Recruits who could commit to Alabama in August
quote:
TE Dominick Wood-Anderson
The nation's No. 1 junior college tight end will announce his college decision on Tuesday. His finalists include Alabama, Louisville, and Texas. The Tide got the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder on campus last and looks to be in good position to land Wood-Anderson on Tuesday.

WR Slade Bolden
The three-star all-purpose back will announce a decision later this week between Alabama and TCU. The Horned Frogs hold a major lead on the Crystal Ball as it stands. Bolden visited and camped in Tuscaloosa last month for the first time, greatly impressing the staff in the process. New offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has compared the 5-foot-11, 198-pounder to guys he's coached in New England like Julian Edelman.

LB Cameron Latu
The four-star weak-side defensive end will announce his college decision on Friday. The Salt Lake City (Utah) Olympus product has visited Tuscaloosa three times this year, including a recent trip for the Champions Cookout. The Tide is trending on the Crystal Ball.

S Myles Mason
Mason camped at Alabama twice last month, performing well both times. The in-state safety who recently transferred to Hewitt-Trussville has been trending to Alabama on the Crystal Ball since earning an offer two years ago. If given the green light, it's hard to imagine Mason not in the class. He hopes to make a decision before the end of the summer.

RB Asa Martin
Martin will make his college decision on Aug. 24 between Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, and Florida. Earlier in the spring, the Gators led with Auburn slightly behind. Since the Tide offered at A-Day in April, and made the Decatur (Ala.) Austin product more of a priority, it has seemingly seized momentum.

WR Kearis Jackson
Georgia looks like the team to beat for the Peach State product's Aug. 19 announcement, but Alabama is a finalist for the four-star wideout, and is one of the last programs to get him on campus prior to the dead period.

ATH Vernon Jackson
Alabama is the trending team for the three-star athlete from Texas. The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder plays quarterback for Boling High, but can project anywhere from running back, H-back, tight end, linebacker, or defensive end at the next level. The Tide got Jackson on campus for four days last month. He'll make a college decision on Aug. 26. Texas A&M looks to be the top competition.

DT Coynis Miller
The four-star defensive lineman from Jackson-Olin in Birmingham had hoped to make a decision in August, but now may wait until the fall and take some official visits. Regardless, Miller is one to watch this month as Alabama, Auburn, and Florida duke it out for his commitment.

quote:
OT Penei Sewell
The Utah product visited Tuscaloosa in June and left "all Alabama" according to a couple sources. A recent Oregon visit has the Ducks squarely in the mix now as well. Sewell hopes to make a college decision before the end of the summer.

quote:
WR Jacob Copeland
Florida looks to have the edge for the four-star receiver, but it's Alabama who got him on campus Monday before the dead period kicked in. Copeland has allegedly already filmed a commitment video and is expected to make an announcement soon. Florida State is the other team in the mix.
Copeland actually got to Tuscaloosa on Sunday and spent the night.

CB Jaycee Horn
Horn was set to announce a commitment on July 15 between Alabama and South Carolina, before deciding to hold off with increasing pressure from Tennessee. The NFL legacy has not ruled out a spontaneous commitment in the past.

Could be a solid haul this week. Wood-Anderson, Latu, and Copeland?
If it means we still get Luke Ford, then I'm okay with this haul.
I think taking Wood-Anderson over Ford is a mistake.

It's interesting that Tim Watts hasn't put in a CB for DWA.
The main Louisville mod hasn't flipped his either.

Today is the day official offers can be extended for the Class of 2018. I'll try to post the ones I see throughout the day.

really? top 15 player in the country is a take? you don't say!
Well he wasn't pursued by OSU all that much due to the other targets they felt better about. So he was a take but he wasn't realistic.
OSU didn't even make his top 5, so as I said, not really a realistic option.
I think those 3 guys are the top 3 guys OSU is targeting at the position, and would be happy with 2/3 or all 3 of them, and won't sweat losing out on Henry. I think because of the lack of mutual interest, they are all higher on the staff's board

Why the low confidence in Andrew Chatfield being in the class some NSD? He's a missile off the edge.

Alabama remains in the mix to sign Clemmons, N.C., defensive end K.J. Henry.
The five-star recruit released a top five Monday of Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson and Virginia Tech.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Henry is the nation's No. 14 overall recruit, No. 2 weak side defensive end and No. 2 prospect in North Carolina.
Henry is being recruited by Alabama as an outside linebacker. He visited Alabama in early June.
"It's always been high (interest)," Henry said at The Opening in July. "Coach Tosh (Lupoi) and coach (Nick) Saban have been really good to me in the process. Getting down there and communicating with them has been a really good process."
Henry said then that Virginia Tech was actually recruiting him the hardest.
