JuCo offensive tackle Charles Baldwin of ASA in New York is one of the top junior college prospects in all of America. He named his favorites to Scout...
One of the top junior college offensive linemen in the nation is ASA's Charles Baldwin. ASA is an elite JuCo program in New York for producing offensive linemen to the FBS level.
Baldwin has a sensational offer sheet that includes Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Syracuse, Miami, and Virginia Tech. The latest to offer the 6-foot-6, 305 pound tackle is Michigan State.
The Big Ten East contender is making a move up Baldwin's list right away.
"Oklahoma and Alabama are the two at the top," Baldwin said. "Michigan State is pushing them now, though. Michigan State is definitely up there."
The Spartan head coach made it known that the Michigan State depth chart would be a promising situation for the junior college talent.
"It was cool to talk to head coach Mark Dantonio," Baldwin pointed out. "I called him when he was at his lake house but we still were able to talk for quite a while. He told me how both of their offensive tackles are seniors this year. He said my playing style fits theirs, and they'd love to have me there in the green and white."
Michigan State became a school of admiration for Baldwin once he arrived for junior college in New York. He did his homework, and found their playing style and success and immediately became very interested.
"I have always liked Michigan State," Baldwin stressed. "Their offensive line is very good, year in and year out. They have a great run blocking scheme. It's the best in the country. They move the ball so well up there."
"They are a national powerhouse now," he added. "I liked them ever since I attended junior college in New York. I started looking at the different college offensive lines and linemen. They were one that definitely stood out to me. It made me want an offer from them, and now it's came."
Oklahoma and Alabama have always been near the top of the list for the four-star offensive tackle. The Sooners coaching staff has always stood out to him.
"Coach Bedenbaugh and I have a great relationship," Baldwin shared. "My relationship with him has always been great, and at one time it was the best one I had with any college coach. He and coach Lincoln Riley are my favorite parts about them. They have a great staff in general and they know how to win."

Baldwin also has a blossoming relationship with Mario Cristobal, the Crimson Tide offensive line coach.
"I'm very close with Coach Cristobal from Alabama," he admitted. "I'm closer with Coach Cristobal than I am with any coach that recruits me. We talk a lot. It's been a great time. They've been stressing to me that they need offensive linemen in this class. They're making me a priority."
The success of the last several years has made Alabama a strong candidate to land Baldwin's service.
"Alabama wins year in and year out so of course I'm looking at them seriously," Baldwin discussed. "They've had offensive linemen selected high in the NFL Draft for many consecutive years. They produce NFL talent and compete for championships every year."
A fourth school in the running for Baldwin's pledge also hails from the SEC.
"Ole Miss is another school of high interest for me," he revealed. "Coach Matt Luke and I have a relationship that is beginning to grow quite a bit. He knows his football very well. They produce very talented linemen and have had a lot of success lately. They could have a strong year in the next draft's first round. They're on a good trajectory."
The visits will be the next step for Baldwin.
"I want to visit Oklahoma, Alabama, Michigan State, and I'll probably visit Ole Miss, too," he noted. "I don't have any dates set. I'm going to be working on it, though. I'll try to squeeze at least a few of them in the summer. I graduate in December so I need to put together a plan."

Ole Miss was his leader last month and now they aren't in his Top 4?

Pelicanpreps.com will be releasing a position by position ranking of Louisiana's top 2016 prospects. The athletes ranked are not set in stone and subject to change as the weeks pass. Here is a look at the top 10 offensive linemen regardless of position in Louisiana.

(1) Willie Allen
John Curtis (LA)
Whats not to like about Patriots' tackle Willie Allen. He is big, tall and nimble for a guy his size. The best thing about him is his mean streak. This combination has yielded multiple offers for Allen. He also carries a 4 star ranking per rivals.com. Good enough for no. 1 in the state and also tops our list among offensive linemen for 2016. Allen has no time table for a decision, but does plan to visit more schools in the summer.

(2) Donavaughn Campbell
Ponchatoula (LA)
Domination is the best word to describe Campbell's play. Turn on the tape and before long you notice defenders being blown off the ball, sometimes as far as 10 yards downfield. He is a load at 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds, but his is also extremely agile. His best work is at the point of attack. If he gets his hands on you the battle is pretty much over. Campbell has the speed to pull around out front ball carriers and finish blocks with authority. The LSU coaching staff received his pledge back in January, but that hasn't stopped the full court press by other teams. Expect Alabama to pull out all the stops for the Ponchatoula star.

