LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond just wants the best defensive backs, regardless of geographical location. Mississippi prospects are typically difficult to pull for LSU, and Turnage is considered an Ole Miss lean at the moment, but the Rebels find themselves in a heap of mess with the NCAA right now, which opens the door for the Tigers. In the end, I see LSU doing enough to pull Turnage to Baton Rouge, giving the Tigers their first recruiting victory in the state in some time.
We offered Turnage last month and he is supposedly very good friends with Nigel Knott.

For the first time in my career, I am uttering those words. The Tigers routinely finish among the top 10, and have flirted with the top spot, but being No. 1 overall is something they have not achieved during my career covering the program. The state of Louisiana already features some of the nation's top prospects in 2019, with current LSU commit Kardell Thomas, Amite defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher, Amite wide receiver Devonta Lee, Kentwood wide receiver Trey Palmer and John Ehret linebacker Donte Starks already considered to be top 100 overall recruits.

That's just in-state, with many others likely to push for four-star rankings as well.
If the Tigers retain the key components of its staff in place, have a strong offensive showing in 2017 and show signs that the program is back on the track of being a national championship contender for years to come, they will be able to land the No. 1 class in the country. I do believe those things will happen, which is why I am taking this stance.
If Georgia lands the majority of the elite kids in the state of Georgia next year no one is finishing above them. The 2019 in-state class for Georgia is fricking loaded and they already hold the commitment from the #1 ranked player in the country in Nolan Smith.
