Depending on how our TE recruiting goes the rest of the way, there's a decent chance Forristall winds up at Cal and/or Scales at a midwestern school.
I hope not. Forristall is an elite pass catcher and Scales has the potential to be very good as well.
I assume you are referring to Nauta and Asiasi potentially taking their spots?

Demetris Robertson update:
quote:
Stanford has been Robertson’s leader for a while now. After this visit, where does Alabama stand for you?
“They’ve always been up there pretty high,” Robertson said. “I’d say they’re number two, Georgia’s number three, Ohio State and Notre Dame are up there behind those two.”
Where do you feel your skillset would fit you best in college?
“I would say either side of the ball, really,” Robertson said. “Wide receiver, corner, safety, if I get with a good coach and a good program, they can critique my skills and I can go to work and do my thing.”
Today, which position would you say you’re better at?
“I’d say receiver because I’m really a natural at it,” Robertson said. “It’s hard to stop me. Defensive back, I’m a little behind in getting the flow of things as far as being natural it.”
Cal, Notre Dame and Ohio State have and will get three of your officials. Who will get the last two?
“I know it’s going to be an SEC school,” Robertson said. “And the last one will probably be Stanford.”
Is it an Alabama-Georgia battle for that one official visit remaining?
“Probably so,” Robertson said.

I'm not really sure the reasons why, to be honest. I didn't ask. I do know that Asiasi is a lean to us. I know one of the guys feeding the info doesn't like Scales at all, but I haven't heard what the staff thinks of him.
I think Nauta will ultimately be between us and Ole Miss with the problems at UGag. But, uhh, well... suffice it to say that's not ideal.

Quote from Devin White's mother:
She also said this:
How in the world is Burns just now meeting her?
quote:
White touched on the kind of program she wants to send her son to.
“I want to see him at a school that’s a family environment,” White said. “Somewhere that he’s very comfortable at. A school that’s good for the major he’s going to be going into to. That’s a big factor. As long as it’s family and he feels comfortable there, then I feel comfortable with the school he chooses.”
She also said this:
quote:
“I talked to Coach (Billy) Napier and Coach (Nick) Saban,” White said. “I actually met Coach Burns, it was my first time meeting him.”

Michigan will be in it to the end with Nauta. In fact, he's getting more CBs there.

Yeah, I could also see Michigan being in it with him. Harbaugh has an amazing record with producing TEs.

Ben Davis quote:
He was asked to rank his Top 4 teams for the CFP and his list was (in order) Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Florida.
He is taking an OV to LSU this weekend and plans on taking an OV to Alabama in January.
quote:
The in-state ‘backer has made countless trips to Tuscaloosa throughout his recruitment. He talked about the message he’s hearing from the staff.
“It’s kind of the same deal,” Davis said. “They see me as a great asset to the defense on the inside, and then rushing on third down either up the middle or on the edge, kind of like a Rolando McClain, that’s who they said I play like.
“(Alabama) is letting me take my time. There ain’t no pressure.”
Davis gave the game high praise.
“That’s the best game I’ve seen Alabama play at Bryant-Denny,” Davis said. “I have to give it a ten.”

Privately behind the scenes (even outside the scope of what some of the mods are saying) Bama is and has been in very good shape for White. To the point that one person is saying it's a done deal.
I'll say, though, that we view him more as a Fowler type back right now and not a true RB. As a true RB, he'd need to drop some weight and get some of his lateral speed back. Not straight-line speed. He's still good in that department. But initial quickness and lateral speed could use a little slimming down.

Dexter Lawrence on the next time he will visit Alabama:
quote:
"It probably will be an official," Lawrence told Martin as to when he'll return to T-Town. "It won’t be for a game, just a regular official."

USCw isn't a threat right now. UCLA is a HUGE threat, though.

In my honest opinion, I don't think LSU takes Bama as seriously as Bama Takes LSU. I have visited Bama at least 10 times over the past 3 1/2 years. Trust me when I say every time we entered the doors of their complex they had an old LSU vs Bama game up on the big screen in the meeting rooms and on the flats screens in the weight rooms (Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall) LSU Tiger stickers hanging in the weightroom, and one summer they were even playing NECK with the Video on YouTube to their workouts.
I don't see none of that at LSU. Its like bama is just another game. Those boys in T-Town dream about whipping LSU's arse year round.
Emphasis is added with the Tide have to play LSU and even when they are not playing LSU.

