2. OT Greg Little

School: Allen High School (Allen, Texas)

Size: 6'6", 318 lbs

Recruitment Status: Committed to Texas A&M

Greg Little left Oregon firmly entrenched as high school football's premier offensive tackle. He didn't find himself in many dogfights unless top overall prospect Rashan Gary was lined up across from him.

"I have a ton of respect for Little because we both love to compete," Gary said. "Lose or win out here, I'm learning every rep. Those are the things that make you a better player moving forward."

Little entered high school as a tight end before shifting to tackle in 2013. He anchored the front line at Allen during back-to-back unbeaten state championship runs.

Though he's gained considerable size since that position switch, Little remains a supremely gifted athlete. He moves more like a basketball forward than a lumbering lineman and focuses on details that ultimately make the difference between very good and great.

"I'm strong enough, but I have a long body, and my thing is to have proper technique," he told Sayles. "The first thing is hand placement. If I know that [a defender's] favorite move is the rip move, I'm making a move so he can't go across. Hand placement is a big thing for me."

1. DT Rashan Gary

School: Paramus Catholic High School (Paramus, New Jersey)

Size: 6'4", 311 lbs

Recruitment Status: Considering Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan and Rutgers, among others

Rashan Gary remains the man on top of this recruiting class. He's yet to endure a letdown on the big stage and warranted lofty praise from Todd Huber, The Opening lineman leader.

"Rashan Gary is the best defensive lineman to ever come through this event," he tweeted afterward.

This was his second visit to the event. He wowed competitors last year as an underclassman and emerged as a leader this time around.

"I definitely felt more comfortable because the coaches knew me. It was honor to be invited back," Gary said. "I didn't notice if any players treated me differently because of rankings or anything. I'm just focused on being consistent and getting better."

He is a tireless worker who hasn't allowed constant praise to go to his head. Gary approaches drills with the same exuberance and attentiveness he displayed as a freshman.

His goal is to improve off a junior campaign that featured 55 tackles, 24 quarterback hurries and 14 sacks.

I know it's Bleacher Report, but I find it very interesting that they don't have Mack Wilson in the Top 25.

Shea Dixon thinks there is a chance Ben Davis ends up in their class.

247Sports had seven analysts covering the entirety of The Opening. We polled each of the seven analysts and asked them to pick their dream team from the event. We've got the results below. But first a few notes:

*There is an extra offensive player on both the first and second teams because of ties in the voting.

*The defensive teams are comprised of the most vote-getters regardless of position so there was no designated number of linebackers, cornerbacks and safeties.

*Florida State tight end commit Isaac Nauta was on every ballot.

*Ole Miss quarterback commit Shea Patterson, four-star safety Nigel Warrior and four-star wide receiver Kyle Davis were on 6 of 7 ballots.

*Safety Brandon Jones, cornerback Levonta Taylor and linebacker Rahshaun Smith were each on 5 of 7 ballots.

*Every prospect that received a vote is included in the honorable mention section.

Shea said that it is a tight race with LSU for Rashard Lawrence, but we currently have the edge.

So UGA fans on their 247 board are pissy about this quote from Drake:

quote:

He gave the Bulldogs plenty of locker room material Wednesday, when asked why he chose Alabama over Georgia.

"I think it was because of the fact that it was Alabama and I like to be a winner," Drake said, per the Macon Telegraph. "Honestly at the end of the day, going to Alabama would put me in the best position to be the person I want to be on and off the field."

I used to like Kipp. Now he's whoring for page clicks.

I don't see the big issue. We were coming off of a title when he signed. Of course he is going to think he made a good choice when he chose Alabama over UGA.

I think this answers the question to whether Pass is a priority:
quote:

You know you're a priority when Nick Saban spends the majority of a whole day with you during Elite Camp.

That's what happened Tuesday when top quarterback target Jawon Pass visited Alabama Tuesday.

"I hung out with coach Saban the whole time," Pass said. "I've never been with him that much. He's real cool. I can see myself playing for him."

From that article it sounds like we should be on commitment watch with Pass.

Sorry, Saint.

A pair of Alabama seniors had some high praise for the Crimson Tide's freshmen that were a part of the team's top-ranked recruiting class for 2015. On Wednesday at SEC Media Days, inside linebacker Reggie Ragland revealed several names of newly-enrolled freshmen that have caught his attention in Alabama's summer workouts.

"A bunch of the freshmen have," Ragland said. "I know Kendall Sheffield has, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Ronnie Harrison. And then on the offensive side, Damien Harris and Calvin Ridley. I think those guys will get a shot of playing this year."

Sheffield, Fitzpatrick, Harris and Ridley were all five-star prospects, according to the 247Sports Composite, and arrived on campus this summer, while Harrison enrolled in January and quickly began to turn heads with his efforts on the practice field.

Another senior that made the rounds at the media event at the Wynfrey Hotel, running back Kenyan Drake, gave top marks to the whole freshman class, even saying some of them have stepped up into leadership roles on the field.

"Really, the entire freshman class has really impressed me," Drake said on Wednesday. "I think they've really came in with hunger and with a lot of will to learn from the older classes that's been here. And they've definitely taken on even leadership roles to understand that this is a very important year and every year is moving forward to continue the process and continue the legacy that other players have left in front of them."

While Drake did not reveal specific names of players, Ragland went into great detail when describing the freshmen.

"If Kendall keeps doing what he's doing, Kendall's going to win some ballgames for us," Ragland said of the young defensive backs. "And Minkah's going to lock up, a very physical guy. Both of them quiet as can be, but don't let that fool you."

Ragland also recollected a memorable catch from Ridley, who was the No. 1 receiver for 2015, per the 247Sports Composite.

"The first day Calvin got out there, he made a diving, one-handed catch," he said, "so I think Calvin will have a great shot this year to get some playing time."

Good to hear about Sheffield and Fitzpatrick. Between them and Tony Brown and Marlon, hopefully we'll have a pair of shutdown corners for a couple years

With respect to the Drake article, it's mainly the headline: "Alabama RB Kenyan Drake takes shot at Georgia"

What was the shot exactly in Drake's answer? The headline was intended to get UGA fans upset over a totally innocuous comment and I have no doubt it worked.

Alabama is a winning program is somehow offensive to Kipp.

I guess Kipp is taking it as a shot at UGA by Drake saying Alabama is a winning program, maybe insinuating that UGA is not? Sounds like something that Finebaum would put out to rile up the masses.

I'd expect that any recruit that we lost to another school would probably say how they liked something better about the other school. I don't get what's the big deal in Drake's comment.
