That's my guess too. I'm thinking Grant's waiting to get a decision from Jacobs and Engstrom before taking his commitment

I just hope he makes it to our visit.

@D_Mitch23: Well it looks like I gotta find my way down to Tuscaloosa for @MrDouble_Double 's visit so I can show him a good time when he takes it?? lol
If there's one guy I want to succeed more than anyone else in our class, it's Mitchell.

He's awesome. His personality alone will help us. If we land Davis, I'd give him half the credit at the very least.

Elijah Thomas cut his list and we didn't make the it.

Not surprising. He's a top 10 player from Texas with offers from all the blue bloods.
Posted on 3/26/14 at 5:52 pm to BigBird09
Yeah I'm glad he did. I'd prefer we use our time and resources on realistic players.

@TheRecruitScoop: Following offers from Kansas State & Vanderbilt, 2015 SG Malik Beasley has earned an Alabama offer.

I wonder how we stand with Dickerson. I know Georgetown is the favorite, but he did play for the Georgia Stars and I'd imagine Devin wouldn't let him go without a fight.

Ah. Grant's recruiting prowess once again shines through.

He's a top 15 player from Texas. Not like any coach at Alabama could land him.

Then why waste your time recruiting him? There were times that Alabama would land top 15 players in basketball, seems like a century ago, I know, but it's not like Grant would be cracking the da vinci code by signing (or at least finishing in the top ten) for a five star recruit. Heck, I thought his recruiting connections were part of the reason we hired him?

We started recruiting the kid like 3 years ago, and he liked us then. I'm not sure we have ever landed a top 15 player out of state, much less all the way in Texas. All of those top 15 recruits you are thinking of have been in-state talents. The in-state talent has been terrible recently though. Grant's one of the best out of state recruiters we have had IMO. We have been finalists for top players in New Jersey to all the way in Arizona. He just doesn't seem to be able to close on those guys.
Grant's biggest problem recruiting wise is his lack of preparation for transfers (unwilling to over sign) and swinging for the fences for big men combined with his unwillingness to settle for just quality bigs. Holding out for William Lee when we could have had Turman is a perfect example.

Because he came to a team camp before he blew up. That's why. There's nothing to say our staff has been recruiting him since he cut his list to 30 teams, but I guess it could possibly be one more thing to bitch about.

I saw Brannen is now following an athletic administrator from Jacksonville University. I wouldn't be surprised if he's trying to get that head coaching job.
