I think a little of both, the talent at the position wasn't enough to their liking to divert from the "throw it to Amari" plan.

I think it was just that they didn't want Blake trying to read the defenses. That's why most of the throws were to Amari and he was the first choice.

I hate to say it, but Cole is one of the best TE prospects I've seen on film in a decade. He destroys people at the point of attack. Sure hope we turn the heat up on him and can flip him. He and Kaden Smith would make me thrilled for a TE haul for one season. We would soon be back to normal on perimeter blocking. Not pulling Jackson Harris was a tough pill to swallow.

Doesn't Ole Miss already have 2 RBs committed? Even though I think Denzel Mitchell is a DB in college.
I'm sure Mykel Jones will be strongly pulled there by Shea as well.
Not a big deal with Harris and Flowers in the fold, but still need one. Hope they can wrangle one of White or Dedrick Mills. Tough runners.

Interesting tidbits on FSU247 site about this past class. I'll paraphrase the ones relevant to us:
-Minkah: The thought is that what ultimately kept him at UA was that he committed to Alabama and didn't want to go back on his word. They said they almost pulled it off. He talked to their staff almost every day. It seems that Cristobal had to put out several fires.
-Ridley: UA staff sold him on being the next Coop. Several people in his family were on UA's side while nobody was in FSU's corner.
Ronnie: This one was particularly interesting to me. Apparently Pruitt thought Ronnie was too slow. The new DC only had Pruitt's eval to go on. The new DC, Kelly, wanted Ronnie to camp to earn an offer. Ronnie didn't think he should have to camp.
What I found interesting about all of that is that Pruitt was on him like white on rice at UGA. Did he change his mind?

According to someone with superb La. contacts that I know, Bama is in excellent shape here. This person's HS contacts also think he's one of the most underrated recruits in the country and can't understand why he isn't the #1 RB in the nation. We'll see. He looks incredible on his highlight film.

Another thing to add:
Kelly from FSU was recruiting Minkah up until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That could explain why his LOI took forever to get submitted.
I guess we will never know how close we came to losing him.

Most of that is correct. However, the part about Pruitt thinking he was too slow isn't. Not sure where the mod got that. Pruitt loved him. We owe a big debt of gratitude to Kelly at FSU. That part is true.

FSU and Miami really turned off SBB's mom with some of their pitches, a little too candid about what goes on there.

Similar to Minkah's parents saying that FSU was a party school and would be a bad influence for him. May have to add Jameis Winston to my Christmas card list. All of his bullshite is the main reason we have Fitz, and could be one of the reasons we got Ridley.

Gonna help with Cavin and Jerry Jeudy too, SBB's mom holds some influence/pull over them.
Even then, when you've got 2-3 close friends/family there, doesn't that kinda make it an easy choice?

Cece announced on twitter today that he's faxing his LOI in to UF today. This kid is such an attention whore. He seems to have the biggest bust factor in the 2015 class.
