You guys are a mess this year. Some of you will never learn. Literally every year a bunch of guys are obviously "playing the game" in recruiting, and almost all of them wind up where everyone knew they would go all along. And every year you guys get sucked in by it. I'm in the wrong profession. I should be selling snake oil, and you guys should be my customer base.
I'm not saying we won't land Davis and Wilson, but this statement is asinine.
All of the Auburn "insiders" and mods had Rashaan Evans going to the Barn. All of them. He was a legacy who was just "playing the game" remember?
Kirby Smart has been recruiting these two for 3 years now. To say he doesn't have a legitimate shot to land them is stupid, especially given the talent he pulled for us over the last 9 years from out of state.

agree with all you just said. Kirby is a great recruiter and he may get one or both of them (or all three with Davidson), but if you've ever spoken with or heard Wayne Davis speak, I can not imagine his son actually going anywhere other than Bama. Just can't. Might happen, but this would be me if he did that on signing day:

One of the Ole Miss writers put in a "Cloudy" CB for Nigel Knott.

Yeah the secondary needs some recruits in this class, although we're pretty young and deep there currently.
But still, the Oline and Dline are already looking very solid. One or two more high profile recruits there (Rashard or Dexter Lawrence, Brown, Gary are all longshots but possible and Hall looks like he could be Bama) could seal up the lines pretty well.
Linebacker is thin, we need to get Davis and Wilson, hopefully they're trolling and will end up at Alabama.
Really like watching Emmons at RB.
Will be a solid class with a couple more chips falling.
Hopefully Davis, Wilson, Knott, Carter, Hall and one longshot Dliner come on down. Then a few offensive players to round it out. Little Ridley?

Anyone care to paraphrase the VIP Nugget: DC opening centers on two candidates?

Also think we pull Mykel Jones this weekend.

Nah, it isn't asinine. I said "almost" all.
It's theoretically possible we don't sign Davis. But we most likely will. There's certainly nothing to fret about right now. We'll probably sign Wilson, too.
We're in very good shape for DJack out of TX.
90% of the time, the guy considered a lock goes where everyone thought he would the whole time. For us, that percentage is probably even higher. It may be a little lower for the Barn, as they're the #2 program in the same state as the top program in the country.
It all makes quite a bit of sense, and is very far from being asinine when you stop to think about it.

Looks like the Perine ship has sailed:
Did Alabama offer Theodore running back and Florida commit La'Mical Perine too late?
Did Alabama offer Theodore running back and Florida commit La'Mical Perine too late?
quote:
Alabama is hoping to sign multiple running backs in this year's class, but didn't extend an offer to Theodore standout La'Mical Perine until early November.
By then, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound Perine had been committed to Florida for several months. He topped 1,600 rushing yards this season and earned an offer after the last game of the regular season.
Assistant Burton Burns visited Perine late last week, but will it be enough to sway Perine from his Gators verbal commitment?
"Yeah, I really do (think they came in too late)," Perine said. "I feel like that. You've got to take some type of interest because it's Alabama. But like I said, they came in pretty late."
Perine said that Alabama says "they're pretty low on running backs. They want me to come up there on an official visit and come in there and play."
Perine said he had not decided if he will take an official visit to Alabama, but said his Florida visit was set for the final weekend before National Signing Day. He took an unofficial visit to Alabama for its early-season game against Ole Miss.
He's participating in practice this week for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic in Hattiesburg, Miss., before Saturday's noon game at M.M. Roberts Stadium on the Southern Miss campus.
Perine is joined by Gator verbal commits Jeremiah Moon, a linebacker from Hoover and Jeawon Taylor, a safety from Park Crossing. All three are members of the AL.com A-List.
Perine was elevated to a four-star recruit on Rivals.com, and he's a three-star in the 247Sports composite, which averages the rankings for four major sites. After his big season, he could be in line for a ratings bump all around.
Right now, he's helping push five-star Carver-Montgomery linebacker Lyndell Wilson to Florida. "Mack" still has the Gators as his top school.
"We have a very good chance to get him," Perine said, who also added he was trying to flip Auburn defensive end commit Marlon Davidson from Greenville.

Perine has long been a fan of Florida, and said he liked the zone, downhill schemes Florida uses and how head coach Jim McElwain got the Gators to the SEC Championship in his first year.
With a good recruiting class, including some of Alabama's best players, more winning is in store for the Gators.
He said Alabama calls him every week, while Florida is in contact with him every day.

Nick Saban has compared 4-star WR A.J. Brown to this NFL star
quote:
A.J. Brown couldn't believe it, but had to listen to the words coming from Nick Saban's mouth.
Saban compared Brown, one of the country's top receiver prospects, to Julio Jones. Now an NFL all-pro, Jones was one of the best receivers in Alabama history and one of Saban's first big recruits with the program.
Jones played for Alabama from 2008-10 and won a national championship as a sophomore. The two-time NFL pro bowler recently signed a contract worth $91 million.
He's looking for another physical receiver and Brown, a four-star recruit from Starkville, Miss., fits the mold. Brown is the No. 59 prospect nationally and he'll be looking to help Mississippi beat Alabama in the All-Star Classic on Saturday at noon at Southern Miss' M.M. Roberts Stadium.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Brown caught 10 passes for 117 yards and a score in the first half of Starkville's Class 6A state championship win over Petal.
But now, he has more free time and can think about recruiting.
"This is my only free time," Brown said after a Mississippi all-star practice. "I'm going to take recruiting a lot more serious now. We'll just have fun right now through the all-star games but during the free time, I'll decide where I'm going to go to school."
And one school in the mix will be Alabama. He hasn't set any official visits, but will likely take on in January. He said Auburn could get an official visit, and the in-state schools Mississippi State and Ole Miss are in the mix.
But Alabama is "probably coming the hardest" after Brown.
"I fit in their program," Brown said. "I'm big and physical. They say I remind them of Julio and I can come in and be a big, physical aspect for them."
Come again? Julio?
"You don't really want to believe it because all colleges will say things, but when Nick Saban says it, you've got to believe it," Brown said.

I'm still Missouri on Mykel Jones getting a commitable offer. Guess we'll see.

Sorry for not being a gump homer that thinks every elite talent is coming to Bama, just because it's Bama. It's a need position and BD is considered the best. Forgive me for expressing my disappointment should the young man decide to go anywhere other than Bama.

What makes it seem curious to me however, is when Kirby was DC at Bama and recruiting them to Bama, they never had Bama as #1. Now that Kirby is gone to UGA, they want to follow him to UGA, but didn't want to come to Kirby at Alabama?
One is a legacy with his father openly pushing to Alabama, the has repeatedly said Alabama is his dream school. But they will follow the DC of Alabama to UGA?

Even watching that video of Davis interviewing Wilson I kinda could tell they were trolling alittle. Not saying 100% but I believe they both will go to the same school.

Exactly. Follow the logic train.
But never mind. Me thinking we don't need to fret is just me being a "gump homer". Mindless drones.

Nah, I pretty much call em like I see em. On the whole, that tends to make me a bit more negative than most on TI. A bit more positive than most of you. But then again, so is everybody else.

Then it'll be a shock to one of his family members. Like I've said, we have a huge ace up our sleeve here.
That being said, who knows what's been changed by the sexual allegations.

Maybe Kirby was building that personal relationship and telling him to wait until after the season to decide. Hint, hint, wink, wink, follow me wherever I'm going.
