I honestly don't want him. I'd rather CAJ and staff put more effort into Blackwell, Kegler or Huell

What makes him such a good prospect? Obviously several really good programs want him. But his stats were nothing special last year. Certainly not what you'd think of in a 4* #5 overall Juco prospect. is it upside potential (size/athleticism)? Otherwise, I don't get it. 10.9 ppg and 28 percent on 3's are a dime a dozen in Juco.

Unless he was going to be able to play this season, I don't want him.

The staff has put in plenty of effort into Blackwell. No shot with the other two guys. It's not like it's an either/or with Davis and Blackwell.

Well if were are holding a spot for Bolden, then it would have to be either or with Blackwell and Davis

You're assuming AJ Jr. will stay on scholarship and that there will be no transfers...

Well for one those stats are his freshman year stats, but his ranking is based off of potential. He can jump out of the gym and despite his percentage from deep, his mechanics are pretty good. His attempts were also high-volume and judging from his highlight video he loves shooting from DEEP 3pt range.

Truly blessed to be commited to the University of Alabama ??!! Love the coaches & players #SEC #RollTide @CoachAvery6

ETA: I didn't realize Pettway was his primary recruiter. The guy is a beast on the trail and I can't believe I talked myself into not caring whether Johnson retained him or not

I wrote this on bamamag but me and you got the same thing from watching his video:

He shot 28% from 3, but Tim Watts and BOL claim our staff feels he's a better shooter than that and a high level scorer. I've watched a little film and he's extremely athletic as most of the kids at this level are. He seemed to be a good slasher/finisher. He's got a nice looking shot (obviously not like Ferguson's) so I imagine with some proper coaching that percentage from deep will go up. His hands seem to be a little low when he starts his shot so that may cause problems with a bigger defender but he's 6'6 so I'm not sure there will be many guys taller that will be defending him. All of these are quick judgments after watching a 5 minute video though.

I don't think he changed his mind. He didn't want the cat to get out of the bag so he played head games. I started to say that's what he might be doing this morning.

IMO, I think the Texas offer caused him to hesitate but our staff probably called him and gave him reassurance that we are where he really wants to be. I could be 100% wrong though.
