I'm gonna quote your updates from Keith Niebuhr.

KN posted a lot of VIP nuggets this weekend. First is one on JJ Peterson
Bama still the team to beat. The rest of his top 5 are Auburn, Georgia, Michigan and Oregon. The main thing going for AU right now is T-WILL. Also really liked fact that when he visited for BCW we had activities for his family (he has a young daughter). Also he really liked sitting down with Malzahn 1v1 and says he's a "laid-back kind of dude", also called AU "homey". He plans on waiting to take his official visits before committing

Kelvin Joseph says he is 80-90% committed to LSU and Alabama holds the remaining 10-20%.

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Saturday’s action at The Opening Finals featured the OL/DL challenge, hours of Nike 7on7 pool play and the first round of the Nike 7on7 Championship Tournament at night. This year, we’re breaking down our prospect reports by region instead of 7on7 team. Here’s who caught our eye today from California.

Alpha Dog
WR/DB Devon Williams — The Lancaster (Calif.) Antelope Valley Top100 recruit is listed as a wide receiver, but there is very little he can’t do on a football field. That was very much on display Sunday. The nation’s No. 83 overall player per the 247Sports Composite rankings racked up double-digit catches, a touchdown, and multiple big plays. However, he didn’t just perform well on offense. Williams also played defense and snagged an interception. On Sunday, the 6-4, 200-pounder showed exactly why Alabama, Florida State, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA, USC and many others are heavily in pursuit.

Next 5 Standouts
ATH Bryan Addison — The Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star athlete turned plenty of heads on Sunday. Addison, who holds offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA, USC and many others, notched three pass breakups and snagged an interception on the day. Addison got his hands on a second ball, but failed to haul it in. All in all, the nation’s No. 8 athlete per the 247Sports Composite rankings had a strong day.
DB Isaac Taylor-Stuart — The San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine four-star recruit has ridiculous speed and he showed that often on day four. He looked like a shutdown defensive back on Sunday, which clearly kept quarterbacks from challenging him throughout the day. In fact, signal-callers actually chose to attack four-star LSU cornerback commit Kelvin Joseph much more. However, when they did go at Taylor-Stuart, things didn’t go well for the quarterbacks. The nation’s No. 17 overall player per 247Sports had two pass breakups and an interception on the day.
LB Merlin Robertson — The Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star linebacker got it done on Sunday. The country’s No. 9 outside linebacker per the 247Sports Composite rankings racked up four pass breakups and an interception on Sunday. Robertson showed range, aggressiveness and impressive coverage skills. Cal, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, USC and UCLA have all offered.
WR Jalen Hall — The Long Beach (Calif.) Poly five-star wide receiver did a very good job of getting open on Sunday. Hall worked on the outside, as well as the inside, and grabbed seven catches on the day.
OL Justin Dedich — The Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral four-star offensive lineman had a strong day. He showed good leverage, physicality and did well during offensive line-defensive line reps. “He was stronger for longer” and did a great job of outlasting his opponents, according to 247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons.

Emptying the Notebook:
— The California quarterbacks flashed at times, but Sunday wasn’t their best day. Five-star quarterback Matt Corral and Utah four-star quarterback commit Jack Tuttle were 22-of-40 and 23-of-40 respectively. Corral tossed three touchdowns and two interceptions, while Tuttle had two touchdowns and three interceptions.
— Five-star quarterback Tanner McKee did not play on Sunday, but will return to action on Monday.
— Five-star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was banged up during the first game, which ended his day. He’s expected to play on Monday.
— Four-star wide receiver Isaah Crocker snagged a touchdown on Sunday.
— Four-star wide receiver Marquis Spiker had four catches and a touchdown.
— Four-star offensive tackle Will Craig showed natural strength and a good push, but is raw at this point. With continued strength, he has the chance to be a force.

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Sunday featured 7on7 pool play at The Opening Finals. This was the first best test for the quarterbacks of the week, and considered the most important measuring stick of the event.
While this is a very talented group of signal callers, there were a small group of quarterbacks that started to separate from the pack while facing a live defense. This is where things stand today.
Team Records
Alpha Menace 2-1 (Matt Corral, Dorian Thompson-Robinson)
Mach Speed 2-1 (Cammon Cooper, Justin Fields)
Vapor Speed 3-1 (Devin Leary, Justin Rogers)
Savage Pro 2-2 (Trevor Lawrence, Jarren Williams)
Untouchable 1-2-1 (Tanner McKee, Tyler Shough)
Lunar Beast 0-3-1 (Jake Tuttle, Quincy Patterson)

N/R Tanner McKee - Untouchable
Corona (Calif.) Centennial quarterback Tanner McKee, a member of The Church of Latter-day Saints, sat out Sunday’s workout due to his religious beliefs. Therefore, we will not include him in this ranking.

