The game is on Navy's campus as part of the Veterans Classic.
Tubby Smith completely overhauled the Tigers roster this offseason, adding 8 new players including 5 junior college transfers. JUCO power forward Kyvon Davenport is expected to lead the way scoring wise for Memphis, but the offense runs through returning point guard Jeremiah Martin. Off the bench true freshman Jamal Johnson out of Birmingham could provide a 3pt shooting spark.
Expect Memphis to try to get to the basket early and often. With 5 scholarship players unavailable for us, they'll want this to be a physical game with lots of fouls.

Some info about the University of Memphis
The University of Memphis was founded as the West Tennessee Normal School in 1909. In 1957 the school renamed itself Memphis State University upon achieving full University status. The "University of Memphis" name was adopted in 1994.
Endowment: $199 million
Enrollment: 21k total
Early newspapers referred to athletics teams for the school as the Blue and Gray Warriors. In 1922 football coach Lester Bernard adopted the moto "Every Man a Tiger" for his team. The nickname Tigers stuck after a great season.

In basketball Memphis has reached the Final Four three times. 2 of those appearances however have been vacated.
The Tigers share their home stadium FedExForum with the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite mostly mediocre seasons since John Calipari left for Kentucky, Memphis is still one of the premier mid-major programs in college basketball.

That's a site that's free and supposed to work. Was recommended to me by a friend. He said there's a lot of ads you will have to deal with on the site, and you need a strong wifi connection, but you should be able to watch the game tonight. I see it on their list of games

Pisses me off that a program like Memphis can get there, yet we can't luck into one.

Just a reminder. Let's not melt too bad if some reason we lose. We're without Sexton, Key, Norris, Davis, and Mack is ineligible. That's 5 scholarship players we can't even use tonight. And Memphis has played well this offseason.
But I seriously think we are better than them even without all those players. We have a good team stepping on that court tonight, and I'm pretty dang excited about it. #BuckleUp

The hype train is so big this season. If we don't make the tourney then coach AJ might as well run for the hills.
Honestly though, there's no reason why we can't win this game still. If we play like we did against UAH then we won't. I expect it to be a close victory though.

If we don't make the tourney, Avery's seat will become very hot. I don't believe Byrne is gonna screw around

Avery has no reason/excuse to miss the tourney. This is the year he's claimed we would take that next step

Don’t the tourney people prefer the formula that factors in how healthy you and your opponents were at each particular game?
