Analysis: Darnay Holmes is an electric two-way performer who can play on both sides of the ball but projects best as a corner. He has explosive speed, very quick feet and can turn and run with anyone. He's also a physical corner who loves to play in press and has an edge to him. He's strong in run support and isn't afraid to come up and hit you but really excels as a pure cover man. He's also a talented return man and should impact early returning kicks-Biggins
He’s a dynamic two-way player who’s both a shut down corner on defense and explosive running back/slot receiver on offense. He’s being recruited as an athlete but we love his upside on the defensive side of the ball and feel he has the talent to play from day 1 at the next level.
On the recruiting side, Holmes recently cut his list to 10 schools, which include Alabama, Arizona, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, UCLA, USC and Washington. After their recent offer, you can throw Virginia Tech in the mix now too.

Nigel Warrior isn’t releasing a top five until the middle of his high school season, but he knows two schools that will definitely be on his list.
Warrior, a 4-star safety from Peachtree Ridge High School, told the AJC on Thursday night that Ohio State and Alabama have two of his five coveted spots locked up.
“Ohio State — they were national champs,” Warrior said. “That was the first team that offered me. I’ve always watched Ohio State play and I love how they play.”
On Alabama: “That’s a winning team. That’s a family. They play as a family. They hustle to the ball. They just get to the ball and somehow make a play.”
AJC interview
Interesting that when he was talking about UT, he almost started talking about Alabama again before getting back on topic. Hmmm....

Xavier Gaines. I wonder if we are heavily pursuing another QB for this class.
He's gotten a bunch of CBs for South Florida lately.

This sounds a lot like the Vonn Bell recruitment.
I will say, however, that Warrior appears to be our main target whereas we kind of left Bell on the back burner for Tony Conner.

“Nigel is a real humble guy,” said Fleetwood, whose secondary also includes Chad Clay (a Georgia commitment) and Baylen Buchanan (Louisville commit). “He’s a really good practice player. He works extremely hard and has a ton of energy. That’s what’s sort of fun, watching him with his practice habits the way they are. He’s a good-spirited kid, too. His nature is very positive and he’s always got a smile on his face. He’s a guy that doesn’t really have to hear a whole lot about himself. He’s just a guy who wants to try to help and get in here and work with the least amount of noise possible.
#“His ability level is really good. He doesn’t labor a lot, it comes very natural to him. His work habits are just neat to me, the way he trains. He’s probably one of the better players around here as far as being in shape. He constantly keeps himself at a high level. Not that he’s the only one, quite a few of our boys do. But he majors in his body and it’s very obvious.”

Based on the location of downvotes, I am going to guess that there is a Vol fan that downvotes every Nigel Warrior post. I am also guessing that FightinCorndog is the serial downvoter.
Hey, Vol fan:
Enjoy our thread.

Should be a fun season. Eight SEC games against good teams, an OOC game against Wisconsin, and easy payback win over ULM, and the FCS opponent should be a fun blowout as we look forward to the Iron Bowl. MTSU is meh though.
It's really tough to predict an undefeated season. We haven't lost at home since the A&M game in 2012, so hopefully that remains the same. Some good teams are coming into BDS. Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee, and LSU. I think with the way our front 7 is structured, I just can't see Arky or LSU winning. If either team looks more than competent passing the ball that may change. Ole Miss is a talented team, but personally I'm not too worried about their offense. We've had The Viles' number for some time now, but Josh Dobbs has given us some issues everytime we've played him, and they've got some talent. I think that game and @ Georgia are the most likely losses.
I'll say 11-1 regular season and SEC West champs. If we lose I'd rather it be to Georgia/UT with a chance to avenge the loss in Atlanta and go into the playoffs having beaten every team on the schedule.
Of course 15-0 would be fantastic. Gotta see the offense. I really have no idea what to expect. We're a little thin at RB, Kiffin likes to throw the rock, and we're stacked at WR and TE isn't lacking pass catching talent. Hopefully the OL is blowing open more holes, I think Dom Jackson should help. Loved Austin Shepherd, but he wasn't exactly a force in the running game. If Dom lives up to the hype, Henry is gonna be getting to the second level a lot more.

Gibbs, a 5-star from Peachtree Ridge High School, told the AJC that he plans on taking a trip to the state of Texas with his fellow Peachtree Ridge teammate, 4-star LB, Breon Dixon.
“I’m not necessarily getting tired of seeing the same, old schools, but I want to venture out and see something else,” Gibbs said.
The two 2017 prospects plan on visiting Texas, TCU, Baylor and Texas Tech, with a potential detour to a potential unnamed Oklahoma school.
Gibbs says he may possibly visit Auburn or Tennessee this weekend, but isn’t 100 percent sure on which school he’ll tour yet.

Per his head coach, Xavier Gaines, the 11th-ranked quarterback and 210th-ranked player overall in Scout's 2016 rankings, will hit the road and take official visits to Florida, Notre Dame and Alabama at dates to be determined. In addition to the trio of schools mentioned above, coach TaVaris Johnson says his prized signal-caller is entertaining the thought of taking an official visit to the University of Nebraska as well.
Gaines, 6-foot-3, 207 pounds, is a dynamic athlete under center who can dissect opposing defenses with his legs, while possessing a hose for an arm to push the pigskin downfield. Lake Wales (Fla.) High operates in the veer offense, so Gaines has had limited opportunities to spread the ball out and showcase his arm talent under center. There's some that view Gaines as a true athlete on the football field, but coach Johnson says all schools are courting him to play quarterback.

Talking about Alabama, Davidson said everything with the Crimson Tide starts with his relationship with the coaching staff in Tuscaloosa.
“My connections there are great,” Davidson said. “I have Kirby Smart, I have Bo Davis, I have all those guys there coming at me and chirping at me and talk, just trying to get my understanding of what it takes to get me up there. They want to know ‘do I have to sit down with you? Discussions?’ Anything they’ll do it.”
Planning to make his decision in front of the school at 11:30 a.m. CDT on Sept. 4 Davidson said for him it’s going to be another way to honor his mother. The leader of the family, Cynthia Carter passed away in February and this is a time that Davidson said even though she’s not around it won’t keep him from leaning on her for support.
“It’s going to be very tough,” Davidson said. “I’m just going to do it in my mother’s name. I’m going to talk it over with her the week before and I’m going to pray and ask her for the school to give me. That’s going to be the school.”
