Uh, Kam Chancellor is pretty good.

Chancellor is a lumbering goof who isn't asked to do a lot. I have watched the guy since HS.

A guy who runs and hits like Sean Taylor/Ronnie Lott/Jack Tatum is what you want, not Kam Chancellor.

I mean...this isn't a big secret. Those guys are few and far between. Chancellor is great at what he's asked to do. There isn't a more intimidating plaeyr in the nfl and the film backs that up. Receivers and Tight ends are genuinely scared to go over the middle because he destroys people on tape.

I read an article about it a few weeks ago and you'd be surprised at just how aware of chancellor the opposing pass catchers are

Alan Evans, Rashaan's father, had this to say regarding his unofficial visit to UCLA next week:

quote:

"He's probably going to leave out (for UCLA) on Thursday (Jan. 30) and come back on Saturday. It will probably be just him by himself going there this time."

So it appears the whole family is not going as was previously thought.

I wouldn't be surprised, but he is not anything out of the ordinary. William Moore, Raphael Bush and Donte Whitner have the same or better reputations around the league right now for intimidation.

The point is a guy with that limited of use is not really worth much in our defense.

I am really getting worried about Frazier. I get a strong feeling he might flip and what worries me even more is how much influence he had on Elam. If he switches to USC, im very concerned it could impact both recruits!

I think Frazier is fine. USC has a very limited number of scholarships to give out and they still have a ton of guys left on their board. He's said he just taking a free trip to LA. I guess we'll see if he is telling the truth in about 72 hours.

From all accounts it went well. His dad said that he is flying out to UCLA next weekend alone so that should allay some fears about his entire family going. He has his OV with Auburn starting today.

Gus is making his in-home on Evans' grandfather's 80th birthday, which is right before the dead period. Kirby will be there that day too.

I don't know where we stand, but he did OV with Christian Miller last weekend. Miller CB'd him to Bama yesterday. Perhaps he picked up on some vibes.

Evans' father said it will definitely be a NSD decision.

From a dude on BOL:

Mobile sports radio host said this morning that he got a call from Coker. He thinks Coker will verbally commit this weekend, while in T-town. Sorry if already posted!

Also from BOL regarding a joke Saban told recently:

quote:

Said he got off the plane tonight, and a guy says you screwed up in the AU game, guy tells him you used the wrong kicker! If you put the other guy in there, he shanks that $h** out of bounds. Got a good laugh

Yeah, the starting SS for the best defense in the NFL and a two time pro bowler would be almost worthless in an Alabama defense.

You realize that you have made no argument that shows a logical connection between the two I hope.

Al.com story on Saban's visit with Evans yesterday (non-premium):

quote:

Alabama's coaching staff continues to make its best recruiting push for the state's top prospect, Auburn High School linebacker Rashaan Evans, as Nick Saban and Kirby Smart visited the star recruit and his family at their home on Thursday night.

"It was a really great visit, as we expected," said Evans' father, Alan Evans. "I feel like we really got a lot accomplished. Coach Saban went into a lot of detail about their plans for Rashaan both on the field and off the field, what his chances look like to get on the field early and how they feel they can help him develop over the course of his career there."

Saban also shared a laugh or two with the family regarding the video of the coach dancing during the family's official visit to Tuscaloosa that was posted on social media by Evans' younger brother.

"He joked with us about it," Alan said. "He said he really wasn't upset at all about the video being posted. He thought it was good to show people another side of him that they don't usually get to see. Coach Saban really has a great sense of humor, that's one thing a lot of people may not know about him."

The visit was Saban's last chance to meet with Evans and his family before National Signing Day, though Smart plans to visit one last time next Saturday following Evans' trip to UCLA.

"I think we feel good about Alabama at this point and we feel like we have a great understanding of everything they have to offer."

Evans and his family will spend this weekend taking an official visit to Auburn, where they hope to continue to get a feel for the atmosphere and the personalities of both the coaches and players.

"We know the campus inside and out at this point. This weekend will be about talking more about Rashaan's role in their defense, spending time with the coaches and players, and really just having some fun."
