Mississippi's Brandon Turnage will be in LSU's secondary class
LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond just wants the best defensive backs, regardless of geographical location. Mississippi prospects are typically difficult to pull for LSU, and Turnage is considered an Ole Miss lean at the moment, but the Rebels find themselves in a heap of mess with the NCAA right now, which opens the door for the Tigers. In the end, I see LSU doing enough to pull Turnage to Baton Rouge, giving the Tigers their first recruiting victory in the state in some time.
We offered Turnage last month and he is supposedly very good friends with Nigel Knott.

LSU will sign the No. 1 ranked class in the nation
For the first time in my career, I am uttering those words. The Tigers routinely finish among the top 10, and have flirted with the top spot, but being No. 1 overall is something they have not achieved during my career covering the program. The state of Louisiana already features some of the nation's top prospects in 2019, with current LSU commit Kardell Thomas, Amite defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher, Amite wide receiver Devonta Lee, Kentwood wide receiver Trey Palmer and John Ehret linebacker Donte Starks already considered to be top 100 overall recruits.
Then you have guys like Dunham's Derek Stingley, Ruston's Ray Parker, LSU commit Tyrion Davis and Destrehan's John Emery Jr., who should all push for high rankings, with Stingley and Emery likely ending up in the top 50 when all is said and done. That's just in-state, with many others likely to push for four-star rankings as well.
If the Tigers retain the key components of its staff in place, have a strong offensive showing in 2017 and show signs that the program is back on the track of being a national championship contender for years to come, they will be able to land the No. 1 class in the country. I do believe those things will happen, which is why I am taking this stance.
If Georgia lands the majority of the elite kids in the state of Georgia next year no one is finishing above them. The 2019 in-state class for Georgia is fricking loaded and they already hold the commitment from the #1 ranked player in the country in Nolan Smith.

The Trojans made the cut for rising four-star safety Devon Williams (Antelope Valley, CA/Lancaster), who posted his Top 10 Monday evening.
USC made the Top 10 along with Alabama, FSU, Oregon, UCLA, Nebraska, Colorado, Cal, Washington State and Utah.
The 6-foot-4 Williams was one of the stars at The Opening, rising 57 spots to the No. 118 overall prospect in the 2018 class in the 247Sports rankings. Williams is the No. 16 ATH prospect in the 247Sports Composite.
USC is recruiting Williams as a pure athlete that could play safety or wide receiver.
The Ducks have been the trending program for Williams recently, holding 100 percent in the Crystal Ball projections.

Tifton (Ga.) Tift County three-star outside linebacker Andrew Johnson named a Top 5 on Tuesday.
The Top 5 consists of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss and Oregon.
There are no predictions on the 247Sports.com Crystal Ball for Johnson.
The 247Sports.com Composite ranks Johnson as the No. 27 outside linebacker in the nation.

I'd rather take a chance on a lower ranked kid than bring Corral into the program.

This new layout messed up the delivery.
It's too difficult to differentiate between images in the post and sigs.

Ah. Thanks for the correction. I should say that Coach Bobcat is doing work with people that have UA connections.
