I bet we'll have a good chance if we really want him. Him being from Memphis really helps bc he'll still be home basically

The good thing about playing Memphis: they are still a big basketball name. Yeah, they will probably suck RPI wise but while they do, their name and a W over them carries a bit of cachet with the committee. A W over Memphis and Texas would look good on the resume' and I've heard the argument a million times about team X's schedule looking weak but it wasn't their fault because they scheduled big names that were having down years.

I just want to take a minute to thank God for not allowing Alabama to pursue Tubby Smith when searching for our last HC. I remember his name was mentioned in an article for a potential candidate and I was praying please no lol

I agree name does matter. Nobody looked at Texas as a bad loss this year when in actuality it was an awful one.

Oh I had a freakout when I thought Richard Petino was gonna be our coach. Looking back now he is not actually that bad.

He's only had like one good season and he lost in the first round to MTSU. He might be the next Grant lol. I'm glad we passed on him.

I wouldn't expect much from our grad transfers. Not many guys are going to want to spend their last year as a role player on a bubble team

Memphis being a brand name won't matter at all if they suck, win or lose.

If they go 17-15 and finish 167th in RPI it won't be any different than a win over 167th RPI UNC-Greensboro.

A shooter is a shooter. Not like most of them NBA prospects. Just more than likely want a run in the tournament. With the right pieces I think we can provide that.

I think the best prospects will either want to start or want to play on a better contender. Avery hasn't landed a highly regarded grad transfer yet. Bola and Edwards were good but not highly sought after.

One more thing. I think a guy could come in and start at the 4 for sure.

Yeah I could see it. It depends on where Avery wants to play Key. Right now I see our rotation like this to open the season. Rough estimates on the number of minutes:

PG: Sexton (30 minutes)
SG: Ingram (25 minutes)
SF: Norris (20 minutes)
PF: Key (25 minutes)
C: Hall (20 minutes)

6th Man: Petty (25 minutes)
Role Player: Giddens (20 minutes)
Role Player: AJ Jr (15 minutes)
Role Player: Herb (10 minutes)
Role Player: Reese (10 minutes)
Bench: Smith
Bench: Lawson
