to Ohio State, but Alabama is working hard on flipping him from the Buckeyes.

Any idea why Alabama is behind on recruiting for the 2018 class?
From @CrimsonBlood81
Alabama is currently ranked 28th in the nation and has the 10th-best recruiting class in the SEC, but the Crimson Tide are not struggling. Sure, they’ve missed on some top targets, such as Asa Martin, along with 5-star running back Zamir White, 3-star tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson and a few others. But, the majority of the team’s targets are uncommitted.
The team is taking its time with evaluating its top targets because it’s going to be a smaller class because Hunter Brannon, Joseph Bulovas and Jarez Parks count against the 2018 class because of blueshirting and greyshirting.
