Quotes from Terrace Marshall's father:
quote:
"(Alabama) would have always been in his top group, but communication was lost when they changed wide receiver coaches," Marshall Sr. told BamaOnLine. "But we talked to the staff and they explained the ordeal, so we got back on track and now they are being considered."
New wide receivers coach Mike Locksley now stays in frequent contact with the Marshall family, and the message is clear.
"They are saying he is a priority," Marshall Sr. said.

quote:
Jacobi Bellazin, WR, Livonia (La.)
Bellazin made a commitment to TCU, but backed off that pledge in lieu of a national offer flurry. A wide receiver with pure speed and one who already looks like a college athlete.
Kevontre Bradford, ATH, Lancaster (Texas)
A speedy athlete who will most likely settle in at wide receiver. Bradford garnered his first offer from Baylor, one day before picking up his second offer, which came from Texas Tech.
Quin Bright, WR, Cedar Hill (Texas)
Cedar Hill is set to reload and it is the Class of 2020 that is shining bright with talent. Bright will be a weapon in the slot who will be a mismatch for linebackers and defensive backs to limit because of his pure speed.
Ashaad Clayton, RB, New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton
Early offers from Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee make him one of the top young running back prospects nationally. Those schools seem to know a thing or two about running backs.
Demond Demas, WR, North Forest (Texas)
Demas will contend for the top spot in the state of Texas by the time the numerical rankings are released. He has the blend of size and speed that college coaches will all fall in love with. He already has in-state P5 offers from Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech among others.
Kelvontay Dixon, WR, Carthage (Texas)
The younger brother of Texas running back commit Keaontay Ingram, Dixon is looking to help lead Carthage back to the state championship game. He is one that many in-state schools covet. Expect to see some big offers next to his name sooner than later.
Dustin Dyson, TE/DE, Hammond (La.) St. Thomas Aquinas
Already with offers from LSU and Mississippi State on the board Dyson is one of those guys who has the "it" factor and size to be a high level recruit on either side of the football.
Zachary Evans, RB, Galena Park (Texas) North Shore
Evans already has reported offers from schools like Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, and Texas A&M. This puts him in line to be one of the most heavily anticipated prospects to see on varsity tape this fall.
T.J. Finley, QB, Ponchatoula (La.)
It is fair to say that the 6-foot-5, 204-pounder got his growth spurt early. He also got an early start with his offer list as Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, and Mississippi State have already stepped to the plate. He also has his first Crystal Ball prediction in for LSU.
Courtland Ford, OT, Cedar Hill (Texas)
Keep an eye out on this monster from the TXHSFB powerhouse. Ford is an athletic specimen at offensive tackle and already massive. He will be one of the best in Texas regardless of class and Baylor has already offered.
Ja'Quinden Jackson, ATH, Duncanville (Texas)
Jackson will likely be playing quarterback, but is likely to get a lot of looks at wide receiver in college. Duncanville should have one of the best teams in the state. Baylor, Missouri, and Oklahoma have already offered.
Jordan Jefferson, OG, Navasota (Texas) - Committed to Texas A&M
Jefferson is already standing out playing left tackle, one of the toughest positions to master. He has a nasty streak and is strong at the point of contact, often pushing defenders to the ground. It is easy to see why Texas A&M offered.
Lorando Johnson, CB, Lancaster (Texas)
Johnson is one of those guys playing cornerback who you can classify as having the 'dog' in them. He is very aggressive and has the skills and size to lock up the oppositons top wide receiver threat.
Tren Jones, ATH, Arp (Texas)
The younger brother of Class of 2018 Texas commit Demarvion Overshown. Jones has already picked up his first offer from Baylor.
Jase McClellan, RB, Aledo (Texas)
McClellan burst on the scene helping to lead Aledo (Texas) High to a state championship win. McClellan was named the offensive player of the championship game after rushing for 98 yards on 13 carries. He finished the season with 1,528 yards and 20 touchdowns and was named the Scout All-Midlands Freshman of the Year. McClellan is committed to Oklahoma.
R.J. Mickens, CB, Southlake (Texas) Carroll
Mickens -- the son of Texas A&M defensive back Ray Mickens -- burst on the scene as a freshman starting at Southlake Carroll. he is te first freshman I can recall to get that honor since I have been covering the team. He earned All-District honors too. He has already secured an offer from A&M as well as almost all of the other top schools in the nation.
Koy Moore, WR, Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel
Moore should make an excellent 1-2 punch at receiver with JaMarr Chase at Rummel. He has already secured scholarship offers from Georgia and LSU. Look for more to come calling once they get an extended look at his game on tape.
Andrew Raym, OT, Broken Arrow (Okla.)
Many got the chance to see Raym line up on national television as his first game of his sophomore season was broadcast on ESPN. He has already picked up offers from schools like Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
Drew Sanders, ATH, Colleyville (Texas) Heritage
Sanders made the move to Colleyville Heritage and out of all the players on this list he is likely the most physically impressive at this point in his development. Sanders is listed as an athlete, but we expect him to end up being a QB prospect heading to the next level.
E.J. Smith, RB, Dallas (Texas) Jesuit
The son of Dallas Cowboys great Emmitt Smith. E.J. is set for his breakout year on the gridiron and establishing his own spotlight. He already has some highlight clips that have went viral.
Darius Snow, S, Lewisville (Texas) Hebron
The son of former Michigan State and NBA hoopster Eric Snow. Darius is not a name that many people know about yet, but that will change as Hebron is line to have a huge season and Snow will play a role in it.
Collin Sullivan, WR, Round Rock (Texas)
Sullivan first burst on to the recruiting scene as an eighth grader at the Sound Mind Sound Body camp in Houston and he has since developed into a recruiting candidate who would be a good addition for any program on and off the field.
Branard Wright, DT, Dallas (Texas) Carter
I expect Wright to have a breakout year on the field and with his recruitment. Oregon was his first Power Five conference offer, but it will not be his last.
Dwight McGlothern, CB, New Caney (Texas)
McGlothern aready has one of the most elite offer lists in the Lone Star State that was recently bolstered by an offer fro m Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He is a lock-down corner.

