10. ATH Ray-Ray McCloud III
Tampa (Fla.) Sickles

McCloud was used more often in the offense on Tuesday and he's a threat every single time he has the ball in his hands. The Clemson commit was utilized on a bunch of screen passes and short throws near the line of scrimmage and then blockers would open things up moving down the field. McCloud, a five-star prospect by Rivals.com, is so fast that he can break big plays every time he touches the ball.

Alabama commit Lester Cotton beasted Terry Beckner Jr., a five-star defensive end, during a one-on-one drill. Cotton easily threw Beckner Jr. to the ground during one drill. During the rematch, Cotton held his ground again.

It was an up-and-down day for quarterback commit Blake Barnett -- no quarterback was able to get into a rhythm -- but his most important work was during breaks in drills. The California five-star quarterback has taken it upon himself to recruit players like Marshall, running back Damien Harris and others. He was also chatting with offensive line commits Lester Cotton, Richie Petitbon and Brandon Kennedy during the morning practice.

Cotton and Kennedy both looked good during one-on-one drills. Kennedy, one of the nation's top center prospects, did a nice job slowing down 300-pounder Tim Settle. But the whole offensive line struggled with defensive standout Byron Cowart during 7-on-7 drills. Cowart and Co. frequently got into the backfield, with the Auburn target finishing with four sacks during one period of drills.

AL.com didn't see much of Hale Hentges on Monday, but those that watched him closely were very impressed with his performance. He moves well at 6-foot-4, 230-pounds and should be excel at both blocking and catching once he gets to Tuscaloosa.

Alabama cornerback commit Minkah Fitzpatrick struggled during one stretch of 7-on-7 play. Fitzpatrick got bead badly on back-to-back long throws, including one against receiver DaMarkus Lodge.

Five-star Daron Payne, who is down to Alabama and Auburn, didn't dominate on Monday, but he looked solid. He moved well and more than held his own during drills. The slimmed down Payne is moving better than he did during the majority of his senior season.

Alabama offensive line commit Lester Cotton, No. 3 on AL.com's A-List, missed practice Tuesday due to a concussion suffered on Monday. Cotton suffered a hard hit from five-star defensive end Byron Cowart during the first practice of the week, and could be held out for multiple days.

Alabama quarterback commit Blake Barnett looked sharp during 7-on-7 drills in the rain on Tuesday. He had a few receivers slip on routes on him, but he did a nice job of finding the open receiver. Barnett is at his best when he can move around outside the pocket, but he showed some nice touch on Tuesday.

Five-star commit Calvin Ridley is an athletic freak, but had a quiet day Tuesday matched up against Iman Marshall, the nation's top-rated cornerback, for most of the day. He was rarely targeted during 7-on-7 drills.

Offensive line commit Richie Petitbon had a better day Tuesday than he did Monday. The 6-foot-4, 313-pound offensive guard from Washington, D.C. looks very good pulling and getting out in front as a lead blocker. He should fit into Alabama's offensive scheme nicely when he arrives on campus next year.

Former NFL head coach Herm Edwards spent a lot of time talking and instructing Alabama's pair of safety commits Deionte Thompson and Shawn Burgess-Becker. Burgess-Becker looked very solid during drills; he's very fluid and has good coverage skills.

Kendall Sheffield was out most of yesterday with a slight injury but is back today

He looks really quick. Not as tall as the other guys but moves really well.
