No. 177, Coynis Miller, Jackson-Olin
Position: Defensive line
The skinny: The beefy defensive lineman showed off his athleticism last season by playing wildcat quarterback in goal-line situations for Jackson-Olin (you can see him scoring a TD vs Shades Valley in the photo above. He recently attended Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend and plays at the same high school as 2017 Auburn signee T.D. Moultry, but he’s grown up as an Alabama fan.

No. 270, Harold Joiner, Mountain Brook
Position: Running back
The skinny: At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, some college scouts like the idea of Joiner transitioning to a new position in college, but he seems intent on staying at running back. Who's out?
Sidney Lanier defensive lineman Alfred Thomas and Myles Mason, a safety who recently transferred from Pleasant Grove to Hewitt-Trussville, were listed last year among the Scout 300 for the Class of 2018 but are no longer ranked. Mason started received SEC scholarship offers during his freshman season at Pleasant Grove, and Thomas has been a sack master for the last two seasons at Sidney Lanier in Montgomery.

I'm hearing that not only does the coaching staff consider Jaylen Waddle the #1 slot receiver prospect, but maybe the best overall WR in the country. After his camp performance, he's supposedly moved to the top of the board. Also, sounds like we may be warming up to Seth Williams some. It sounds like we want Waddle, Ross, and either Williams or Copeland as our 3 WR signees.

Steve Wiltfong CB'd TE Luke Ford to Bama. He recently decomitted from Arkansas

Still don't understand why Rivals freaked out over Ross, I don't see a 5 Star WR. Seth Williams arguably looks better on film.
Then again, they also overrated Nico Collins because OMG TALL!

Alabama's low number of verbal commitments for this class will soon rise, some top recruits say.
Cordele, Ga., four-star linebacker Quay Walker became Alabama's third commitment for the 2018 class, matching the number of Crimson Tide commitments in the 2019 class.
"I feel like with Quay Walker committing, the momentum will get that going," said Pierce Quick, the Hewitt-Trussville offensive tackle committed to Alabama in the rising junior class.
Walker himself thought that Alabama's class will grow soon.
But there was not much wait for Quick, as the 6-foot-6 four-star tackle committed to Alabama back in April not long after being offered. He still has two years of high school left.
Pierce participated in Alabama's camp on Sunday, battling five-star North Carolina defensive end K.J. Henry a few times, and he hung out in Tuscaloosa on Monday. He'll be back on June 17 for the offensive and defensive line camp and plans to compete.
"It was really fun getting to get coached by (offensive line) Coach (Brent) Key and all that stuff," Quick said. "It was awesome. There was a lot of talent there. He helped me with some 1-on-1 stuff, especially with my hands. That's been my main focus this spring."
Quick worked his personality on several top recruits, including Utah four-star offensive tackle Penei Sewell, who visited with his family.
"I'm trying to get the best guys to come play at Alabama also," Quick said. "I tell them straight up how it is, that Alabama's the best.
"I hung out with (Sewell) a lot on Sunday. He's a really cool guy. I think he loved 'Bama and his family loved it. I think we definitely have a really good shot with him."
Quick embraced the camp competition, and said going up against Henry was similar to facing Alabama five-star signee LaBryan Ray last fall when Hewitt-Trussville played James Clemens.
Last year, Quick went to Alabama's camp, but didn't have an offer yet.
Soon, he's expecting more recruits to join him in Alabama's commitment class.
"I feel like a lot of guys are close and just waiting to see what happens," Quick said.
