You guys have me scared with this title
Who've we lost so far and what has happened? And are we still in for the two 5 star linebackers?

We have lost a kicker and Fromm is less than solid. I think we will be fine.

I had been thinking it was Pierschbacher that got a couple penalties against UF. Either way he's been really good recently. If he can cut down on the penalties he could have a big senior year.

Agree. Earlier in the year he was awful, to the point I would watch him specifically. He definitely improved a ton the second half. Just seemed like he was "squaring up" his man a lot more consistently. Also, seemed a tad quicker.
Did he have some leg or foot issues coming out of fall camp?
(I know this is a recruiting thread, so anymore smoke or fire on the Brown front?)

He got arse fricked on the goal line play from the 1 against the barn. He got thrown into Henry and Henry stumbled all over trying to get around the corner until he slipped from stumbling.

All I know is that a current Bama coach and a very well respected OL talent evaluator are very high on him after how he's playing right now. The whiff on Lawson and a couple penalties notwithstanding.

Think I'm going to see #Bama beat up Michigan St. in Dallas #RollTide
I guess this is good news seeing as we probably won't get an OV for him if he makes the grades to enroll early.
Hopefully he can bring his mom along so she can finally meet Burns.

Who is Brown?
ETA: After thinking about it I take it you are referring to Derrick Brown?

I was just trying to be funny. I had it as "Pruitt Getting E'erybody" once he was hired, but then we lost Pineiro and word was Fromm was probably leaving too so I changed it.
We're fine.

Bud Elliot, the National Recruiting Analyst for SB Nation, CB'd Shyheim Carter to Ole Miss today.
Let's hope he doesn't know what the frick he is talking about.

35/50 on the year, and Hank put a CB in like 5 days ago for Carter for Bama. I dunno, unless that dude saw the bag, I think it is still us.

The Ole Miss 247 site listed their top recruiting battles for the remainder of this cycle. A couple are relevant to us:
quote:
Jeffery Simmons | 4-Star DE | Noxubee County (Miss.)
Teams To Beat: Mississippi State, Alabama
Latest Intel: We believe Ole Miss likes where it stands for Simmons right now. There is a consensus in some quarters that the Rebels lead and have for quite some time. Alabama and even LSU are lingering, but the chief competition is Mississippi State, which is about a half hour's drive from Simmons front door. He'll take his officials in January and we believe his recruitment will remain up in the air until the pen hits his letter of intent.
Rebels247 Says: Ole Miss. There will be drama until the end, as both the Rebels and Bulldogs are in refuse-to-lose mode with Simmons.

quote:
A.J. Brown | 4-Star WR | Starkville (Miss.)
Teams To Beat: Mississippi State, Alabama
Latest Intel: We think it is a three-horse race between the Rebels, MSU and Bama. While Ole Miss is definitely in the thick of it for Brown, and so, too, is Alabama, we believe the hometown Bulldogs simply cannot let him escape Starkville.
Rebels247 Says: Mississippi State. Hometown kid stays home where he will hands down be State's premier receiver.
I hope they are wrong about this one. I think he might end up being the best player in this entire class. No bullshite.

quote:
Terrell Hall | 4-Star DE | Washington (D.C.)
Teams To Beat: Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Maryland
Latest Intel: Hall has become a priority for the Rebels during the run-up to the end of the year. While he is set to take a visit to Oxford in January, the national vibes are that it's really a Florida State/Alabama/Maryland battle. We think Ole Miss is in it more than suspected, as usual, by the national pundits.
Rebels247 Says: Don't count Ole Miss out, but we're just not comfortable forecasting Hall's destination just yet.
I wasn't even aware they were recruiting Hall.

I guess they either don't feel confident on Carter or just plain forgot to mention him.
ETA: I forgot to add they think they are landing Rashan Gary too:

Rebels247 Says: Ole Miss. There's no reason not to believe a program that has secured commitments from the nation's No. 2 and No. 5 overall player couldn't land No. 1, as well.

I always hate when they are confident about some recruit seemingly out of nowhere. Maybe the reason we offered Nick Coe.

From one of the more embattled "insiders" on BOL regarding Ole Miss:
As with everything this individual has posted in the past, I would take this with a huge grain of salt. I'm just passing it along. Nothing more, nothing less.
quote:
I wanted to drop a few things I was told and what could be possible in the future of what exactly is happening at OleMiss.
This person told me to not say a lot of things, but I hope perhaps you all could read between the lines.
#1 Alabama does not want to be associated with recruits after they announce they are going to Ole Miss. They will decide what they want, either Ole Miss and what they have to offer or Alabama.
#2 They are keeping it away from actual IMPORTANT people from their program. They know whats happening but nothing will lead to them. Is it boosters? Well not exactly.
#3 These are kids who will NEED to be derecruited once they go to any other school. At Ole Miss things will be "easier".
#4 "It will end soon". This is a part that I found the most interesting. "They may still offer these things, but they have a few of the wrong people in on this. They will expose them in the end. Ole Miss will fail to realize they have put these kids lives at risk." LIVES? This person said "Yes, their future will be in the hands of people behind close doors".
Now he would not say exactly what Ole Miss gives, but said its impossible to prove unless someone says something. He laughed and said "It could happen soon though".
Its not a huge thing, but this is someone whos name you all would recognize and someone close to the SEC and Alabama in general. It is ok if you don't believe it or me, just telling you what I know and most believe.

Didn't Gary's mom have a terrible experience at OM?
