@DerekTysonESPN: Bama OL commit Lester Cotton is also slow getting up. Getting looked at by a trainer.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Who stood out for Team Armour on the offensive and defensive line during Day 1 of practice for the Under Armour All-America Game on Monday? Here’s a look at the Top Performers.

Daron Payne, DT, Birmingham (Ala.) Shades Valley: It’s fair to question Payne’s conditioning. At times, he had to take a knee and catch his breath. But when he lined up and competed, Payne, who will pick between Alabama and Auburn at this week's game, arguably was the best defensive linemen on his team. For a 348-pounder, Payne is exceptionally quick and explosive off the ball. He gets into the body of the center and guard fast, then uses great body quickness to disengage, and rip through them. Payne has the frame/build and strength of a nose, but the quickness of a three-technique tackle. He couldn’t be blocked Monday.

Fap. Payne and Frazier will make a fierce rotation at nose. They're both the same kind of player, big and strong enough to hold their ground against a double team but both are quick enough to collapse the pocket and get after quarterbacks.

Apparently we're trying to get in late on Iman Marshall.

He's rooming with Barnett. Marshall said he's spoken with Kiffin and is considering an official to bama on January 30th (Michigan and oregon also being considered for this). Says he's hopeful go get a call from Saban to "discuss some things"

A few questions here...why did we wait until 12/11 to offer this kid and why isn't Saban on the phone with him right now? I know it's a pipe dream but doesn't hurt to try. Fitz, Marshall, Sheffield my gracious.

Payne is being recruited as a 3 tech, says he doesn't want to play the 0. Still thinks Bama will put him at nose, which is why he prefers Auburn's scheme.

Marshall had an offer for a while, but he never knew about it until recently.

If/win Harbaugh happens, sounds like hell visit UM on that last official.

I know this thread is for class of 2015 but do any of you know if we are recruiting Cam Akers from Clinton, Ms. Kid is just a sophomore QB/ATH and was in most people's opinion the best player in the state of Mississippi.

I don't know much about Akers, but I graduated from Clinton. In my experience, most of the kids that are college football "ready" from the town seem to be huge MSU fans.

Bama commit Minkah Fitzpatrick is the real deal. Long, physical, and smooth. He's been locking it down early on
