You didn't say too much. I don't blame you for being confused/pissed if that was the information you were given.

That's why this makes no sense. He did sign with us in Nobember. They were going to have a ceremony and all that, but then his grandmother passed away and it was just unfortunate timing. Literally in the last hour of the signing period, they quietly faxed his papers in, and Bama didn't announce it to the public.

His grandmother passed away a month ago, according to his coach. Are you just saying she got deathly sick at that time or something?

I thought his grandmother passed away some time in the last month?

I was told she passed away shortly before the end of the first signing period. Maybe she was just sick, but either way, I was told that was why they postponed that public announcement/signing.

So am I to believe he signed an actual LOI or just other paperwork for financial aid and whatnot?

So ur saying he signed a LOI from what u were told? I know u can't say who it is that told u but can u trust the person who told u he signed? Also, if he really did quietly sign with us, he can't de-commit after that right? I'm unfamiliar with how that all works so I just have to ask

Good luck to him. No hard feelings, it's his choice. CAJ still doing work

If this happened back before the early signing period, I'd feel this way. But something about him leaving Key and Davis out to dry, and them acting all shocked that Bama fans questioned his commitment when he didn't sign is bugging the hell out of me.

Not that I believe a word the guy says, but that Drew DeArmond guy said that this decommitment shocked the staff.

Nope, once you sign it's a binding contract, only the school can release you of it if you want to play elsewhere.

So basically, if he signed LOI and now he wants out of it, then if we go public with things, he will use the grandmother as an excuse. Everyone will be pissed at Bama for not allowing him to play close to home to comfort his mom.

No way he signed an LOI. He may have signed a financial agreement so we could have unlimited contact with him, but if he signed an LOI, we would've made it public so all schools would stop contacting him. He also wouldn't be able to get out of it.

This whole thing stinks. I admit I'm pretty bitter about this. Maybe I shouldn't be, but I am.

I'm not comfortable saying anything more about it on here. I'm going to be out of pocket for the next couple of hours, but if any of you want a little more details, I can email you. Obviously I don't know anything regarding today's events, but I can tell you why I was so confident.

Friend of mine told me on Saturday that Pettway told the Tip-Off Club on Friday that Ferguson signed in the early signing period.

Was anybody else there? I thought my friend had misunderstood. But maybe not.

I hope that it's true and he just wants to announce on signing day.
