So if Fields goes to Georgia,Florida or even Awbarn he will go with him

I don't think he would be a lock to AU if we landed Fields. It would help us tremedously with him but I think we gonna have to prove that a TE gets to catch the ball before he would really consider us. I think it's a true UGA/BAMA battle right now for him

Having the former New England Patriots TE coach as OC should help a lot with any TE.

897 guys per recruiting cycle claim to be a package deal with one of their friends (that isn't on their HS team). Maybe 2 of them actually are. Every. Single. Year. It's just something that 17 year olds say. Rarely do they ever mean it when it gets down to the nitty gritty.

Do we actually have a good shot with him?

I still think he ends up somewhere else but he just visited a few weeks ago so the interest is there.

A guy that posts on another site that is close with OL Coach Key has claimed since before Fields made the surprise visit last month that we had a much better shot with Fields than was being reported. Now, I don't know if that means 10% or what. And he hasn't really gotten into specifics. But he's plugged in. He actually has driven CNS and some of the coaches around on recruiting visits before. And he's well vouched for by very credible people.

FWIW, he mentioned that Fields would be visiting that weekend a couple days before it happened. That was when I posted it here.

Austin RB Asa Martin

Alabama, Auburn and Florida made Asa Martin's short list of potential college football homes. Martin is scheduled to make his decision on Aug. 24. The four-star talent is ranked by the state of Alabama's No. 7 player and the nation's No. 11 running back, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

Linebacker JJ Peterson of Colquitt County High in Moultrie (Ga.)

JJ Peterson plays for former Hoover coach Rush Propst at Colquitt County. If Signing Day was today, he would likely head to Alabama, his current favorite. But the Tide have time to cement the commitment of the No. 2 linebacker in the nation – or allow Oregon to catch up. Or, Auburn, his third choice.

Justyn Ross, WR, Central-Phenix City

Justyn Ross, a five-star receiver at Central-Phenix City, has an unlimited number of college football options. Last month, Ross listed Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida and Florida State in his Top 5. His decision could help shape the national championship forecast in the coming seasons. Yes, he's that good. His high school coach, Jamey DuBose, compared him to former Alabama star and current Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones.

More on Mason

At Pleasant Grove, Myles Mason played quarterback, running back, receiver on offense and on defense, safety. At Hewitt-Trussville, he will focus on his defensive position - the same position SEC teams are recruiting him at.