I'm 99.9% sure that LSU's coaches, players, fans, and boosters don't see Bama as "just another game".
No one does. It is everyone's biggest game of the year, with few exceptions.

That man runs his mouth too damn much. He is going to be a problem, for whatever school, his son picks.

I guess he's saying he would want to coach against his son if he were to sign with Alabama.

I triple dog dare you to tell Jervonte that. What will be your reaction if Dylan signs w/ Alabama??
TigerBait!!! and if he played running back I would BEG (emphasis added) Les to let me coach his linebackers! All three of my backers would make All-American Honors in that one game!

The race to land 5-star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence is nearing its conclusion as he announced that he will make his commitment on Dec. 14, according to Luke Stampini of GatorBait.
The nation’s No. 3 overall prospect and the No. 2 defensive tackle has taken official visits to Clemson and Florida, with trips to Alabama and Ohio State on deck. He may take his fifth official visit, but that has yet to be planned out.
Those four programs, along with in-state ACC members NC State and North Carolina, are among the schools that are pursuing the 6’5”, 330-pounder from Wake Forest, North Carolina.
With his recruitment beginning to take shape, which program provides the best fit for Lawrence?
quote:
Alabama presents an intriguing fit schematically, as Lawrence could be an ideal run-stuffer in the middle of head coach Nick Saban’s defensive line. However, the Tide have recruited well over the years and appear to have a budding star in current true freshman nose tackle Daron Payne.

4-star QB Jalen Hurts
High School: Channelview (Channelview, Texas)
247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 5 dual-threat quarterback; No. 202 overall
Recruitment Status: Committed to Alabama
The stock seems to be rising for Crimson Tide commit Jalen Hurts, who has provided some incredibly impressive performances this season. The 6'2", 208-pound playmaker suits up for his 2015 playoff debut this weekend against Lone Star State powerhouse Manvel High School.
Hurts, who pledged to Alabama in June, dazzled during a loss to La Porte High School last week. He totaled seven touchdowns in the 55-49 defeat, according to Brian Perroni of 247Sports.
As usual, Hurts wreaked havoc as both a passer and runner. He completed 19 throws for 358 yards and three scores, adding 132 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
His abilities also shined during Channelview's most recent win, an Oct. 30 victory over Sterling High School. Hurts racked up 331 total yards and six scores in that contest, according to Brian Stumpf of StudentSports.com.
He enters postseason play with 13 offensive touchdowns in the past eight quarters.

With Brian Robinson’s (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) commitment on Monday, Alabama has solidified arguably the strongest running back class in next year’s recruiting cycle — and it isn’t even close.
Robinson, who joins fellow 2017 commits 5-star Najee Harris (Antioch, Calif.) and 4-star Cam Akers (Clinton, Miss.), propelled the Crimson Tide forward in the 247Sports.com’s recruiting team rankings with his pledge. Alabama’s projected point total — which determines the team’s overall ranking score — increased from 163.3 to 178.24, which allowed the Crimson Tide to leapfrog Miami for the No. 2 spot in next year’s recruiting rankings.
For the sake of comparison, no program ranked No. 10 or better has landed at least two four-star halfbacks in 2017. With Robinson, a 4-star recruit, the Crimson Tide now have three.
This kind of running back hoarding is reminiscent of another class.
And by Alabama, no less.
In 2013, the Crimson Tide landed signatures from Derrick Henry, Alvin Kamara, Tyren Jones and Altee Tenpenny to round out one of the most impressive overhauls at the position in recent memory, as none of the four halfbacks mentioned were given less than four stars.
First came Harris, the consensus No. 1 halfback in the country in 2017, who weighs in at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds. Though he’s reported 15 offers, he’s been committed to Alabama since April. He was then followed by Akers, the top-rated prospect in Mississippi, in August. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound junior spurned schools like UGA and Tennessee in the process.
Robinson, a marquee halfback from Tuscaloosa, Ala., rounds out the group with his recent commitment. Like Akers, he reported 10 offers and passed on programs such as Auburn and Ole Miss. At 6-foot-1 and 213 pounds, he fits the mold of several Alabama running backs before him (think T.J Yeldon).
As a result, the three have formed what could be one of the better running back classes in recent memory — or at least since 2013.
