LSU was not the only one with commitments in the house. Recent Alabama pledge Daylon Charlot was also making noise. Texas A&M and LSU both got in touch with him shortly after his commitment, but he feels strong about his decision. He does plan to take future visits to Texas A&M and Miami, and LSU also remains in the picture.

FB Chandler Cox news:

"The visit was really good," said Cox. "I saw all the facilities. We saw the new weight room. I talked to Coach Saban. I left excited. I left with a love of Alabama. I was definitely excited after seeing everything.

"We went to Auburn on Saturday," he said. "I loved both of the trips. It makes my choice much harder. There are differences between the two, just a different feeling at both places. I really like both of them. My top three now are definitely Auburn, Alabama and Florida. It may change when I go to other schools."

Class of 2015 5-star wide receiver Calvin Ridley is taking it slow when it comes to the recruiting process, but he said Saturday that he knows four schools that starting to stand out above the crowd.

"Alabama, Clemson, Louisville and Georgia are the four that are sticking out," the nation's No. 11 overall player said. "I want to make sure I get to visit all of them in the next few months."

Clowney's 40 has me thinking, what was Hand's times at all those recruiting combines? I remember something about sub 4.6 at 260 something pounds.

Granted by the time he leaves Bama I imagine he's gonna be 6'3" 275lbs, so definitely not gonna run sub 4.6 at the combine.

Still, with offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State and basically every other college in America, Settle says he is nowhere near making a decision.

“Everything’s open. I’m wide open,” he said. “Open like a wide open door, I guess.”

I like Settle, getting him and Payne both would be awesome, and I want Payne more because he's an in state guy, but I'm not sure Payne is better than Settle. What do you think TS?

I think landing Payne is more important due to his statement this weekend that Auburn was his "dream school."

As far as on the field I think Payne is the better player too, but it's close. I don't think Settle is as strong, but he is quicker.

Landing both would be ideal, especially with other SEC schools (ATM-Mack, Georgia-Thompson?, Auburn-Thompson?, LSU-Moton) landing 4 and 5-star DT talent in this year's class.

Four-star Alabama OG commit Dallas Warmack says that he is still committed to the Tide but Auburn is giving him something to think about. He says that he is considering Alabama, Auburn and South Carolina.

Yeah, getting Payne is bigger like ya said. I definitely wanna see us land both. Nothing wrong with landing just one, but I'd love to see both. Two big guys like that to pair with recent front 7 guys like Jon Allen, Da'Shawn Hand, Josh Frazier, Rashaan Evans, and Christian Miller. Plus Mekhi Brown in this class.

If he's anything like his brother in terms of ability and especially work ethic, he's one of the guys I really want to keep in this class. Especially keep him away from Auburn.

Been watching Calvin Ridley's highlights and I swear it looks like he is playing for the Wildcats. You know, the team from the 1980s movie of the same name with Goldie Hawn.

What do you guys think Dee Liner's role is gonna be? It seems like we keep forgetting about him in the midst of all the new guys.

Ivory
Lake
Robinson
Allen

4/6 on the two deep are back, then we add Reed and Pettway from JUCO and guys like Hand and Frazier. I think Liner could find a role. He and Hand could be the two rotational Ends behind Robinson and Allen, imo.

WR Calvin Ridley, Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch
The five-star receiver had a slow day Saturday, but he bounced back with a force on Sunday and played up to his ranking. Ridley has a big frame and long arms that he uses to climb the ladder and catch the ball over defenders. The one knock against this Rivals100 pass catcher is his slight build, but he has a frame that looks like it could easily add muscle.

WR Malik Dear appears to be headed to Mississippi State. He visited us for our first Junior Day. Great slot guy.

I thought Charlot would be a good slot WR, but after watching his highlights I think he will play outside. He's good.