Tyson Campbell should be Alabama’s No. 1 overall target
After Alabama signed arguably the best class on paper in the Nick Saban era, the coach stood at the podium during his press conference on National Signing Day and expressed disappointment with one area.
“We obviously try to identify needs that we have each year and I think in this class we sort of hit every spot but one,” Saban said. “We wanted to recruit at least one corner, maybe two. It just worked out that it didn’t happen that way for us.”
Kyriq McDonald was listed as a corner in the 2017 class, but he’s not expected to play any of the boundary corner spots during his time in Tuscaloosa. Alabama had a commitment from junior college prospect Jhavonte Dean, but the Crimson Tide dropped him after a mediocre season. Alabama was also recruiting Ohio State corner Shaun Wade. The Tide decided to not strongly pursue him late in the process.
With Anthony Averett, Levi Wallace and Tony Brown exhausting their eligibility after this season and Minkah Fitzpatrick a likely candidate to declare for the NFL draft, cornerback is, in my opinion, the one position group Alabama cannot miss on in the 2018 class.
Here’s a look at the possible depth chart in 2018 at corner:
LCB/RCB: Trevon Diggs, junior (in 2018) and Nigel Knott, redshirt sophomore
Star: Shyheim Carter, junior; Kyriq McDonald, likely a redshirt freshman
That’s it. Guys can emerge later on, obviously, but that’s what Alabama may be working with heading into next year at corner and star. Pretty empty cupboard.
That’s why Tyson Campbell, a 5-star cornerback from American Heritage High School (Plantation, Fla.), should be considered Alabama’s No. 1 overall recruiting target in the 2018 class. One source planted inside Alabama’s program told SEC Country that he’s the team’s top target at corner, which makes him an absolute priority.
He’s told SEC Country that the lack of corners Alabama has on its roster is a good thing for him.
“That can influence my decision,” Campbell said. “Early playing time, come in early, learn the system and get on the field.”
Campbell will visit Atlanta this weekend for the Tide’s game Saturday against Florida State, but he will not be allowed to talk with coaches. Recruits are not permitted to interact with coaches while at neutral site games, but they are allowed to be given tickets. While it’s a negative that he can’t speak with the staff, seeing the team up close in what’s being called the greatest opener ever, isn’t a bad thing for Alabama, especially if the team wins.
The nation’s No. 3 corner is also expected to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa this fall. A date has not been set yet, but it will happen.
Even though he only visited Tuscaloosa once this summer — back in late July — he actually got face time with the Alabama staff on two occasions. Campbell met with the coaching staff at a satellite camp held at Florida International. He and his family spent time with Saban while there, and the Tide only increased their standing with the elite prospect when he made it to Tuscaloosa in July.
It should be noted that Alabama turned down a commitment from 4-star corner, Under Armour All-American Jaycee Horn. Horn tried to commit to the Tide twice but was turned away. Now, why would Alabama turn down an All-American? Well, usually, that means the team feels confident with where it stands with a player higher on the board. That player may just be Campbell.
He’s in no rush to make a final decision.
“I’m just taking it day by day,” Campbell said of his recruitment. “It’s a fun process, but at the same time it’s a tough one. You’re making a decision that can dictate your future. Your life can change in the next three or four years, so I am taking my time to make sure I’m making the right decision.”

