NOTABLE RISER: Trajan Bandy, Miami (Fla.) Columbus (Up 12 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Corey Straughter, Monroe (La.) Neville (Down 13 spots)

Arizona State commit Jermani Brown also makes a move up to a 6.0 Rivals Rating and rounds out the top five. Florida native Stanford Samuels also makes a nice move to break into the top 10 at No. 7.

NOTABLE RISER: Devan Barrett, Tampa (Fla.) Catholic (Up 15 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Markiese King, Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff (Down 14 spots)

Along with fellow Tennessee native Maleik Gray, they help the Volunteer State lock down the top of this ranking. Barrett is the only other new addition to the top five and he settles in at No. 4. Four new four-stars now reside in the top 25, including Georgia commit Deejay Dallas.
Notables:
5. Malcolm Askew
18. Chadarius Townsend (Alabama)

Just one team note of interest. Rodney Orr, DrewD, and redfish have all mentioned Daylon Charlot as turning heads a ton in practice recently. The feeling is that he has star potential. We are stacked at WR.

Reading the Aggies thread it still sounds like they have some confidence with landing Hurts.

Alabama landed a solid get over the summer in Jalen Hurts, a quarterback the Aggies have their eyes on for quite some time. There was a time when Hurts was considered a primary target. His stats are proof that he can play; Hurts accounted for more than 3,700 yards and 51 total touchdowns as a senior.
A coach's son, Hurts is someone who thrives on making the right decisions. In turn, he's also someone who can be a reliable game manager and a quarterback who knows how to get the first down in tough situations. While Texas A&M is hoping to flip him, Alabama is hoping to keep him committed.

They are also the most delusional fanbase I've ever seen.

They don't hold a candle to LSU fans but they sure think Hurst will flip .

Interesting that we are targeting him at safety. I wonder if this offer means that we are losing confidence on Warrior.
quote:
The East St. John standout camped with the Crimson Tide this summer, mostly working as a safety under the tutelage of Nick Saban.
"It's nice to receive an offer from an elite program like Alabama," Coxie said. "I respect their coaches and program a lot. I enjoyed myself at camp there this summer."
Although the offer from Alabama seemed to be appreciated by the 6-3, 185-pound athlete, it was not enough to shake him off of his verbal commitment to the Tigers.
"I'm still solid to LSU and I don't see myself changing right now. I've built a great relationship with their coaches and don't see anything changing. "I talked to my grandma about it and she would support me in whatever I wanted to do, but I don't see it happening right now."

BOL Nugget on Derrick Brown:
Alabama is definitely in the mix and the Bama staff improved their standing during his official visit. BOL's source still thinks Auburn has a lead here, primarily due to Derrick's relationship with Rodney Garner.
Derrick is not afraid of competition so recent commitments are'nt expected to have an effect one way or another on Derrick's ultimate decision.
At this point all schools involved feel good about their chances... Auburn/Georgia/Alabama/Tennessee.

This is the one time where I wish a kid was considering early playing time. Brown could come in and start splitting reps with Payne almost immediately.

Interesting how they all think he is Bama bound while I still think he goes to LSU when all is said and done.

It's that time of year where we hear that _____ is thinking about returning for his senior season.

— It would be a big surprise, but I've heard from multiple area scouts that Alabama defensive lineman A'Shawn Robinson may return to school for his senior season. He is young (20 years old) and wants to get his master's degree before heading to the NFL.