11. Jack Tuttle - Lunar Beast
Utah commit Jack Tuttle struggled to find a rhythm on Sunday while being picked off five times, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Tuttle did toss a pair of touchdown passes while completing 60-percent of his passes, but he was unable to lead his team to a victory.

9. Matt Corral - Alpha Menace
Long Beach (Calif.) Poly five-star quarterback Matt Corral’s 55-percent completion percentage was the lowest of all the quarterbacks that competed in pool play. The strong-armed signal caller was unable to quickly go through his progressions. A few of his late throws let to pass breaks ups, while one let to an interception. Corral totaled three touchdowns and two interceptions.

1. Justin Fields - Mach Speed
Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison five-star Justin Fields was in control the entire day and consistently marched his team down the field for touchdowns. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Fields completed 77 percent of his passes on the day and threw four touchdowns to zero interceptions. Fields showed the ability to change speeds on the ball, while also having the arm strength to rip passes into tight windows when needed.

I expect Justin Fields to be the #1 ranked player in the country by next week.

Four-star tight end Glenn Beal is a top target for LSU in 2018 and the Tigers made his top six that he recently unveiled.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder from River Ridge (La.) John Curtis is ranked the No. 10 tight end in the country with 247Sports and is No. 13 overall in the state.
Beal recently attended the LSU Elite Camp in June and the Tigers are still the favorite to land the four-star tight end.

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The media circus around five-star quarterback Justin Fields of Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison has hit absurd levels at The Opening Finals.
Fields has been asked about every question in the book over the past few days at Nike World Headquarters by a throng of media.
On Sunday, during his latest marathon session with media members, he was even asked who he thought would make the College Football Playoff during the 2017 season.
His response was "Alabama, FSU, USC and Oklahoma."
Three of those four schools, with Oklahoma being an exception, are among his seven top contenders at this time.
Florida State leads on the 247Sports.com Crystal Ball for the No. 3 prospect and No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the nation according to the 247Sports.com Composite.

ALPHA DOG
The nation’s No. 1 tight end Jeremy Ruckert was not just the Alpha Dog for his region but for the entire tournament.
Out of Lindenhurst (NY) High, the 6-foot-5 1/2, 238-pound Ruckert continues to make a case for a fifth star. He was clutch in big moments, worked the middle of the field, made plays after the catch and in his biggest performance had two touchdowns including the game-winner in a leading his team to a 14-6 win in their second game of the tournament. Ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 35 receiver overall, Ruckert is as reliable a target as there is in this tournament. Ohio State is the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite with Michigan considered the biggest challenger.

NEXT 3 STANDOUTS
Penn State receiver commit Justin Shorter also continued to make a case for his fifth star with eight receptions and three touchdowns on the day. Arguably the top downfield threat in the tournament with his combination of size and speed, Shorter also showed his prowess in the red zone defeating Houston Griffith on a 1-on-1 ball for a score.
Michigan center commit Emil Ekiyor flashed athletically in offensive line drills and come the competition portion showed he can bang with the very best. He defeated Ohio State five-star defensive tackle commit Taron Vincent in a run blocking 1-on-1 drill and impressed overall with his strength and feet at the point of attack. The 247Sports Composite ranks Ekiyor as the nation’s No. 4 offensive guard but he moves to center as a senior this fall.
Ohio State recruited Jaelen Gill to play the Curtis Samuel role and at The Opening he's showing he's capable. Ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 1 all-purpose back, Gill proved why. He had a 20-yard touchdown run, and a 21-yard scoring reception. He was among his team's leader in receptions and he's got make-you-miss ability with the ball in his hands.

EMPTYING THE NOTEBOOK
Carterville (Ill.) High tight end Luke Ford was one of five-star quarterback Justin Fields top targets, a stretch the field player that can make the difficult play and also hauled in a short touchdown pass. Alabama, Georgia and Michigan among others are top contenders for Ford.
Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central linebacker Cameron McGrone was invited to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
USC running back commit Mychale Salahuddin flashed as a pass catcher with a gear to quickly find his top-end speed.
Top247 receiver Kamryn Babb has no problem separating from defensive backs, and had one score taken off the board because it was ruled a sack.
Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Carman was really good technically, has really good body control and the athleticism coveted at the position. Ohio State, Clemson and USC make up the top three.
Penn State running back commit Ricky Slade had eight receptions on the day as linebackers struggled to slow him. Will be a real weapon as one the Nittany Lions can motion out of the backfield.
L’Christian Smith showed strong hands catching a touchdowns pass Fields rifled through a tight window. Kentucky and Ohio State are battling here.
Ohio State linebacker commit Teradja Mitchell intercepted a PAT attempt. He also had a another pass breakup on the day.
