Thanks, I was going through the Tuscaloosa things thread and trying to see when the last time some folks were around. I got a stop sign with him.
A lot of folks need to come back

That championship game loss took a lot of the wind out of our sails.

It really did. Aday didn't even help that much. I'm a sore loser and I admit it. I don't trash talk to my Auburn friends and they don't trash talk me.

If Alahunter is gone, I nominate Saint for mod duties. Not sure Chicken would allow it, but it's worth a try

Luckily for us we get a national contender right off the bat so an opening weekend win will bring everyone back.

I'm a network engineer by trade so I'd be a mod if they needed one.

My posts about LSU fans would probably have to stop though.

There are 3 of them on the Saints board who are complete fricking idiots that I just can't help but call them out for it.

One of the Ohio State mods put in a cloudy CB for Stephon Wynn.

He'll be committing to them within the month.

I watched RollTide1987's highlight video of the 2007 Arkansas game last night.

I know that team wasn't the greatest but I got all kinds of nostalgic seeing some of the names of the players, and not the ones that would become major contributors in 2009 either.

Matt Caddell
Keith Brown
Prince Hall
Ezekiel Knight
Simeon Castille
Terry Grant
Nick Walker
Wallace Gilberry
Bobby Greenwood
Mike McCoy
DeMarcus Waldrop

None of those guys would hold a committable offer from Alabama now, but they played their hearts out for us on multiple occasions.

3-star defensive tackle recruit Darnell Jeffries listed the top 10 schools he’s considering on Twitter on Friday night, with four SEC schools making the cut.

Jeffries listed Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and LSU in the list of 10, which was given in no particular order.

“I am blessed and extremely thankful to all the schools that have taken the time to offer me the opportunity to not only play on the next level, but be a huge part of their families,” Jeffries wrote in the tweet. “After much prayer and consideration my family and I have decided that going forward we will be concentrating on these ten programs.”

Notre Dame, Ohio State, Louisville, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Oregon rounded out Jeffries’ list of 10.

KATY, Texas — Max Wright has a developed a little habit of using the word “prestige” a lot when he talks about the many elite college football programs that are recruiting him.

And that is very much the case when the 2018 Katy (Texas) Taylor defensive end gets to talking about Alabama.

“As my mom said, it should be a very humbling when a school with that must prestige wants you,” Wright said. “It gives you a spark. You feel excited because it gives you a boost. It’s a really cool experience getting to know that one of the top schools in the country — usually the No. 1 school in the country — is going to offer you a scholarship to go play there.”

Wright is a 4-star prospect and the nation’s No. 83 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings. Alabama made its offer to Wright last May, joining Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Ohio State and other power teams in pursuit of the 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive end.

It’s the program prestige that stuck with Wright, who was reminded of the talent factory that the school is under Nick Saban in last week’s NFL draft. Alabama had four players selected in the first round and 10 overall through the three-day draft.

“It is a lot of fun to see how many guys they had go and how highly spoken of they were,” Wright said. “All the guys who were talking about the draft, every guy they had drafted, people were saying, ‘Great pick, great player,’ and had good things to say.

“It was amazing to see a program be that prestigious with so many guys going to the pros. It’s very appealing to see a school put that many guys in the pros.”

Wright visited Alabama earlier this year. He said the biggest impression from his visit was the rabid nature of the fan base, as he was floored by the number of people walking around yelling, “Roll Tide.”

“It’s the real deal,” Wright said. “The most impressive thing is you can see why they win national championships. The coaching is phenomenal. They run it tip top shape. Meeting coach (Nick) Saban was an amazing opportunity. A coach who is a hall of fame coach.

“It was a great experience to go up there and visit there. You see why they win and why they get so many highly recruited guys.”

Wright’s ties to Alabama partially began at Georgia, as Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt began recruiting Wright when he was a coach in Athens. His relationship with Pruitt continued to grow, as have his relationships with Tide assistant coaches Tosh Lupoi and Karl Dunbar.

“They are a school that is up there in my recruitment,” Wright said. “When you go to national championships almost every year, that is very appealing to a recruit.”

Offers continue to roll in for athlete Quavaris Crouch. The Charlotte (N.C.) Harding University star is in the 2019 Rivals100 and is obviously one of the most sought after prospects in his class. Plenty of offers have been rolling in from schools like Penn State, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

“I don't know too much about Penn State,” Crouch said. “I like their running back. I look at him a lot because he is really good and strong. I called coach Terry Smith and got the offer from him. He said they're offering me on both sides of the ball. They want to see how I develop. We're going to take a visit up there some time.

“My recent visits were to Georgia, Clemson and South Carolina,” he said. “I talk to coach Bentley from South Carolina a lot.

“The Georgia visit was great,” said Crouch. “I got to collaborate with a lot of coaches and players to learn how to do things. I like that they are close to home and I feel like their offense fits my style a lot. They run the ball down hill a lot and it's a pro-style offense. I want to play running back at the next level but if things start to switch up then I'll play wherever.

“I like Alabama a lot too,” he said. “You never know what they're going to bring. It's a school that everybody wants to go to. In my class, I need to check out everything down there because your spot could be gone really fast. I haven't talked to the Alabama coaches yet. My coach talked to Nick Saban and some other coaches though. I'm looking at taking a visit down there soon. I'd be open to playing running back or linebacker there.

“The Ohio State offer means a lot because it comes from a place that does a great job developing backs,” Crouch said. “I talked to the running backs coach and he seemed like a great guy. I’m a big fan of Ezekial Elliott and I know they had a really good running back before him in Carlos Hyde. I’ve been watching Ohio State for a long time because my they’re my best friend’s favorite team.

“My coach explained early that Notre Dame is very prestigious,” he said. “The tradition is second to none. It’s an independent school basically has their own network. They’ve had a lot of Heisman winners and candidates and a ton of championships in the past.”

“I’m going to try to visit Michigan, Ohio State, and Alabama in the summer,” said Crouch. “I still need to sort out my offers before making a short list.”

RIVALS’ REACTION…

Crouch is an exceptional prospect that fits into most offensive schemes. His downhill, punishing running style makes defenders cringe and think twice about tackling him. Crouch’s offer sheet feature most of the nation’s top football programs but his recruitment won’t really come into focus until he takes more visits. So far South Carolina, Georgia, and Clemson have done a good job with him but expect Ohio State and Alabama to make strong pushes for him.
