Ask four-star defensive back Trenell Troutman about his recent Miami visit and he touches on the campus and program only briefly. Instead, the class-of-2018 standout is more interested in letting his standout camp performance be known.
The Troutman has plenty of talent. He doesn’t lack for confidence, either. “I killed it down there,” Bouie said. “They offered me. I liked it down there. It was nice, but I killed it, man.”
Troutman is having a breakout offseason of sorts and the Miami offer is just another accolade. That said, it certainly made an impact. On Saturday, Troutman named a pair of favorites. The hometown school was among them.
“It’s either Miami or Louisville right now,” Troutman said.
And while Troutman has more than a year before he’s able to sign a letter of intent, a commitment could come quickly. Troutman has no intention of waiting until Signing Day 2018 to make a decision. In fact, he may not make it until his junior season.
“I’m going to make a decision before the first game of the season -- this season,” Troutman said. “I want to get it done with.”
IN HIS WORDS: “I’m gonna visit Alabama on July 18,” Troutman said. “That one is set. That’s the offer I want. I like the way Nick Saban plays. And if I get that offer …”
RIVALS REACTION: Troutman is likely to get a slew of offers as a junior, so his decision to make an early commitment seems puzzling. Miami and Louisville seem to be on equal ground for now, but whichever school lands his commitment will need to protect it for the long haul. If Troutman is to land an Alabama offer at the Crimson Tide’s camp, he could commit on the spot.

The fifth edition of the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented By Under Armour is in the books and, with such an important anniversary of an amazing event, we thought it would be cool to look back at the top prospects that attended at each position. Today we look at the wide receivers and tight ends.
Note: The order is based on a combination of success at the event, success at the high school level and, in many cases, success in college.

Wide Receiver
1. Laquon Treadwell
2. Calvin Ridley
The Skinny: Ridley was an early commitment to the Crimson Tide despite having offers from coast-to-coast. Throughout his senior season and leading up to National Signing Day rumors persisted that he may be looking at other schools, but he stuck with his word and signed with Alabama. Ridley had an amazing freshman season, comparing nicely to what former five-star Alabama receiver Julio Jones (Falcons) and former four-star Amari Cooper (Raiders) accomplished in their first year.
Farrell’s Take: Ridley was a quiet assassin of sorts at the Chicago event in 2013 as he just went out and effortlessly beat defensive backs without looking like he was trying. He was so smooth and such a natural route runner in high school it was evident from the first time we saw him that he was a five-star and a future star.
3. Tyler Boyd
4. Christian Kirk
5. Malachi Dupre

Tight End
1. OJ Howard
The Skinny: Howard committed to the Crimson Tide two years before his National Signing Day and never seriously wavered on his word. Alabama fans don’t have too much to complain about in recent years, but the lack of passes thrown Howard’s way has become a big issue. That began to change in 2015 and culminated in a memorable national championship game performance. Now it will be interesting to see if this trend continues in 2016.
Farrell’s Take: Howard was the most athletic and gifted tight end I’ve ever seen in high school, and he was dominant at our 2012 event in Atlanta. As a flex tight end, he couldn’t be covered consistently by anyone and fought for the ball in the air as much as anyone. He was fast, agile and had powerful hands which led to the highest ranking (at one point) for any tight end in history. An average senior season and not being targeted at Alabama have followed, but the title game could be the launching point he needs to show his greatness.

1. Malik McDowell
2. Rashan Gary
3. Carl Lawson
4. Da'Shawn Hand
The Skinny: As the offers piled up for Hand during his junior year, a trio of favorites slowly began to emerge. Michigan was considered the leader for a good portion of his recruiting process, while Alabama and Florida continued to play catch-up. The Crimson Tide finally surpassed the Wolverines after his official visit to Tuscaloosa in late October, which resulted in his commitment in November. Hand’s first two seasons in Alabama have been rather uneventful, so everyone is interested to see if he finally reaches his potential this fall.
Farrell’s Take: Hand was also at our debut event in Atlanta and then again in Chicago and he was dominant at both. The former No. 1 player in the country hasn’t had his chance to shine at Alabama yet, which will make some wonder why he’s on this list. But he was such a dominant player in high school and has shown signs of breaking out this upcoming season that his ceiling warrants such a lofty spot.

Deejay Dallas’ recruitment isn’t dead. It’s just on life support. The Rivals250 athlete committed to Miami, and that commitment seems relatively solid. Dallas has told most other schools “thanks but no thanks.”
But ask him which programs are still alive in his recruitment, and he gives an emphatic but repetitive response.
“It’s Bama, Bama, Bama, Bama and Bama pretty much,” Dallas said. “Well, pretty much. Alabama and maybe UCLA.”
And so Dallas plans to take action. He’ll remain on Miami’s commitment list but take a peak at the Crimson Tide this fall. A travel plan is coming together but not set in stone.
“I’ll probably end up taking an official visit to Alabama because they’re always talking to me,” Dallas said. “If UCLA still wants me to, I might visit them too.”
Dallas, who attends Georgia’s Glynn Academy, is ranked as the No. 182 overall prospect in the 2017 class.
IN HIS WORDS: “With Miami, I was sold on the culture there. It’s the culture and then the staff that they brought in to coach. I had a relationship with Coach [Mark] Richt when he was at Georgia, so that helped too.”
RIVALS REACTION: Dallas’ commitment to Miami seems strong. Should Alabama put the press on during a possible official visit that could change. That said, it would be silly to view Dallas as a soft commit to the Hurricanes, as, at least for the time being, Richt and company are still the overwhelmingly heavy favorites to land his letter of intent on Signing Day.

BURTONSVILLE, Md., - Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Top247 defensive end Chase Young confirmed Ohio State was his leader during Friday’s Sound Mind Sound Body Football Academy held in the Washington D.C./Baltimore area.
“You can say that,” Young said.
The other contenders remains Alabama, Maryland and USC. There is no timetable for a college decision for the five-star recruit and U.S. Army All-American.

As far as Basketball goes, right now he thinks we end up with Sexton, Herb Jones, and Garrison Brooks.

Thinks we will add 1 more safety which more than likely will be Hamsah Nasirildeen. Thinks Aaron Sterling will not be apart of this class. Says that he thinks we will get Shaun Wade and Kyriq Mcdonald

For Saint's question, right now at WR he thinks it's gonna be Shavers, Ruggs, Smith, and Juedy. He said not right now on Jeff Thomas.

Will Sterling flip on his own or be "encouraged" by Bama to flip?
Posted on 6/29/16 at 1:45 pm to Cobrasize
Maybe combination of both. But according to him, he's being recruited as a LB
