Headed out to the Westbrook v Channelview game tonight and hoping to see hurts put on a clinic. Channelview is Westbrook's home coming opponent so maybe they take them lightly.

Westbrook normally handles Channelview easily so if they do good it will be in large part to Hurts

Ben Davis says he will take OVs to Alabama, Auburn, LSU and FSU. He's not sure on the 5th one yet.

Quote from Jalen Hurts' father:

quote:

There haven’t and likely won’t be any games this season where Jalen isn’t the best player on the field. Hurts touched on whether his son’s success this season is a result of playing with more swagger since committing to the Tide.

“I don’t think it’s because he’s committed to Alabama,” Averion Hurts said. “He’s a three-year starter, so he’s older and more mature. The thing they say about quarterbacks is the more you play the slower the game gets, so the game has slowed down for him tremendously. That’s what has allowed him to be so efficient. Right now he’s at a 75 percent completion ratio. Last year I think at this time he had 125 passing attempts, whereas this year he only has 90.

Cam Akers is apparently recruiting AJ Brown, Nigel Knott and 2017 Safety CJ Avery to Alabama.

It appears Jake Fromm has Ole Miss on top.

Though South Carolina still seemingly plays a role in this recruitment, the Gamecocks look like a somewhat distant third. Just like on the field, Alabama may also be a stride behind its conference rival in this race.

"I really have to say I like Ole Miss," he told Johnson, who also reported the Rebels have Fromm atop their 2017 quarterback board.

Star ratings provide an indication of recruits' potential, but true promise is ultimately revealed during game action. We've witnessed several 5-star prospects step into the spotlight early this season, validating sky-high expectations that accompany their high-profile recruitments.

September offered an opportunity for high school athletes of all ages to settle in and incorporate offseason training. Here's a look at those who seized their chances and wreaked havoc on opponents.

RB Najee Harris

Class: 2017

High School: Antioch (Antioch, California)

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1 running back; No. 6 overall

Recruitment Status: Committed to Alabama

Highlights of the Month

Najee Harris carried the football with authority throughout September, spearheading Antioch to four straight wins. The 6'2", 220-pound playmaker broke his own school record Sept. 4 with 396 rushing yards on 22 attempts in a 47-22 victory over Milpitas High School, according to Luke Johnson of the Antioch Herald.

That single-game record stood for more than 30 years before Harris shattered it the first time as a sophomore. It was one of four triple-digit rushing totals in September for the Crimson Tide commit, who scored 10 offensive touchdowns during the month.

He's rumbled for 3,375 yards and 33 scores on the ground since 2014, according to MaxPreps.

"All the 5-star stuff, I don't really care about all that," Harris told Bleacher Report's Damon Sayles. "I don't look back and say, 'I'm the No. 1 running back. I should be able to do this or do that.' I just want to go out, play and win."

So looks like we will end up with our third or fourth choice at QB again in 2017

Annual Elite 11 action helps college football coaches and recruiting analysts evaluate the country's top quarterback prospects in a competitive environment. These premier high school passers may eventually evolve into stars at the university of their choice and, in some cases, beyond.

The folks at Student Sports released a "watch list" featuring quarterbacks in the 2017 class who've landed on Elite 11's national radar. The collection includes multiple committed athletes, while the vast majority remain undecided about their collegiate destination.

These talented juniors ultimately aim to join a prestigious group of Elite 11 alumni headlined by Andrew Luck, Jameis Winston and Matthew Stafford. From an early list of more than 90 names, here's a closer look at 10 compelling quarterbacks who could claim the spotlight next summer at Nike's world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

4-star Jake Fromm

High School: Houston County (Warner Robins, Georgia)

Size: 6'3", 220 lbs.

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 9 pro-style quarterback; No. 158 overall

Notable Offers: Ole Miss, Michigan State, Alabama and South Carolina

Jake Fromm spent his sophomore season torching defenses. He connected on 63 percent of pass attempts, per MaxPreps, resulting in 3,629 yards and 31 touchdowns.

His decision-making tendencies are impressive for a young quarterback who operates primarily in the pocket. Fromm threw for 41 scores and just nine interceptions in his past 18 starts.

A pair of SEC programs stand out among contenders at this stage.

"I would have to say that Ole Miss and Alabama are my top two," he told David Johnson of 247Sports during the final weekend of September.

Yeah, downvotes for posters who post about going to a game and giving updates or views after the game.... then not doing it.

Anyways, TS, I checked online and saw Hurts team (Channelview) got destroyed by Westbrook; 61-38. Channelview got out to an early lead 16-3, then lost it. Apparently the game was 40-38 Westbrook entering the 4th quarter and Westbrook scored 21 to end the game 61-38.

He threw one TD and ran for one, also ran for a 2pt conversion and had a fumble.

Sorry for the delay but it was HOCO last night.

On the Game- Westbrook is a traditional power and generally handles Channelview annually. Westbrook probably has 3 D1 talents- db/s, DT and Wr. Probably 4 d2 players- 2 off the oline

Channelview has 1 D1 talent in Hurts, and probably 2 d2- one of them is their rb

On Hurts-

Good-he is as fast as advertised, can sling it downfield with a flick of his wrist and has a lot of wiggle and juke in his running

Bad- tends to lob it up if nothing is open, seemed to mis the across the middle routes as they were open all night long, failed to run several times forcing a pass instead.

Now, to be fair his oline gave him no time, their running game was only successful in spurts and Hurts had to try an carry the whole team.

He was by far the best player on the field, a super athlete, strong arm. He will need a couple of years in Bamas system to reach his potential He can be better than Sims if he can stay at the qb position and not move around.

Can't really blame him if he did. He will have to sit behind BB and Hurts or go to OM and get early playing time.

Hopeful predictions final 10 recruits we need to finish with.
1.),2.) 5* Mack Wilson and Ben Davis ( No Brainer.
3.)5* Greg Little or bust.... even though I think Landon Young is a MONSTER. Kentucky commit.
4.)5* D.Lawrence/R. Lawrence...whoever wants to be here more.
5.)5* D. Robertson/4* K. Gavin 6.)4*A.J.Brown/4*C. Ridley.. not taken 4 WR 7.)4*N. Knott 8.)4* Terrel Hall 9.)4*J. Simmons 10.)4*Devin Asiasi.
Not getting Gary or White(unless we lose BJ Emmons!!!If we dont get Mack for whatever reasons. djak from Texas would be great . wish we would get him instead of Yulee. And possibly last and if season keeeps goin the way it has Marlon Davidson to possibly flip, we are always good for one flip. he can take raekwons spot when he flips.

Fromm would have to sit behind Shea Patterson once he gets to OM.
