I hate saying this stuff because it sounds like "oh well he's a white guy so obviously", but he knows what he is doing, he is experienced and he covers for others mistakes. He understands how to take advantage of sloppy box outs on the rebounding end and he steps in and cuts guy off on defense when a guard gets beat and skips back to his man without missing a beat.
He's a valuable guy on a good team. Hopefully he's able to fill that role this year.

He tries to play defense but he can't stop anyone he isn't athletic enough.
He was our best on-ball defender, and it really wasn't that close. His label for lack of athleticism really isn't accurate. He's not the fastest guy, but for a 6'7 forward, his lateral quickness is above average. He also knows the proper angles to take defensively to stay in front of his man.

Yep - the only times he got beat off the dribble was in a few games where he kept getting switched onto smaller, faster guards. That isn't his fault and he shouldn't be expected to stay in front of guys like that.

Avery said in that interview
I don't personally see Riley starting at the end of the year or even at the start of conference play. Avery has already shown that he isn't shy about starting young guys- Ingram over Coleman, Hall over Taylor, Key over Hale.

I 100% believe that. I also think Norris does things on the defensive end and rebounding that exponentially help the team by both covering up others mistakes and doing his own job well. But hey, if Petty walks in and can do that from day 1 then I agree, he will probably start.
I just think Norris' defense and rebounding are being severely underestimated here, specifically his ability to cover for other guys mistakes. I can't imagine Petty will show up and have that knowledge/ability on the fly. But, if he does, he'll probably get the nod. And even if he doesn't, decisions will have to be made if he does other things that much better than in the end its a net positive.

Anyone hear about Brian Bowen just randomly enrolling at Louisvile when they havent even been actively recruiting him hard in like 2 years?? Must be nice to have 5* players you dont even recruit commit to you anyways.

Lol why did two people down vote this? My guess would be yes, but the blue shirt, grey shirt stuff gets confusing to me. TideSaint could probably give a better answer.

I figured out that the players have 6 hours of workouts and 2 hours on the court per week right now.

I agree Myreon has better film, and I think his stats in EYBL were slightly better. Myreon did only play half the season though, and I think Butler is a good player.
There must be something I'm missing on Jones. I can understand Avery not liking him, but the best school that has offered him to date is UAB. Maybe he's a terrible defender.

I really want Woodard.

He kind of reminds me of Grant Williams at Tennessee with more athleticism.

Noticed today that the Atwann Burnett from Montgomery is a top football recruit and basketball recruit in 2020.
Here's his 247 page for football. LINK He already holds Alabama, Florida, and Georgia offers. And here's his future 150 basketball page LINK. They have him as the #1 player in Alabama for 2020.
The last guy I remember playing football and basketball in college was Bruce Ellington at South Carolina. I bet Burnett picks one of the sports to focus on, but it's something to watch.
