Curious what you guys are hearing on Quay Walker? There are some feelings on AU & I believe UGA's side that he's not solid. He's visiting AU today for our picnic/cookout thing
I was a little confused when we took his commitment to be honest.
He supposedly has some character issues that needed to be vetted before we took his verbal so I guess they were.
Now with Brandon Kaho seemingly being very interested in flipping, maybe Walker sees a better path to playing time in Auburn.

Jones isn't my #1 pick for QB in this class
Going to be nearly impossible to get whoever is with Tua in front of him.

LONNNNGGG way to go to be a top notch QB, though.
Sounds like the type of guy we need in this class, as long as they are aware of the work they need to do.

From AU's SECCountry guy. Not gonna get my hopes up just yet but don't usually see Bama commits doing that to AU
Like I said above he may see the writing on the wall regarding the other LBs we are going to land.

I agree.
We need a Blake Sims type guy who is willing to wait his turn and be coached up.

Heads up, Tom Loy just put in CB pick for Emory Jones to Bama. He's a ND guy but has a solid CB track record
Interesting.
Jones gave an interview to 247 regarding his visit to Ohio State yesterday and it didn't exactly sound very good for OSU.

Emory Jones took a secret visit to Tuscaloosa this past week for Alabama’s camp. At the time, he denied being on campus to both Alabama and Ohio State reporters. On Friday, he came clean on his presence in Tuscaloosa.
Jones, a 4-star quarterback from Heard County High School (Franklin, Ga.), was in Columbus, Ohio, Friday night for Ohio State’s Friday Night Lights camp. That visit was Jones’ third trip to Columbus — a significant amount for a player from the South.
He’s visited Tuscaloosa at least twice, but he’s saying all the right things when it comes to his interest in Alabama.
“I’m just taking everything from them and just listening to it,” Jones told Land of 10’s Ryan Ginn. “Right now if I was considering it, I would probably go up there like two more times. But I’m just listening to them and just letting them talk.”
While Jones is saying that he’s “just listening” to Alabama, he’s still planning on visiting other schools, so Ohio State still needs to recruit him and make sure he’s solid.
“Just making sure this is the right place for me,” Jones said of why he’s planning to visit other schools. “I never had the chance to really go visit a lot of places before I committed. So I feel like I need chances to do that.
“I’m still a Buckeye. I’m still committed. There isn’t anything to worry about right now.”
The nation’s No. 3 dual-threat quarterback is planning to visit Florida soon. The Gators are the favorite to land 4-star quarterback Matt Corral, who was previously committed to Southern California.

Jones needs to take his arse up to Columbus for a game in November to get a feel for the weather up there.

2020 DL McKinnley Jackson (George County, MS) is in Tuscaloosa.
His high school coach is an Alabama fan who posts on BamaMag.
He earned a LSU offer at their camp last month and one of their recruiting mods suggested he could be the #1 player overall in his class.

Originally, Tommy Brown wanted to take his time with the recruiting process.
But three weeks after he received his offer from Alabama in early June, he decided there was no reason to wait.
Alabama is the dream school for Brown, the Crimson Tide's newest commitment and a 6-foot-7, 315-pound offensive tackle from powerhouse Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif.
He told Alabama offensive line coach Brent Key and head coach Nick Saban on the phone that he wanted to commit, but waited to go public until after he met with them personally on Friday morning.
That's when he announced. He'll follow somewhat in his father Vince's footsteps. Vince Brown threw the shot put for Alabama, graduating in 1982.
"(For his father), it was the opportunity to be around a great coach like Bear Bryant, even though he wasn't playing football," Brown said. "He had the opportunity to be around greatness and took that opportunity when it came."
For the younger Brown, he did his research and chose the Crimson Tide. His first Alabama game was at the Rose Bowl in 2010 as Alabama capped off its national championship from the 2009 season with a win over Texas.
"When it came down to it, Alabama has been my dream school since I was little," said Brown, a four-star recruit. "It seemed like the best business move for me."
Brown also wanted to keep the focus on his team this fall, which was another reason he committed at this time.
"It came down to this upcoming senior season for me," Brown said. "Our team is looking like we're going to be pretty good and I wanted to be done with all the recruiting and focus on my senior season and know that I have a spot on another great football team."
Brown said Key told him that they see him at tackle, but Brown said he would learn how to snap if it meant he could get on the field and contribute.
Now, Brown will play more of a recruiter role in this class. Alabama has offered his teammate, highly-touted 2019 quarterback J.T. Daniels.
"I'll be a little biased when I'm telling them about visits and everything," Brown said. "I'll help out and recruit all I can."
Brown will stay at Mater Dei through May. He wants to break his father's shot put record at the school. Vince Brown's record of 61 feet, four inches has stood for nearly 40 years. Tommy's best throw so far is 55 feet, 11 inches.
"He talks a lot of smack, but I think I can get it done," Brown said.
Brown has a brother who plays baseball at Cal State Fullerton and a cousin who plays football at California in Berkeley. He said Oregon assistant Mario Cristobal, a former Alabama assistant, will still recruit him.
"I'm locked in at Alabama and 100 percent Alabama," Brown said. "I know Coach Cristobal wants to keep talking and if Coach Key wouldn't mind me taking an official there, I wouldn't mind a free trip. I'm 100 percent to Alabama and I don't think there is anything Coach Cristobal could say to sway me to Oregon."
Brown hasn't set his Alabama official visit yet, but it could be during the weekend of Sept. 30 when Alabama hosts Ole Miss and his team has a bye.

Alabama leads for 2019 four-star defensive end King Mwikuta but Auburn is "always in the mix."
The LaGrange, Ga. native visited Tuscaloosa on Friday and Auburn on Saturday and while the Crimson Tide are still in the lead, things could change.
"(Alabama) still stand (as the leader) but like I said, Auburn always in the mix," he said. "I ain't going to name out no number right now, but Auburn always in the mix."
Mwikuta said the upcoming season, after which he plans to make his commitment, is going to play a big role in his decision.
"I can say one thing, it's going to be this season," he said. "If this season (Auburn) show me the things that I'm looking for, not only just winning the championship, but just showing me what can they do also like on and off the field. I'll be looking forward to (that) and then I'll be making my decision around that time."
Mwikuta said he's "real close" to committing to a school, but at the same time is not going to announce his decision until December at the earlier, if not for a year.
"I'm trying to wait till signing day but I'm itching," he said. "So I want to go ahead and make that decision soon. Maybe this time next year or either this coming December."
The 6-foot-4, 232-pound defensive end enjoyed his trip to the Plains and met with Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, defensive line coach Rodney Garner and linebackers coach Travis Williams.
He plans to visit Auburn for "every home game if I can" this fall.
As of now, Auburn is looking at Mwikuta as a Buck but he would prefer to be a strong-side end in college.
"They say Buck but I'd rather prefer to put my hand in the dirt," Mwikuta said. "Just for me by my standpoint just looking and doing stuff into what I'm doing. It don't matter. Say I come here, (I'll say) 'Coach you want to put me in the 4i (technique), I'll play anything.' It don't matter to me."
