2016 commit BJ Emmons had the week off, as did 2017 RB Cam Akers. I didn't realize so many high schools had bye weeks in high school football.

Don't know about that. He seems fickle, though. Has seemed more smitten with us than anybody else, though.

One of the guys whose info I put a LOT of stock in (in the Redfish/DrewD/Bana K clique of info) spoke to a current college QB coach and offensive coordinator that had this to say about Jalen Hurts (paraphrased):
"He's a once in a lifetime player and a program changer. He'd be the best WR in the country if he played that position."
The sentiment about Hurts is spreading. HS coaches around Texas are raving about him.
Barnett is an excellent prospect, but was a known elite recruit and commodity. For once, I believe we hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth of Game 7 of the World Series when down 3 runs at the QB position.
Sounds like hyperbole on the surface, but this isn't the first, or even close to it, report about him like this I've heard recently. The QB battle in January will be a very good one. And it will be a much BETTER one than this year's.

I am no expert but after watching several of Hurts videos he seems like the real deal. No doubt. Extremely high on this kid. Think we made the right choice for a change.He is a coaches son too.

-Alabama is a good team playing for the same goals now as when they started the season (meaning they have a shot at the playoff if they win out).
-Turnovers played a big part in the loss, but the biggest issue he sees is the interior offensive linemen.
I said it yesterday and I'll say it again here. Ryan Kelly is terrible. He was terrible in 2013 when he got the job over Chad Lindsay (who was a beast in the run game for us) and it cost us against Auburn. Why they continue to play him is baffling to me.
