Really really like this kid. He is going to be a great player. He is what I would call a foundation player, one you can build a team around. Extremely happy he chose us. Thanks TFerg. You were good for something.

So now that the seasons over, what's the latest on recruiting? I know we have Key and Davis coming in, and I know we are recruiting Fernando and Ferguson. Is there anyone else Bama has been recruiting for this class? Anyone we have a great shot at getting? Just kind of curious what to expect and I don't know if we have any "insiders" here or not, so just thought I'd ask.

Honestly, the only other guy I think Bama may get is Bruno Fernando. He just took an official visit to FSU not too long ago.

There are some uncommitted 3-stars right now Bama could potentially get. One guy, Khadim Gueye, is a 7-1 center.

Idk if he is related to the Gueye that played here, but man I don't want another Mousa Gueye.

Then there is Nick Rakocevic, who has offers from big names like Texas, Miami, Wisconsin, USC, etc..

Family member tweets. I was on twitter, and I saw Ferguson retweeted something either his mom or aunt say, but then he deleted it.

I really don't care where he goes, or what happens to him. Wish him all the best, but I do hope recruits don't play the staff the way he did. Just commit and sign early, or say you don't want to be here and go elsewhere. Don't wait till nearly the end, take an official visit, hang out with the players, then decommit.

Really hope we can add grad transfer Canyon Barry. He can be a very reliable shooter and shows up in big games. Had 19 vs LSU to help them upset them, and 20 vs Miami.

We need someone like him badly.

And I don't understand why Herb Jones hasn't been offered yet. He's from Moundville, can play 1-2, and is a 4 star.

We need him!!!

I'm not mad about Ferguson. Look at how we finished, and look at Kansas' continued success. If you want to win in one year and be a Final Four contender, Kansas is a safe bet. After watching Simmons bust his arse at LSU and get criticized, the easy route has to be more tempting.

Sure hope we can lock down Jamal Johnson. He's predicted to go to AU though.

Two things:

1. We were a MUCH safer bet at the time of his decommittment than his original commitment. Hell, we had a great shot at the tournament when he decommitted. If he turned us down before the early signing period then NBD. I get it. But to recruit others to a school, not sign, reassure everyone that he's coming and decommit this late in this process is fricked up. It's clear as hell that he got paid.

2. Ben Simmons will probably be the first pick in the draft. If anything he help prove that it doesn't matter where you go when it comes to draft stock.

He decommitted after the Auburn game, but he also had witnessed us with a bad loss to Miss State and another blow out against Kentucky.

After he decommitted, we did lose four of five. But the decline and growing pains were obvious in the week or so prior to it occurring. I don't think he woke up one morning and decided he didn't want to go to Alabama. That said, it's easier and understandable for a top twenty player to want to attend a top program instead of believing in the uncertainty of a rebuild.

I completely agree. It's not the decision that pisses off Bama fans, it is how it was gone about.

Just FYI: When asked why he chose us, his reasoning was that he didn't want to be another guy at a top program, he wanted to start something. His mom is pushing him to take money which is probably what will happen. My guess is Baylor is forking over the cash, and that's where he'll land.

frick Ferguson kid or not you don't get others to do something they can't back out of then leave. Blackwell probably is at Vanderbilt if it wasn't for Ferguson. Not to mention it being this late we could've went and found a replacement.