Whenever a recruit visits Alabama and meets Nick Saban, and sees Bryant-Denny stadium and gets a taste of what it's like to play for the Crimson Tide, a commitment cannot be that shocking. Yet in the case of 2017 five-star running back Najee Harris, that much is true.
The Antioch, Calif., standout took a trip to Tuscaloosa in mid-April and decided to end his recruitment on the spot. He seems like a perfect fit in Alabama's offense -- heck, in any offense -- because with his mix of size and speed he could work wonders in the SEC.
The 6-foot-2, 222-pound prospect who has been compared to a faster, more mobile Derrick Henry, looked good at the Rivals Camp Series in Las Vegas earlier in the spring, but the sense was given that the recruiting process would be taken slowly, especially with so many programs still getting involved.
Harris is a reserved kid, not exactly quiet but not exactly a big talker, either, so committing that early to a school that far away was surprising. Alabama often gets the best, though, and Harris is in that conversation. Once he saw what the Crimson Tide offered, he jumped on board quickly. -- Gorney

Five-star athlete Demetris Robertson had some free time this week in the middle of his track meet at the state finals, so he decided to get in another visit to a school he's become very familiar with.
"I just swung over to Georgia to take a visit and spend a lot of time with Coach [Mark] Richt," Robertson said. "I ate lunch with him at Snelling dining hall. I had a Philly cheese-steak with a salad and he had pizza and lasagna. He showed me different parts of the campus, and we went up to the Chapel Bell. I rung the bell. That was pretty cool. Coach Richt was right there and we took a lot of pictures too.
The more the Savannah-based prospect visits Athens, the more comfortable he seems to get with the campus.
"It feels like home up there," Robertson said. "It's a nice place to be at. It reminds me of where I come from, and I really love it there."
With the spring recruiting period in full swing, Georgia's assistant coaches were out on the road trying to find future Bulldogs. That meant Robertson got to spend quality time with Richt and a new member of the staff.
"I talked to the strength and conditioning coach up there, too," Robertson said. "All the other coaches were out recruiting. It was just me, Mark Richt, and my coach. I went into his office. He said I was the first recruit to use his restroom in his office. He has a restroom and a shower in his office."
The visit only strengthened the bond between Richt and the overall No. 6 ranked prospect in the Class of 2016.
"I get along with Coach Richt very well," Robertson said. "He told me he thinks I'm the top skill guy in the country and he wants me to go there and help out Georgia to become an SEC contender and even a national championship contender with our 2016 class."
Of course, there was the matter of the state meet. Robertson won the Class state title in the 100 meters with a time of 10.86 seconds. Pruitt and wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon were in attendance to see Robertson take first. The two coaches could wind up fighting over Robertson were he to commit to the Bulldogs.
With versatility to spare, Robertson has shown the ability to a number of positions on the football field effectively. Richt doesn't care which position Robertson wants to play; he just wants him at Georgia.
"He said I can play anywhere I want to play," Robertson said. "I don't know yet what I want to do. I've grown to love playing receiver, but I know I can play DB a little bit too."
Though Robertson has been on Georgia's campus a number of times already, he will be back again soon.
"I'll be back up there next week with my mom," Robertson said. "It's my sister's graduation. She's graduating from Newnan, so we'll be up there close again. The whole family is coming up."
After making a very early commitment to Alabama, Robertson recently decided to back out of that decision to open up his recruitment. Many thought his mother was behind that decision, but he was on board with the move
"It was my feeling, too," Robertson said. "She said we should think it over. I really loved it down there [at Alabama] and still do love it, but she just wanted me to look at everything."
Going forward, he plans to give every school a shot to win him over.
"I'd say I'm wide open," Robertson said of where his recruitment stands right now.
Up next for Robertson is a trip to Baltimore for Rivals Five-Star Challenge, and he hopes to have the opportunity to get some reps with a pair of five-star quarterbacks committed to SEC schools.
"I want to work with Jacob Eason and Shea Patterson," Robertson said.
