Does Chris become the next Rashaan Evans and switch to ILB, does he have the skill set to make the switch? I watched the All star game he was in and I didn't see much from him coming off the edge, maybe I missed it.

I hope not, we have basically no proven talent at edge. Need all the potential there we can get

I concur, pass rushers seems like one of the harder positions to evaluate but is also one of the most important

It wouldnt surprise me if the staff experiments with that. It'd likely depend on whether it's seen as a need based on how the overall depth is looking inside vs outside. At a glance, his size, and athleticism appear to be transferable.

Thanks for your contributions brother. I know your time is valuable and I think most of us appreciate it.

I mean we have Will Anderson coming in who can pass rush but we have plenty of young talent at the ILB position wherr he shouldn't be needed.

We have a lot of really good young OLB talent too.

you never know. saban has had edge guys out of hs end up at ilb and others end up at dt.

personally feel like braswell is the kind of edge who stays there.

I wish this problem was just about 2 edge rushers trying to get to the QB.

Once upon a time, coach Saban made "affecting" the QB a thing instead of actually sacking the guy. We are still using that "mush rush" when we face mobile QBs.

The real truth is 4 plays to get 10 yards just ain't that hard anymore. If your defense can't create negative plays it's almost impossible to get off the field.

We need turnovers that stop drives, not just punts. We need more stunts and twist from our interior linemen, we need our DEs and OLBers to do more than hold a "mush rush" against mobile QBs.

We need to sack the QB, strip the QB and overall cause havoc in the backfield as often as possible. Teams need to be looking at more 2nd and 15 and 3rd and 20. And less 3rd and 3s. I don't think you can do that short of a more aggressive defensive gameplan.

Either we get more aggressive or pray that the NCAA will adopt the Canadian football rule of having to travel 10 yards in only 3 plays for a first down. Given the rule changes, that might not be a bad idea.
