Shawn Jennings set to announce:

quote:

Dadeville (Ala.) safety Shawndarius Jennings was one of the few in-state recruits invited to Alabama's cookout on Friday, where he was able to spend time with older brother and Crimson Tide freshman Anfernee Jennings. It was a laid back event that had little recruiting intensity, if any. "It was real cool, I had fun," he said. "They had like a 'Bama day with a lot of recruits, it was fun."
Perhaps ironically, Jennings is now ready to make a commitment between finalists Alabama, Auburn and Memphis. "Next Tuesday" he said. "I kinda want to do a press conference thing in Alex City." Jennings, who has long held each offer and been to each of the three college campuses, doesn't plan on taking additional visits in between now and the July 28 commitment date.

Alabama: "Alabama is in it because they have one of the best coaches ever and it just feels like home when I go up there, so it's not hard for me to adapt. I just love their whole fan base, too."

"I'm going to talk with family and just think about which one I want to spend the next four years at," he said.

WJTV – It’s not cooling off outside anytime soon and neither is the recruitment of Clinton junior quarterback Cam Akers. The future college running back continues to receive offers at a rapid pace.

Some things from the UGA thread, paraphrased from their Rivals guy:

quote:

2) Georgia has a legitimate shot at Rashan Gary, there is no doubt about that. We have not been able to get him on the phone yet, but from his actions alone, he was having a great time in Athens. His mother loves it, he loves it, and he was receiving a lot of attention from Rocker among others. Rochester and Tyler Clark were two that were glued to him most of the night, and Gary was enjoying every minute of it. Look for a story coming on Gary in next couple of days, but in my opinion, the Bulldogs are definitely in this one.

3) Mecole Hardman is one of the most explosive and dynamic athletes I have seen in this class. He has the speed, quickness, hands, and pretty much everything else you can think of. He spent most of the evening running reps with QB commit Jacob Eason, and the five-star was pushing for Hardman to commit. When Hardman commits, it is going to be a silent one......but right now, I do not see that commitment going to any other school besides Georgia.

4) Nate McBride named Alabama his leader on Friday, then Georgia evened the score on Saturday. This one is going to go down to the wire, and I don't see another team adding to the mix for the five-star. It will be a Alabama/Georgia battle for the next 19-monhts. To add to that, Georgia is a big time Vidalia community.

7) Demetris Robertson was also a prospect that received the red carpet this past weekend by the Georgia staff, but it wasn't only the staff after him. At one time, I looked over and noticed Jacob Eason's father standing next to him, watching drills together. They stood together a good 15-20 minutes talking........also McClendon, Schotty and Richt stopped by to talk with him throughout the night. I say this again, Georgia sits in a very good position for Robertson at the time. It will be interesting to see if he ends up taking the Stanford trip this summer, but mother will have a big say-so in this before it's over.

Also from the UGA thread:

quote:

Nate Mcbride basically says he Georgia is neck and neck with Bama but may have hinted at us having a slight edge according to our mods. He will be back for the Alabama game and really enjoyed his last visit. I think he ends up at Georgia but Bama is a player and always a threat.

Shyheim Carter had this to say about Pruitt per their thread:

quote:

I try to call him at least one or two times a week. He is a great defensive backs coach. In fact, I think he has a great chance to coach me one day."

2015 RB Jordan Stephenson was denied admission by Wisconsin.

We offered him last year out of Dallas. Maybe we can convince him to join the team.

I'm playing catch up due to jet lag and lack of sleep, but we offered this 2017 prospect during camp:

We may or may not have offered this 2016 DT last week (I'm trusting Magilla on this one ). He's from Virginia and plays for the same school that DaShawn Hand did.