Underclassman has ties to Alabama but no Tide offer just yet
This kid has 3 years left of high school football to play.
quote:
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Stephen Dix may or may not get the opportunity to follow in his cousin’s footsteps. There’s no reason for him to sweat that just yet.
A relative of Alabama alum Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, the class-of-2020 linebacker hasn’t received an offer from Crimson Tide just yet. Ask Dix about that, however, and he seems to least somewhat confident about it’s eventual arrival.
“I talked to Nick Saban,” Dix said on Thursday. “He says that they are going to end up recruiting me, but they haven’t offered or anything. That might not happen any time soon.”
For now, however, Dix is concerned with his high school career and his current college options. Teams such as Mississippi State, Tennessee, Indiana and FAU have already offered the linebacker-defensive end hybrid. As far as favorites go, however, that’s a conversation for next year.
“I’m just looking around,” Dix said. “Right now, they’re just offers. I don’t really favor any of them.”
There is, of course, a wildcard in play. Dix grew up a rabid Florida State fan and doesn’t shy away from the fact that he’d like to land an offer from the Seminoles. So far, nothing on that front has budged. But if FSU gets involved, Jimbo Fisher’s program will insert itself into the thick of the race.
“I grew up liking FSU,” Dix said. “As a kid I just always wanted to go play there. They haven’t reached out yet. They haven’t hit me up.”
Dix, who attends Orlando’s Dr. Philips High School, is one of the top sophomores on the roster. Rivals.com is yet to rank the 2020 class so he remains unranked for the time being.
IN HIS WORDS:
-- “I’m probably gonna chill right now. I don’t have many visits in mind this year.”
-- “I’m just now starting to play defensive end. I’ve always played linebacker. So I don’t know where I’ll play in college I guess it just depends.”
RIVALS REACTION: There’s no way to guess where Dix’s recruitment may end or how many twists and turns are in store. The only thing that seems obvious now is that Alabama and Florida State would be among the major players should they offer. It also stands to reason that Tennessee and Mississippi State, both of which got involved early, shouldn’t be counted out.

This is what I don't get, Saint. Why not just take them both? I doubt it would affect the other corners we are recruiting. If Dean wants to commit then let him. It shouldn't scare Campbell because he knows he's the top priority and they both might see the field together as opposed to fighting for one spot.

AuburnUndercover presents Auburn’s 10 most wanted prospects for the class of 2018. To compile this, we’ve considered where each player sits on the Auburn board, Auburn's need at the position, the Tigers' chances of landing the prospect as well as the player’s skill set. This list is extremely fluid. In recruiting, things can change on both sides in an instant. At this time, Auburn’s recruiting board continues to shift (so look for this list to change dramatically in the future). New offers have gone out monthly. After a flurry of action, Auburn has 13 commitments at the moment. At this time, we expect the Tigers to sign slightly fewer than the max (without back-counting) of 25 but the exact target won’t be known for several months.

1. Justin Fields, QB: Even though Auburn already has a quarterback on the commit list (Joey Gatewood), the transfers of backups Woody Barrett and Tyler Queen have made it important to land another. Fields is the top target. It's a three-team race between Auburn, FSU and Georgia. Most of the chatter is about the 'Noles and Dawgs, but Auburn remains a contender. Fields said he plans to watch these teams closely this season before making a decision. Could a big year from the Tigers help? Fields will attend the FSU-Alabama on Saturday. No word yet if he'll attend any Auburn games.

2. Coynis Miller, DT: Miller calls Florida his leader with Auburn in the No. 2 spot -- but the Tigers have a good shot to pull this off. He has visited Auburn more than any other program and that helps. So does the fact former teammate Tadarian Moultry plays for the Tigers. Miller probably won't announce a decision until after the season. He's arguably Auburn's most important defensive target.
Good. Let's get him on campus as many times as possible this season.
