Good, that would have bothered me more than grades

I'm confused myself, but have been seeing he likely wouldn't play for us for a couple weeks now.

I mean how can his grades be so bad yet we never heard anything about them?
He could still go to summer school to try and qualify if it's close, but now it sounds like he has zero chance.
How does that go unreported? We hear about kid's grades months before NSD all the time yet in this case we were left in the dark? I don't buy it.

I thought Emmons and Davis were the only grade risks. This is really strange. Seems like there is more to this than grades.
I wonder if Jones was the player involved in the Bo Davis violations.

I've seen allusions that it's more than just grades. But I am just as confused as you guys. I know there have been some major concerns about him ballooning up to 423 by the staff.

Some guy on BOL said it was Deonte Brown, not Jones, who got up over 400 pounds.
Posted on 6/5/16 at 8:59 pm to TideSaint
So is it brown or jones or both? Both are enormous lol. Together I bet they're 800 lbs

Kendell Jones is more important but brown looks huge and a killer guard.

I'm skeptical of that. The last thing I read about Brown was very good. Regardless, it'll all clear up at some point.

Cornerback Jhavonte Dean (Brenham, Tex./Blinn College) said Alabama offered.
He talked to Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and offensive line coach Mario Cristobal.
Alabama saw him Saturday work out at a TCU satellite camp and got his info then.
"They told my coach about the offer and then followed me on Twitter," Dean said. "I never thought I would get Alabama. That was a wake up call. That shows me that I can really play anywhere."
The offer instantly moves the Crimson Tide to the front.
"Based on how successful they've been I would say they moved up to the top," Dean said. "UCF has been hitting me up a lot. They are hitting me hard. Cincinnati has been with me since day one. I also like Utah and want to visit there."
Dean said he plans to officially visit Utah in September. He said he's working on setting up an official visit to Oregon State as well.
His plan is to take five official visits this fall and then make a decision in December before enrolling in January.
He would have three years to play two on the Division 1 level.
Dean also has offers from Cincinnati (who he signed with out of Homestead, Fla./South Dade High School), Oregon State, Utah and UCF.
He's hoping to land offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma and Clemson.
As a freshman, Dean recorded 18 tackles and 12 pass breakups in nine games.
Dean (6-2, 180) runs a 4.3-second 40-yard dash.

Tyjon Lindsey, a 5-star WR from California (who holds an Alabama offer), has gotten 3 CBs to fricking Nebraska tonight.

Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey made a big announcement regarding his recruitment via Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
In addition to releasing an updated list of his top nine schools, Lindsey revealed that he will make his decision on August 22.
The programs still in the mix for the 5-foot-8.5, 180-pounder are as follows (in alphabetical order): Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee and USC.

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. -- After three days of on-field workouts, 247Sports names their top 11 quarterbacks from the 2016 Elite 11 Finals. While the Elite 11 coaching staff also factors in knowledge of playbook, simulated combine interviews, leadership challenges and conditioning tests to their own personal rankings which name the official MVP and Elite 11, 247Sports looks solely at the position drills, pro day simulation and 7-on-7 each quarterback took part in.

1. Tua Tagovailoa
Alabama commit Tua Tagovailoa shined every time he was on the field this week. The Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis star proved to be extremely accurate during the pro day simulation. Tagovailoa then followed it up with an eye-popping 7-on-7 performace that saw him complete 12 of 13 passes for five touchdowns. His one incompletion was a perfect dime up the seam that his wide receiver dropped which was a certain sixth touchdown. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound lefty is simply a gunslinger.

The word "dime" gets overused, and I blame Trent Dilfer

Not that long ago, 4-star linebacker Markail Benton of Phenix City (Ala.) Central said he might wait until the Under Armour All-America Game to announce a commitment.
Those plans have changed.
Sunday night, Benton announced on Twitter his decision now will come Friday.
The 6-feet-1.5, 235-pound Benton is the No. 6 outside backer and No. 87 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite.
Auburn is a heavy favorite in the 247Sports Crystal Ball, but Alabama is believed to be very much in it.
Benton attended Big Cat Weekend at Auburn on Saturday. Sunday morning, he Tweeted that he was headed to Alabama for a visit.
Benton is among Auburn's top targets. The Tigers have two linebacker commits and would like to take a couple more.
Auburn offered Benton the summer after his ninth-grade year.
I know most think he's Auburn bound, but Reuben Foster's uncle, kinglaw, thinks he picks Alabama FWIW.

Yeah the whole dime thing is lame as frick.

Just checked on this. Both guys are way overweight. Brown arrived way overweight. But probably not a huge deal, as he'll redshirt anyway.
So both pieces of info are apparently true (according to BamaK and SP on TI) it looks like.
