Be serious, none of those QBs are transferring next year unless Tua takes the job from Hurts. Even if he does tje following season his little brother will be coming in.
We don't need 6 scholarship QBs. Never understood the need to collect them loke they are pokemon.

You're right. But we need 4.
Look at the 2010 Citrus Bowl as an example. Michigan State ended up trotting out the water boy before the game was over.

And speaking of QBs, BOL is reporting that Jack Tuttle now holds a committable offer, meaning he does not have to throw in camp.
Interesting.
ETA: He apparently still plans to camp in Tuscaloosa this summer though.

Hank says he is close to putting in a CB for Tuttle to UA and he expects more to come in very soon.
It looks like we may have our QB in this class.

I've seen Tuttle's tape, but what's your opinion on him Saint?

I have a meeting in just a few minutes, but afterwards I'm going to sit down and watch his entire highlight reel. I'll post what I believe to be positives and negatives as soon as I'm done.
On the initial view a few weeks ago I liked what I saw.

He is deceptively athletic.
Side note, his receivers make some extremely good catches.

First off, he has the frame of Peyton Manning from his Freshman year at Tennessee. He is built just like him.
Positives:
- He has a really strong arm.
- He's accurate too. Throws a pretty ball.
- He's very sound mechanically. Doesn't appear to have any wasted movements. Nice footwork.
- He puts the ball where only his receiver can catch it. (But he has to. I'll post why in the negatives.)
- Has experience taking snaps from under Center.
- Looks good running play action (He could sell it better, but his receivers are open so he throws it. Can't blame him for that.)
- Doesn't avoid contact in the pocket. Steps into pressure and delivers the ball.
- Throws well on the run.
- I really like that his offense runs some traditional screens and he executes them nicely.
- He's pretty athletic for a tall, skinny white kid.
- Seeing as this is a highlight reel there aren't any clips of him being sacked, but he does show some escapability.
Negatives:
- He's skinny, but this can be fixed by a collegiate S&C program.
- He locks in on his receivers too much. In high school he gets away with it due to his arm strength and ball placement, but he needs to work on his progressions and check downs.
- Throws across his body and takes chances across the middle when the smart play would be to throw it away and live another day. Again, it works in high school, but SEC DBs will eat that shite up.
Overall I really like this kid's game. He can make all the throws and his "negatives" are things that can be coached up.

I went back through Tuttle's article history on 247 and found some stuff I thought was relevant.
The Opening Los Angeles Top Performers

The quarterbacks
This was a deep, talented quarterback group that produced Elite 11 Finals invites to Jack Tuttle and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Tuttle, a Utah commit, is a big, strong-armed prospect that left the Elite 11 coaching staff wowed. Thompson-Robinson meanwhile has all the talent in the world and put it together on Sunday with one of his better showings to date this spring. UCLA and Michigan may be the favorites there.
Those two weren't alone though as standout quarterbacks and we expect multiple other arms from this regional to earn Elite 11 invites. Among them, USC commit Matt Corrall probably gets an invite at some point down the line. He's an impressive pure passer and the ball jumps out of his hand. Oklahoma commit Cameron Rising also had a good showing as an accurate mobile quarterback.
Though he didn't make the "pressure chamber" which featured what the coaches thought was the final five quarterbacks, we continue to be extremely high on Tyler Shough out of Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton. We though the 6-4, 195-pounder was the best passer through the drill portion of the quarterback camp. Shough will be taking a three-day trip to Nebraska soon and also has plans to visit Western Kentucky this spring.
Among the underclassmen, J.T. Daniels took the lead. He showed great anticipation, arm talent and accuracy throughout the day. The class of 2019 Army All-American is a machine.

It's a volatile position. Nothing is ever certain. Rarely has a year passed when a guy doesn't transfer. It also becomes difficult to sign elite QBs when there's an entrenched, multiple year starter. So signing a guy to develop is paramount. Where would Alabama have been without a fifth year guy in Blake Sims in 2014?

No, but having depth is essential at every position. Especially at a position where guys routinely leave. Alabama has also been lucky to avoid the injury bug at QB under Saban. That may not always be the case.

Caleb Tannor, a top Auburn target at the buck end position, released a top 10 on Wednesday morning and it will come as no suprise the Tigers made the cut.
Also on the list: Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Of Auburn, Tannor told AuburnUndercover.com on Wednesday the Tigers give him a "great feeling."
Auburn offered Tannor, who is 6-feet-3, 225 pounds, in March and he visited them three times over a short period. We expect him to return for another vist sometime in the near future.
Tannor is the No. 18 weak-side end in the 247Sports Composite.

JJ Peterson update from the Auburn side of things:
- Peterson told them the coach he is closes to is Auburn LB coach Travis Williams.
- Their staff wants him at Big Cat Weekend on June 3rd, but he didn't mention it.
- He doesn't plan on committing until later in his Senior season.
- Alabama leads but Auburn is trending up. He said the margin is small, but their mods believe Auburn has work to do to land him.
- Oregon replaced Georgia as his #3 school.

Cordova (Tenn.) struggled defending Hewitt-Trussville in a 45-26 spring game loss on Saturday at Jacksonville State, but there were plenty of eyes on the Wolves' left tackle.
Alabama offensive line coach Brent Key, Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand plus two coaches each from Tennessee and Mississippi State were getting another good look at Jerome Carvin, a 6-foot-4, 325-pound three-star recruit.
Carvin has 16 offers per his 247Sports page and many schools see him as a big piece of their 2018 offensive line class.
"The player part comes second to who he is as a person," Cordova coach Anthony Jones said. "He is an unbelievable person. That is the best characteristic about Jerome is that he is an unbelievable berson. Because he is that, he is a great football player.
He led his team in and out of the short halftime break on Saturday. That's just a small portion of how Carvin has impacted the football team.
"He does all the small things," Jones said. "He's the first in the classroom and last to leave the classroom. He sits in the first two rows of class. He's always in the weight room."
Carvin said he's close to putting out a top 10. Alabama and Auburn will each be on it. He has visited those schools this spring, and saw Auburn for the first time on April 8 for the spring game.
He plans to be back on June 3 for Big Cat Weekend.
"I love Coach Hand," Carvin said. "I love Auburn. I love the offense, I love everything about it."
Carvin talks to Key and tight ends coach Joe Pannunzio on a regular basis.
"It's Alabama," Carvin said. "I feel like it's the best team in the nation. They're going to be in it for sure. They say I'm athletic and a road grader (an OL who is highly effective in driving a defender off the ball on a running play).
"They say they like me as a guard, particularly right guard. Whatever Coach Saban says, it doesn't matter, wherever they want me."

-- Drew Champlin (@DrewChamplin) May 13, 2017
Carvin said there is some pressure to stay in state and play for the Vols. He also said his recent Michigan offer "shakes it up a little bit."
Carvin said he could announce a top five for official visits later this summer, or even commit before his senior season. He plans to enroll early.
Alabama, which has signed big offensive classes over the past few years, will likely sign three in a class of 22. Auburn should sign more and has a commitment from Brooks standout Kameron Stutts, who will likely play guard at the next level.

This was my first time to sit down and really watch Tuttle's highlights. I was VERY impressed. Good, strong, accurate arm. Good distributor and decision maker. Looks like a typical West Coast QB. But what really jumped off the screen to me was his footwork in the pocket. It seemed like he always knew exactly where the pass rush was, when and where to step. To my amateur QB evaluator eye, he looks to have as advanced footwork as any QB I've seen in a while. I'd be happy if he were our QB.
