TE recruiting has been the worst of any position on the team IMO. Yes, OJ was highly rated but who else have we signed the last few years? In recent years we've had to rely on converted OL and DL just to have a sufficient number of TEs on the roster.

Faciane, Vogler, Freitag were all pretty highly rated guys. Just didn't pan out. Howard has been underwhelming. We've had better production from the H spot. Peak was the last TE we had that was consistently targeted, Smelley was one of our biggest weapons at H in 2011

Worth noting Bobby Williams is their position coach

Each of the last several cycles I've asked why we weren't signing at least 1 more TE and then we wind up with a converted OL and a converted DL playing in games at TE. Maybe the coaching is subpar too but we haven't done a good job recruiting the position IMO

ETA: OJ had similar receiving stats as Peak

It's a catch 22. We don't get many elite TEs because we don't use them, and we don't use them because we don't have many elite TEs.

Will Arkansas lose one of the best in its state? The Hogs are close to keeping most of the elite prospects in its home state at home, but on Sunday, Scout 300 wide receiver K.J. Hill de-committed from the Razorbacks.
A visit to UA could still take place on January 30, but this weekend he plans to visit Ohio State. The Buckeyes do not have much room left, but it appears they would make rook for the top five prospect out of Arkansas.
Another interesting twist on this is -- Hill's close friend and former teammate at North Little Rock, Altee Tenpenny is transferring from Alabama and Ohio State is on his list.
Former Arkansas offensive coordinator Jim Chaney, now at Pittsburgh is a big reason why Hill is back on the market.

Mag made it for me a couple of days ago. I thought it was fitting for this time of year.

Kirby Smart will visit Prince Tega on Thursday. Prince has indicated that he will take all 5 OVs and his recruitment will likely go past signing day.

Doesn't seem like a typical Bama player, but wonder if he would fit in Kiffin's system somewhere. Maybe I am viewing this through crimson-shaded glasses, but the fact that we are pursuing someone who wouldn't fit the typical Bama mode might indicate that Kiffin plans to be here for at least another year.

apparently rivals just reranked. Blake feel. Others may have as well.
