Surge, just things that have been written and said by others and I stated a few pages back, Solomon keeps coming back to Michigan.

I hope I'm wrong. We need this guy and he can probably get serious PT this year if he comes in ready.

We currently have 24 players when counting EE's and Verbal Commits. So take away the two blue shirts and that's 22. Add 4 more players on signing day and that's 26. 27 if we get 5 on NSD.

Anyone know how many we can backcount?

Thanks I'm still more confident than many others seem to be that we get Solomon. I sure hope I'm right.

BTW, "chicken little" thinks we hang on to Ruggs and Mathis. I don't have a strong opinion either way on the other LA WR.

Four-star defensive tackle Akial Byers headed to junior college, still considers himself Alabama commitment
John Garcia, Jr.

"I'm signing with Mississippi (Gulf Coast)," he said Monday. "Coach Saban talked to me. They're going to get me in there (MGCCC) and get me out in January, that's the plan!"

The sign-and-place practice is common in college football, especially the SEC. But neither party is binding to the original commitment -- Alabama -- in this case. But Byers wants to make it all the way back.

"I'll just be a 2018 Alabama commit now," he said. "That's where I want to be. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing, get bigger and better and develop more as a player.

"Saban said he's proud of how far I've come because at the beginning, it was rough."

An Under Armour All-America Game selection, Byers said he is on the track to potentially be a late qualifier, something that could accelerate the potential return process after at least two junior college semesters. That would put him back on the market as a January 2018 enrollee with at least three years of of playing eligibility remaining at the collegiate level.

A few evening notes from Bone. Staff feels extremely confident on Ruggs, Smith and Ray. In regards to the Defensive Tackles, there are some of the staff that feel we miss on both, some that feel we get 1 of the 2, and at least 1 thinks we get both. There is more confidence on Mathis than Soloman.

He again said we would have to miss on both DT's to take Parks and that at this time there is no room for another DB.

Why do they keep saying we are their rival? We aren't rivals.

Neville defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis scheduled his announcement on Tuesday, and the latest buzz is that he has a lot of LSU support in his corner. There is still some conflicting information on his ultimate destination, but I'm still leaning LSU on this one. It has become apparent that Mathis was a definite Alabama lean just over two weeks ago, so it was an obvious back and forth battle. Ed Orgeron and staff recruited the entire family, including his father that lives in Atlanta, and it could pay dividends on Wednesday.
