We need Auburn to completely collapse. Gus has to be fired and Muschamp would have to leave as well.

Auburn is putting all their eggs in his basket. We were after Clayton and Clayton recently told 247 that Muschamp was calling a lot but now he doesn't hear from anybody. Just Fountain on occasion.

Pretty baffling all around, really.

Morton (5-2) grabbed a 48-14 road win over Magee in a contest that saw the Panthers win every phase of the game.

Much of that success can be attributed to junior athlete D.D. Bowie’s banner night. The Alabama commit doubled his season touchdown production by scoring four against the Trojans and racking up 217 rushing yards on 13 carries.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder dismantled Magee (2-4) with his speed. After a scoreless first quarter, the Panthers jumped out to a 7-0 lead after Bowie scored on Morton’s first play from scrimmage in the second period by ripping off a 77-yard touchdown.

“I think our offensive line did better blocking,” Bowie said. “I just read my blocks and the holes weren’t there so I hit outside and thank God that my receiver was out there blocking for me.”

Bowie cut to the near side and ran down the sideline untouched for his first touchdown. On his second, which came at the start of the third quarter with Morton leading 14-7, the junior fought through contact and broke five tackles en route to a 68-yard score.

The Arrows outgained the Chargers by 300 yards on offense (394-94). It started in the first quarter when junior quarterback Cam Akers dropped back deep, avoided a tackle and escaped the pocket to throw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Barrett Barham while on the run.

Clinton provided its own spark in the second half with the aid of the hurry-up offense.

Akers hit Kam'ron White for a 5-yard touchdown with 5:29 remaining in the third quarter. Just over three minutes later, the Arrows went 66 yards on six plays in 1:46 in a drive that ended with Landing catching a 20-yard touchdown while surrounded by three Chargers in the front of the end zone.

Akers, an Alabama commit, finished 12-of-24 passing for 156 yards and three touchdowns.

AJ Brown's dad on Alabama after their visit for the Ole Miss game:

quote:

“It was nice, it really was,” Arthur Brown said. “He was talking about it all the way back home. It really was nice. It’s kind of hard not to make the decision to come to Alabama with the great coaches they’ve got. Alabama has a lovely campus. They’re straightforward. I’ve talked to Coach (Nick) Saban, and he doesn’t change. But we’re just weighing our options. We really just want A.J. to find his way.”

He also told AJ we were going to beat Georgia this past weekend and that MSU would lose to A&M and Ole Miss would lose to Florida.

Sign his dad up.

In a game that featured two of the top ranked teams in the state of Georgia in Class 6A, there was plenty of talent on the field. But despite several future FBS players, including three-star tight end Sam Letton and 2019 star Dominick Blaylock, Walton couldn't keep pace with Roswell, losing 48-14. The Roswell defense lived up to it's billing as the state's best, with Rivals250 linebacker and Clemson commit Tre Lamar, 2017 Rivals100 defensive back LeAnthony Williams and 2017 Alabama commit Xavier McKinney leading the way for the Hornets.

quote:

After playing well as a sophomore and having an excellent offseason, Xavier McKinney was ranked by Rivals as a 5.7 three-star prior to receiving his first offer. Just a few short months later McKinney is having a terrific junior year, has committed to Alabama, and looks like he might be in line for another move up the rankings. McKinney made several plays from his safety position, including a late interception in the red zone that helped his team ice the game away. McKinney is committed to Alabama, but said he will take a visit to Clemson before the fall is over.

A number of five-star prospects in the 2017 class have gotten off to fantastic starts in their junior seasons, wasting no time to back up their early standing in the rankings. Here are some of the top performers through the first month.

quote:

1. RB Najee Harris | Antioch (Calif.) Senior
No. 7 in 2017 Rivals100

In five games this season, the Alabama commit has piled up 1,122 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 80 carries, averaging over 224 yards per game. Those are impressive numbers given that every defense knows whom the ball is going to. Harris has also been effective in the pass game, catching touchdowns. Harris has verbally committed to Alabama, but is still listening to other schools and taking visits, as evidenced by this past summer when he stopped by UCLA and USC.

Here is a breakdown of the top five uncommitted Mid-Atlantic prospects and two who have made pledges, but will look around leading up to National Signing Day.

quote:

2 DT Dexter Lawrence
Wake Forest, N.C.

The Skinny: Lawrence's recruitment is all over the map. The third-rated player in the nation just took an official visit to Florida and the visit went very well. It seems to have improved the Gators' position but Alabama, Clemson, N.C. State, North Carolina and many other schools are in the mix. Lawrence will likely take official visits to Clemson and USC, and is expected to visit Georgia this weekend. He expects to make a commitment in mid-December.

