The spring camp season gave Rivals.com analysts a chance to see hundreds of prospects from the 2016 class in action, and resulted in movements throughout the individual position rankings. Here is a look at the big movers and position-specific storylines following the spring rankings update.

The first change comes at No. 5, where Michigan State commit Messiah deWeaver moves up three spots after winning MVP at the Cleveland Rivals Camp. The number of players ranked actually decreases from 25 to 20 as several move out to other positions.

FULLBACK

NOTABLE RISER: Kingston Davis, Prattville, Ala. (Debuts at No. 1)

There are also two new five-stars - Salomon and N'Keal Harry of Chandler, Ariz. - who rank Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, behind No. 1 Nate Craig-Myers.

TIGHT ENDS

NOTABLE RISER: Kaden Smith, Flower Mound (Tex.) Marcus (Up 6 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Devante Brooks, Washington (D.C.) St. John's College (Down 10 spots)
COMMENTS: Smith's rise and Brooks' drop account for the changes in the top five. Florida State commit Isaac Nauta remains No. 1 and is headed to the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour in Baltimore and he will be joined by three more in the top 10 - Naseir Upshur, Jamal Pettigrew and Gabe Angel.

OFFENSIVE TACKLES

NOTABLE RISER: Jonah Williams, Folsom, Calif. (Up 8 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: E.J. Price, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer (Down 5 spots)
COMMENTS: Williams, an Alabama commit, earned his fifth star and takes over as the No. 2 player in the rankings behind Texas A&M commit Gregory Little. The rankings did not see many changes, though Kentucky commit Landon Young and Duke commit Robert Kraeling earned their fourth stars and climbed into the top 20.

OFFENSIVE GUARDS

NOTABLE RISER: Landon Dickerson, Hudson (N.C.) South Caldwell (Up 13 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: None
COMMENTS: Dickerson and Florida State commit Baveon Johnson both earn 6.0 Rivals Ratings in this update and move into the top three behind No. 1 Patrick Hudson, a Baylor commit. They headline a group of prospects that make positive moves in this update, following a good spring for the offensive guard position.

NOTABLE DROPPER: Shane Simmons, Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha (Down 3 spots)
COMMENTS: Former No. 1 Breland Brandt moves to the outside linebacker ranking, making room for Antonneous Clayton to take over the top spot in his first appearance on the list. Bowen's rise moves him to the No. 3 position on the list and into the Rivals100. Clayton, Bowen and Bryson Young are the new four-stars in the ranking.

STRONGSIDE DEFENSIVE ENDS

NOTABLE RISER: Xavier Kelly, Wichita (Kan.) East (Up 6 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Patrick Bethel, Vero Beach, Fla. (Down 9 spots)
COMMENTS: This ranking grows by ten and now features 35 prospects after several moved in from other positions and more players at the position were rated. California native Oluwole Betiku moves up for the second straight update and cracks the top five at No. 4. Outside of the players moving in from other positions, Florida State commit Keir Thomas makes the highest debut at No. 19 after moving up from a 5.6 to a 5.7 Rivals Rating.

DEFENSIVE TACKLES

NOTABLE RISER: Dexter Lawrence, Wake Forest, N.C. (Up 2 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Jovan Swann, Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove (Down 10 spots)
COMMENTS: Lawrence is the new No. 1 overall prospect in the Rivals100 and takes over the top spot in this ranking from fellow five-star Rashan Gary. The only other change in the top ten involves a pair of Texas-based prospects, as Alabama commit Kendell Jones jumps up to No. 9 where Chris Daniels previously stood.

INSIDE LINEBACKERS

NOTABLE RISER: Krys Barnes, Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty (Up 8 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Joel Dublanko, Aberdeen, Wash. (Down 7 spots)
COMMENTS: Ben Davis, Lokeni Toailoa and Tre Lamar retain the top three spots on the list, but several changes happen immediately after. Barnes, a UCLA commit, jumps up to No. 4 while Jaquan Yulee, Elysee Mbem-Bosse and Jeffrey McCulloch all make moves into the top 10.

OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS

NOTABLE RISER: Camilo Eifler, Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O'Dowd (Up 6 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Jeremiah Moon, Hoover, Ala. (Down 20 spots)
COMMENTS: Surprisingly, outside linebacker is the position that boasts the most five-stars in the 2016 Rivals100. The group grew by one as Mique Juarez moves over from the Athlete position and takes over as the top player in the ranking. He is followed at No. 2 by USC commit Daelin Hayes, who moves up three spots after winning position MVP at the Cleveland Rivals Camp.

That's a hell of a drop.

CORNERBACKS

NOTABLE RISER: Jordan Parker, Pittsburg, Calif. (Up 9 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Khalil Ladler, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy (Down 8 spots)
COMMENTS: Five-star Levonta Taylor remains No. 1 in the ranking, but Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro's Byron Murphy takes over as No. 2 after his move from a 5.9 up to a 6.0 Rivals Rating. Northwestern commit Roderick Campbell and Oregon commit Troy Warner are new four-stars who crack the top 20 in the ranking.

SAFETIES

NOTABLE RISER: CJ Pollard, Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra (Up 8 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Micah Croom, La Mirada, Calif. (Down 27 spots)
COMMENTS: There is only one change in the top 10, with Elk Grove (Calif.) Franklin's Lamar Jackson moving in from the Athlete position and up to a 5.9 Rivals Rating to take over the No. 6 spot that was previously occupied by Gardena (Calif) Juniperro Serra's, Brandon Burton, who now goes over to the Athlete position. The ranking grows by ten and now features 50 total prospects.

ATHLETES

NOTABLE RISER: Christian Wallace, Katy (Tex.) Tompkins (Up 6 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Zach Hall, Tyler (Tex.) Lee (Down 19 spots)
COMMENTS: As the spring progresses, many prospects settle into specific positions while others start to be recruited at additional positions. For that reason, the Athlete category saw a lot of shake-up this update. What did not change, however, was Savannah (Ga.) Christian five-star Demetris Robertson remaining the No. 1 ranked player at the position.

With the summer camp circuit behind us and a slight lull in the recruiting process while takes center stage for college coaches and prospects alike, Inside the Gators decided to take a look at five prospects with whom the Florida Gators have hurt themselves with over the summer months.

quote:

Elijah Holyfield | 5-foot-10, 195-pounds | College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy

What Was Said: "That is the thing I like most about them, that is the main thing, that they run the ball," said Holyfield. "They showed me some film from Alabama and stuff like that, so it's a pretty nice look for me."

Competition: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee

Skinny: At the start of the spring it looked like the Gators were going to be a player here with his connections to offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier dating back to his time at Michigan. However, after a visit early this spring there has been little mention of the Gators from Holyfield and no plans to visit again in the future.

Mac showing Alabama film to recruits.

FWIW, Bone said yesterday that we made a huge impression on Holyfield during camp.

With the spring evaluation period behind us and the summer camp sessions about to kick off, Inside the Gators decided to take a look at five prospects with whom the Florida Gators have helped themselves with over the six week evaluation period.

quote:

Cavin Ridley | 6-foot-1, 190-pounds | Deerfield Beach (Fla.)

What Was Said: "Right now, I kind of really have a top three. It's not set in stone or definite, but it would be Alabama, Florida and Florida State."

Competition: Alabama and Florida State

Skinny: Though he named a top three about a month ago, we continue to hear that Florida is in great shape here, and could even be considered to be in the driver's seat. The Gators are after Ridley hard, and have a depth chart that could get the four-star on the field early. It's the immediate playtime that Florida is offering that is helping their cause here.

What a commitment would mean to Florida: If the Gators were to eventually reel in Ridley they would be getting a receiver that fights for the ball in air, and a guy with homerun capabilities. The Gators need some playmakers on the offensive side of the ball in 2016 and Ridley would be a big time get for the staff.
