You know what's weird? I have not heard one thing about Brendan Scales, one TE committed for this class. Not a single thing.

Wondering if I need to do like my parents did to us growing up and just lock this thread until everyone can play nice again....
You better not.

Interesting article on D'Vaughn Pennamon. He is a huge priority especially since Emmons is struggling to pass the ACT.
We definitely need to land him if we can't get Emmons enrolled. Our backfield is going to be pretty damn skimpy if we don't.
That's why I said I wonder if we will let Tyler Simmons take snaps back there. He looks like a Kenyan Drake clone to me on film.
I don't care what the "insiders" are saying about him only being recruited to play in the slot. If we can't get Emmons in and we miss on Pennamon we are going to need a body to put back there from this class. Simmons fits the bill more than anyone else we have committed.

I would be perfectly fine conceding Derrick Brown to UGA if it means we can get Carter.
Carter got a pretty nice bump in the last ESPN rankings too. He's up to #55 overall.

The SEC Country Alabama writer Chris Kirschner posted his projected finish. He thinks we finish off the class with:
WR A.J. Brown
DE Jonathan Kongbo (JUCO)
DE Jeffery Simmons
DE Terrell Hall
DT Michail Carter
DT/DE Jamar King (JUCO)
LB Ben Davis
CB Jared Mayden
CB Nigel Knott
CB Shyheim Carter
S Nigel Warrior
No Mack Wilson or Vosean Joseph would suck, but that is a hell of a fricking finish.

This is Tyler Simmons' senior film. I think he might be our next Kenyan Drake type player.

His dad tweeted something this past weekend about how he thought his son was big until he saw him next to Kendell Jones.

Hell will freeze over before we land three of the top four Mississippi recruits in the same year.

Speaking of tLandmass, David Johnson, OM homer, feels good about their chances with both Shyheim and Knott.

I think if Knott were to stay in-state it would be Mississippi State, not Ole Miss. His sister runs track there.

Four-star safety Nigel Warrior out of Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge is one of the Tide’s top defensive back targets in the 2016 cycle.
Warrior is expected to make an official visit to Alabama this coming weekend, as the Tide hopes to gain an edge less than two weeks out from a decision from the elite defender.
Warrior’s mother Tangie sat down for an interview with Keith Niebuhr in the latest edition of SEC Recruiting Buzz w/ Keith and Kipp.
quote:
What has the recruiting process been like up to this point?
“In one word, I would say interesting,” Warrior said. “The process is really all about building relationships. So we’ve built great relationships and I’ve enjoyed that and being able to travel to see the schools and take the visits. That part of it I would say has been very, very good and interesting. It also has been kind of challenging because of the relationships we built at one school, and the coaches changed to another school. That has made it pretty challenging.”
What advice have you offered Nigel about his future decision?
“Really just relax and take your time,” Warrior said. “Really just pray. It’s really his decision with the relationships he’s built. Of course he can’t base his schools on the coaches being there, but really look at yourself being at the school, going to school and being there academically whether the school win or lose.”
How hard is it to get a read on coaches to tell if they’re being genuine?
“It’s very challenging,” Warrior said. “But I consider myself a people person so I kind of can get a feel right off the bat. I deal with people all the time. My profession is a real estate agent so I count on myself to already get a feel. That’s why we did visit those schools that are very close to us several times just to make sure the relationship is what it is for him to get a feel.”
What stands out about Alabama?
“Nick Saban stands out a lot with his coaching history and he would also be able to be coached by him,” Warrior said. “That stands out a lot. Them winning championships and just being ultimate champions in the SEC, that stands out overall. I think he really enjoyed the coaching staff until the change. This official visit that we come up for, I think that’ll be a time to see if it all fits and gels again since we haven’t been around the new coordinator, (Jeremy) Pruitt. We didn’t spend much time with him when he was at Georgia.”
Do you think the departure of Kirby Smart to Georgia plays a significant role in Nigel’s recruitment?
“Most certainly, I definitely do,” Warrior said. “I wouldn’t say a positive, I think it’s more of a negative because now Kirby, he is the head coach, not the defensive coordinator – even though he would play a part – he’s the head coach and has more responsibility than he did when he was at Alabama.”
What will be one or two factors that will ultimately go into Nigel’s final decision?
“One would be where he would be able to get on the field and play,” Warrior said. “That’s important to him, being able to play. He also wanted to make sure I can get to the games, so I think those two are important to him.”

Looks like Jake Fromm may grab the role of our lead recruiter in next year's class:

quote:
After committing in October, Fromm said he wanted to be the leader of his class and recruit guys going forward. He listed some of the names he’s targeting.
“Devonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy, Nico Collins and Jaylen Harris,” Fromm said.

More on Fromm:

quote:
“When I make a commitment I want that to be the final one,” Fromm said. “I’m 100 percent committed to Bama. I love where I’m at and I can’t wait to be there.”

Nah, it's only once they get over 100% commitment that they are sure to be gone. Who needs people who don't understand fractions, anyways?