If today were Signing Day ... Nobody can say with certainty what Lawrence is thinking about his recruitment right now. People are evenly split between N.C. State, Alabama, Clemson and Florida. The rest of Lawrence's visit schedule will tell the story.

5 DE Terrell Hall
Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High

The Skinny: The nation's third-rated defensive end has been one of the nation's top targets since he decommitted from Ohio State. Alabama is seen as the favorite but a recent official visit to Florida has the Gators in good position at the moment. Florida State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and others are likely in line for official visits but Hall has yet to schedule them. He's looking at a decision sometime in January, possibly at the Under Armour All-America Game or before Signing Day.

If today were Signing Day ... The four-star would sign with Alabama. The Crimson Tide have been the favorite since he decommitted from Ohio State. He has yet to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa (he's been there a couple of times for unofficial visits) but his relationship with Tosh Lupoi and the rest of the staff make Alabama the favorite.

There are obviously many players already committed throughout the Mid-Atlantic, although some are more committed than others. Here are two who still may take a look around before National Signing Day.

quote:

1 RB Miles Sanders
Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills

The Skinny: Sanders committed to Penn State on July 20 before his junior year and it seems like rumor of him looking at other schools started on July 21. The only official visit he has scheduled so far is to Penn State on Jan. 22. The other two schools that have caught his eye are Pittsburgh and Alabama. An official visit to Pittsburgh is more likely than to Alabama because it doesn't take as much planning so it could happen at a moment's notice. The only home games the Panthers have on Saturdays coming up are Oct. 10 against Virginia and Nov. 7 against Notre Dame. After those two games, Woodland Hills will likely be too deep into the playoffs for Sanders to take official visits.

If today were Signing Day ... Sanders would sign with Penn State. If he does take official visits, they would need to blow him away to make him reconsider his commitment.

2 LB Jaquan Yulee
Chesapeake (Va.) Indian River

The Skinny: Yulee committed to Alabama back in June and has admittedly been trying to make sure it is the right place for him. Yulee plans on taking all five of his official visits. Virginia Tech has hosted Yulee on unofficial visits multiple times and it looks like the Hokies are gaining some momentum. He has yet to schedule any official visits but he will probably take a few in January.

If today were Signing Day ... Yulee would stick with Alabama but that could easily change over the next couple months. It all depends on how his official visits go.

Signing Day 2016 is still four months away, but that hasn't stopped several programs from getting a jump on the 2017 class already. Some schools are off to a better early start than others, with several members of the 2017 Rivals100 already off the board. In this week's First and 10, we break down the biggest names to already come off the board.

quote:

RB Najee Harris
Antioch (Calif.) Senior

When Harris visited Alabama this off-season, he absolutely fell in love with the place and the vision they have for utilizing him in the backfield. Why wouldn't he? The Crimson Tide churn out NFL-caliber running backs and there's no question Harris has the potential to be something special. Imagine someone slightly smaller than Derrick Henry but with terrific size and an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He's putting up huge numbers in his junior season and everybody knows he's getting the ball. Nobody can stop him. It's always tough to say how firmly committed a junior in high school is, but I'm pretty confident he's going to stick. Every team in the country will keep recruiting him, but Alabama offers a whole lot.

OG Netori Johnson
Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove

The 6-foot-4, 325-pound offensive guard spent the summer dominating on-campus camps around the country, including at Alabama and USC. Ultimately the Tide nabbed his commitment when he was on campus and he has stuck by the school ever since. Johnson continues to take visits and look at other programs, with the Trojans and Auburn as the two biggest threats to the Tide.
-- Wommack

Johnson is now the #24 ranked player overall in the 2017 Rivals rankings.

Here is a breakdown of the top five uncommitted Mid-South prospects and two who have made pledges, but will look around leading up to National Signing Day.

quote:

1 OT Gregory Little
Allen (Texas)

The Skinny: Little named a top five of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss. He recently returned from his first official visit to Auburn, and it looks as if he will take an official visit to Georgia this weekend. He was in attendance at the Alabama-Wisconsin game earlier this season, and when he was committed to Texas A&M he listed Alabama as the top threat of for his commitment. He plans to announce his commitment on Nov. 4, his birthday.

If today were Signing Day ... The Alabama Crimson Tide have been a projected leader since he decommitted from Texas A&M. Little has played his cards close to the vest, but the Tide remain the prediction for his commitment.
