Penei Sewell, OT, Saint George (Utah) Desert Hills

Sewell camped in Tuscaloosa last week, and was said to have had a tremendous time, speaking to those who spent time with the four-star tackle, and judging by the social media posts. The 6-foot-4, 349-pounder was said to be “all Alabama” coming out of the trip. A decision could come before the end of the summer. USC is still trending on the Crystal Ball.

Jack Tuttle, QB, San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills -- Utah commit

Alabama does not yet have a quarterback in its class. In recent weeks Tuttle has emerged as a priority target. Both offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi watched the San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills product throw this spring, and hope to get him on campus this summer. The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder is saying all the right things in terms of his commitment to Utah. If Bama continues to apply pressure, it’ll be interesting to see the Elite 11 signal caller’s recruitment continue to unfold.

Bobby Brown, DT, Arlington (Texas) Lamar

Alabama hosted Brown on campus last week after offering earlier in the spring. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder has vaulted to the top of the Tide’s want list with defensive line being a priority yet again. Brown plans to announce a commitment on Nov. 2. Oklahoma and Texas A&M appear to be the top competition for UA.

Justin Watkins, WR, Clermont (Fla.) East Ridge -- Texas commit

Watkins made his third overall commitment in his recruitment earlier this spring when he flipped from Florida State to Texas, so to it wouldn't be out of the realm of reason to say the chances of him ending up in Austin are pretty low. Alabama signed a strong receivers class in 2017, and already has one committed in this cycle with Xavier Williams. Other top targets include Justyn Ross, Seth Williams, Jaylen Waddle, and Jacob Copeland.

We own Louisiana. We are even in their State Legislation's head

So if Tanner McKee is our QB in this class (even though he wouldn't enroll until 2020) he would sign a LOI taking up a spot.

How fricking dumb is that?

I don't understand that at all. I also don't understand the whole Mormon mission thing. Seems like he could go down to the soup kitchen during his spare time and it would be the same thing.

One of our sites released a class prediction piece earlier today. It's premium content and they are fricking serious about not sharing their information so I can't post who they predicted.

I can, however, tell you what the score for the class would be using the Class Calculator on 247.

Assuming we landed everyone he predicted our class would grade out at 309.38.

That would have been good enough for 3rd in last year's rankings.

I do. I wont totally give it away, but there is a reason TideSaint asked about Micah Parsons. That's all I have to say about that.

Kennesaw, Ga., five-star quarterback Justin Fields decommitted from Penn State last week, and Auburn is one of the schools with a chance to land the elite prospect.

The 6-foot-3, 221-pound Fields, now the nation's No. 3 overall recruit per the 247Sports composite, arrived in Auburn for a midweek visit on Tuesday, a source confirmed to AL.com. 247Sports first reported the news.

Fields is also the nation's top dual-threat quarterback. Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Alabama and many others have offered and it's unclear where Fields is leaning, if anywhere. Auburn wants to sign two quarterbacks and has one committed in four-star Joey Gatewood from Jacksonville, Fla.

Fields will compete at Nike's The Opening Finals later this month and AL.com will be at the event.

Fields threw for 2,770 yards and 23 touchdowns with just six interceptions and rushed for 1,176 yards and 15 touchdowns for Harrison High School.

Please. God. No.

Yeah. Gus has so much success with HS QBs. I don't know why this kid would even consider it, but I'd be surprised if they actually got him to sign.

Let's hope he has that mentality.
