Recently back on the market after a surprising de-commitment from Alabama, the five-star do-it-all prospect says the decision was motivated by family. "It was just my mom," Robertson said. "We talked about it, and she said I did it too early. She wants to me look at everything and see what everyone has to offer. Alabama is still in the race, though, most definitely."Crimson Tide staff members were understanding about the move. "We've got a pretty good relationship with me, Coach (Kirby) Smart, and Coach Napier," Robertson said. "They're great coaches and great guys. We're just trying to build it better. They're still one of my top schools most definitely. It'll come down to one of them, Georgia, Alabama, those guys." Meanwhile, the in-state Bulldogs have used opportunity to ramp up an already heavy pursuit.
"Georgia is probably one of the main schools that's pushing the hardest," Robertson said. "They've been telling me a lot of stuff, and I've been talking to the whole staff a lot. Actually, Coach (Mark) Richt was telling me good luck on the meet today before I got here. I really appreciated that. It's everyone on that staff, really. Coach (Bryan) McClendon came to one of my track meets, as well. "Both teams will battle against a host of the nation's top programs. "Florida came by, Michigan State, LSU, South Carolina, Georgia Tech," Robertson said. "Alabama came by. Coach (Lane) Kiffin and Coach Smart both came by. Coach Schottenheimer from Georgia has been by. Coach (Mike) Ekeler, as well. All of those guys are coming to see me. I'm just telling them all how I really feel about their school. "Though he named a top three of Alabama, Stanford, and Georgia at Rivals Camp Charlotte, Robertson is hesitant to make such a list now, though it appears none of those names have fallen in his eyes. "It's hard, because everyday it's different," Robertson said. "You have different relationships and different connections with coaches and different people. I'd still say those are my top schools. FSU, LSU, Ohio State, Southern Cal are in there, as well. "Cuts to the list will be coming soon, but don't expect to see Savannah native announcing a new decision in the near future. "It'll be soon (that I cut it down)," Robertson said. "I count everybody in. I don't want to put anyone out. I'm going to take my time this time. I just want to really look at everything and see what everyone has to offer. "With summer closing in, expect to catch the newly minted state champ at a campus near you soon. "I'm going to take as many visits as I can," Robertson said. "I'll probably go to the west coast after school is out. I'll visit Stanford, Southern Cal, and UCLA. I'm going to visit Georgia probably tomorrow, if I can, or anytime next week. Also, Alabama, too."
