Also from Hank South:

And to beat anyone to the punch on Patrick Surtain Jr. -- he is a guy I'm seriously considering Crystal Balling to Bama right now. Trying to gather a little more information on him before pulling the trigger, though.

Five-star senior linebacker Quay Walker of Crisp County High School in Cordele, Ga., an Alabama commitment, is scheduled to receive a visit Thursday night from a few of Tennessee‘s assistant coaches.

Vols defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer, co-defensive coordinator Chris Rumph and Charles Kelly, Tennessee’s safeties coach and special teams coordinator, are expected to meet with the 6-foot-4, 236-pound Walker, sources confirmed to GoVols247.

It's about recruiting and it's in response to other comments in this very thread. You may not like it but that doesn't change one jot nor tittle that it is, in fact, relevant to recruiting. Honestly, I don't like it either. Not one damn bit, but this is the hand we're holding right now.

You know what's not relevant to recruiting? Marlon Humphrey.

Jaylen Moody (the LB I posted about last night) on Alabama football:

quote:

“It’s just … damn. It’s a big-hitting team, I love contact and playing defense and that’s their main thing,” he said. “That’s the first thing that comes to my mind with Alabama. Good football, good defense, and the atmosphere and culture.”

Just stop. I keep this thread open at work and still can't keep up with news, when things go off on a tangent for pages at a time.

You've made your case. Move on.

I don't see you saying jack shite about our DB recruiting.

If you want to talk recruiting change the subject and talk about it, but you only seem to want to talk about Jalen/Tua/etc.

I read that he models his game after Reuben Foster. Would be nice.

Hey, you or some other poster said it's not relevant to recruiting. My "case" is that as long as Saban is saying it's not decided, then it is in fact relevant. You have an opinion, and I have an opinion, and they won't always be the same. Imagine that.

No, I didn't.

That's cool. If you want to discuss the situation there's a place for it and it isn't in here.

So I wonder why there hasn't been any news on JJ. I know he is quiet but dang. Pruitt thinks he is going to build something better than Bama OK. He crazy.

I read that as him saying he was going to build tennessee up better than they've been.

ETA:
quote:

He said that Alabama is a great program and it’s always going to be a great program, but he knows that he’s going to make Tennessee a better program

I read that as "Bama is great and UT is not, but I'm going to make Tenn a better program moving forward"

He's talking shite to sway some kids, but it's not for sure he'll even be a decent head coach.

Actually, it would be to Alabama's advantage if he does well, as he would be a candidate to return when Saban retires, but he's making it hard right now to like him. It's just the job. Dog eat dog in the recruiting business.
